So we asked Zach (owner) for a price to upgrade the main panel as we waned to add mini splits for air conditioning, but didn't have room for additional breakers. Zach came back with an estimate. Overall Zach Zanghi (owner) has fair prices, communicates well and employs knowledgeable people.

I hired Matthew for an emergency macerator pump replacement. He was responsive and available when…read moreother local firms were booked out, which I sincerely appreciated, to his credit. However, I cannot recommend his business based on the quoting and final billing miscommunications. The project vastly exceeded the initial 4-hour estimate, ending up at over 8 hours of labor without any mid-job notification that the scope or time was doubling. Additionally, I was charged two separate $150 site visit fees ($300 total) for a single job that was split into multiple visits for their scheduling convenience. Despite a verbal agreement to provide the main parts 'at cost,' since I already had them ready to order, the final invoice included significant markups on basic cleaning and truck supplies like towels and buckets. When I reached out to discuss these discrepancies in good faith, suggesting compromise, the response was defensive and included immediate threats of late fees on a first-time invoice that was actively being contested. PitStop reduced the invoice by $50 as "good faith". After I itemized out a compromise between what I was led to expect and what was invoiced, I was ghosted. After waiting a few weeks and following up with no response, I chose to pay the invoice in full simply to close the matter, but I strongly advise other property owners to get a binding written contract and a capped labor quote upfront before any work begins.

UPDATE 9/18/2026…read more Fact Check: The Finger Lakes Power Systems tech who is certified and factory-trained with 8 years experience spent 3+ hours diagnosing my generator's failure to run and yet could not positively identify the problem so they were not able to fix it. They told me more troubleshooting was needed. Dailey Electric identified two (2) problems in less than 15 minutes. The Finger Lakes Power Systems tech who is certified and factory-trained with 8 years experience did not discover a blown fuse in the transfer switch in 3+ hours. Dailey discovered the blown fuse in the transfer switch in 5 minutes. The Finger Lakes Power Systems tech who is certified and factory-trained with 8 years experience did not discover that the controller was melted in 3+ hours. Dailey discovered the melted controller in 5 minutes. The Finger Lakes Power Systems tech who is certified and factory-trained with 8 years experience could NOT FIX the problem in 3+ hours! Dailey FIXED the problem in less than 2 hours. FLPS billed me for $950.00 + in labor, while not repairing the unit in 3 visits. Dailey billed me for $250.00 in labor, and fixed the unit in 2 visits. FLPS charges $250.00 per hour. This includes travel time! Dailey charges $125.00 per hour. Travel time is excluded. The Finger Lakes Power Systems tech who is certified and factory-trained with 8 years experience recommended replacing the entire unit for more than $15K. Dailey repaired the unit, which is functioning perfectly today. A savings to me of over $14K!!!! Since Dailey fixed the problem in under 2 hrs while the Finger Lakes Power Systems tech who is certified and factory-trained with 8 years experience NEVER did figure out what was wrong, I requested a full refund from Tara Barnhart, the Service Manager. She refused. I paid FLPS' bill by credit card. I immediately disputed FLPS' charge on my credit card on 7/1/2026. The credit card company contacted FLPS on 7/3/2026, 7/15/2026, 7/30/2026, 8/4/2026, 8/14/2026. FLPS owner, Mr. Dan Lewis, DID NOT RESPOND to any of the five (5) repeated requests from the credit card company. The credit card refunded the money I paid, in full, on 9/9/2026. Lessons learned: 1. If you don't really care about getting your generator fixed and have money to burn, Finger Lakes Power Systems is the company for you. They employ techs who are certified and factory-trained with 8 years experience, but who cannot diagnose simple problems quickly or in a cost effective manner. 2. If you would like to spend a reasonable amount of money for a quick and permanent fix by a competent technician: USE DAILEY Electric in Penn Yan!!!!!

Their quote was actually less then a competitive quote that I received from another electrician. Since Clover recommended them, it was a no-brainer. When our hot tub arrived in town, we scheduled delivery with Clover. D and D was ready that day to spend the whole day at my house. We had to hook up the hot tub, but also get a new 200 amp panel installed. D and D took care of everything. On installation day, they arrived before they said they would to prepare. Dwight was the main electrician, and he brought 3 other amazing electricians with them. They worked in sync as a team the whole day to do the electric service, new panel, new meter and hot tub hook up. They answered all of my questions and gave me options for the best way to run lines or place devices. They also completed a few other small jobs while at the house. By 3:00 or so, everything was done and we were back in business with our new spa. Dwight is also a hot tub expert so he helped me start up the tub and add the chemicals. We have had so many poor contractors at our house that either don't show up on time or do questionable or slow work. D and D came on time, did the work efficiently and worked very hard until the job was done. i could not recommend them more for any hot tub install or other electrical work!!! -Very satisfied in Fairport, NY
