This business is strange. We went there for a kitchen renovation/bathroom vanity. We received a email with and estimate and stopped by their showroom to finalize the contract. Somehow the cabinets that they originally showed us were not the ones we where initially shown. The representative told us that we were mistaken. We discussed some minor items related to kitchen/bath vanity. I informed the rep that their license had expired! He told me that was not a problem, they would take care of it. We never heard from them after! We stopped by their show room out of curiosity just to find out what happened. We told the rep that we would pay more for the cabinets that we were first shown if that was the problem. The rep told us he did not know what happened but would speak to his boss who originally was handling our project. Never heard from them after that. As I said previously, something very strange is going on with this business. Don't waste your valuable time with these guys!

Eugenia greeted us and gave us an honest, up front assessment of our needs and what would work. We never felt pressured. We walked away so much informed and decided to go with engineered flooring instead of the LVT. We let our builder know about our visit. He was just as excited about the product we found. The next thing we know, we're ordering 36 boxes of engineered wood flooring that looks BEAUTIFUL. Excellent quality at an affordable price with great service. These peope know their stuff, and even when I called, and spoke to other staff, it was like talking to family. So helpful. I can't recommend them enough! I'm grateful we have a resource like them on the East End. They serve all sorts of clientele. I am a woman alone with children. I simply did not want my car damaged. I'm not sure what this guys problem was but I know I'd never want him in my house doing an installation. I was shaken. My husband on speakerphone could hear the man screaming at me. People were staring. This employee clearly has a massive anger issue. We found Hampton Restoration on the Internet. The web site said "For your peace of mind, we are an honest business that is fully licensed and insured." The website also claimed that they were "screened and approved by HomeAdvisor" They provided an estimate, (and no contract) and we decided to go with them. They required a down payment of 1/2 the total estimate. We paid that. I found out that they lied about being "fully licensed and insured" and Home Advisor has not "screened and approved" them. I told them we want our deposit back. They refused. They did no design work. We purchased and procured all the materials (vanity, toilet, lights, tile, shower and vanity plumbing, towel rack, mirror, etc.). They provided no labor, and yet they think they are entitled to $9120.00 of our money. We consider this Grand Theft. On top of this, the legal system proved disappointing. The State of NY, which seems to have good consumer protections, sent us to Suffolk County that also has what seems to be good consumer protections, but said that because the crime occurred in East Hampton NY, they had not jurisdiction. We filed a police report, and they were very sympathetic, but ultimately after investigating decided it was "a civil matter" not a "criminal matter". So if I went to the convenience store and shoplifted a cold beer, they would arrest me. But if a contractor steals $9120.00, it is up to me to sue the perpetrator. After speaking with an attorney in E. Hampton, he advised that I could try small claims court in E. Hampton (no lawyer required), and at best get back only $3000 (but I might loose). If I wanted to try to get back more of my money, he thought I might have to go all the way to the NY Supreme Court. Of course legal fees would wipe out any possible wins, and perhaps I would not win. So bottom line: Stay away from this fraudulent business. It could happen to you.
