Fernando is hands down the best mechanic I've ever had the pleasure to bring my car to. He is as honest as the day is long. Fernando and his son always do a wonderful job and he never overcharges for the work he does. I highly recommend Ferdi Motors, they will not disappoint!! read more

This location is zoned MPC-2, the Magnolia Park Limited Business Zone (Burbank Municipal Code section 10-1-2601). Under the City's own zoning table (BMC section 10-1-502), an "automobile repair garage" in this zone requires a conditional use permit. The City's online property records, which go back to 2006, show no conditional use permit and no zoning clearance ever issued for this address. The building's history goes back further: the earliest permit on file, dated February 4, 1947, describes the use as "COM. - LIGHT MACHINE WORK & SHOW ROOM," not automobile repair. I don't see how a use that was never actually permitted should now be allowed to continue, or be granted an exception, without the City first making a written finding that automobile repair is lawful on this specific lot. The lot itself is small for this use: about 25 feet wide and 130 feet deep (3,250 square feet), with its rear line touching single-family (R-1) homes and no alley in between. The Los Angeles County Fire Department's Health Hazardous Materials Division (the local CUPA -- Certified Unified Program Agency) recorded violations here in May 2026, including two 55-gallon drums of used oil in the back lot without a hazardous waste label, and oil filters accumulated without a closed, labeled container. To the shop's credit, the County's own records show those violations were corrected and the site returned to compliance by July 8, 2026. Still, one gallon of used oil can foul a million gallons of drinking water, and I don't know where this lot's runoff goes. Burbank's own code (BMC section 8-1-1003(F)) bans discharging wash water from vehicle repair areas into the storm drain system without a permit, because storm drains carry runoff, untreated, straight to local waterways. I believe, based on all of this, that this location was never properly zoned for an auto shop in the first place, and that if the owner applies for a conditional use permit or any other exception to keep operating here, the City should not grant it. I'm not asking for anyone to be fined or prosecuted. I just don't think a business with an eight-year gap in its state registration, on a lot this size, backing directly onto people's homes, should get an exception to a zoning law it was never in compliance with. I had a starter replaced here. I later learned, from the California Department of Consumer Affairs' own license search, that this shop's registration (No. 250737) had expired back on May 31, 2018 and was marked cancelled -- and that a new registration (No. 317791) was not issued until September 18, 2026. That is a gap of more than eight years with no valid Automotive Repair Dealer registration on file, while the shop kept working on cars. Under California Business and Professions Code section 9884.6(a), it is unlawful for anyone to act as an automotive repair dealer without a currently valid registration. I filed a complaint with the Bureau of Automotive Repair over the work done on my car, and I received a refund. I got an invoice, but not the itemized invoice the law requires (Business and Professions Code section 9884.8: the invoice must list parts and labor separately, state whether any part is new, used, rebuilt, or reconditioned, and give the subtotals and tax). Very dishonest experience. I took my Range Rover here because they claimed to have proper diagnostic equipment, which they did not. I was charged about $1,600 for repairs my car didn't need, and the problem was never fixed. The dealership later confirmed the work was unrelated to the issue. I tried calling and texting several times with no response. I do not recommend this shop -- please get a second opinion read more

Fernando & his son Christian are absolutely stunning gentleman making an honest living by repairing cars without price gouging! It's evident that they're truly in the business to help others as they continue to create satisfied customers! Any recommendations provided by them concerning your vehicle is so you can avoid a domino effect of costly maintenance and repairs in the future! They are experts at what they do and I'm so thankful that I stumbled upon them. It feels good as a woman to have mechanics that I can trust in this selfish, and greedy society that we live in! They're truly a blessing to me! I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THEM! read more

So my mother's 2003 X5 BMW passenger window wasn't working we took it to Fernando. He fixed it and left his flash light in the door which caused a rattle every time my mom made a turn. We took it back and he found the solution the flash light was in the door panel. Honest mistake.. The A/C soon stopped working so we decided to take it back his charisma does that. When we took it back he said the pressure switch needed replacing and so did the Auxiliar Fan and a few other things. He told my mother that the car is like a system of organs if one thing is faulty soon other parts take damage. I was really discouraged when i heard that, that sounds like something you say when your milking somebody out of more money. This is the kicker!! The a/c still didn't work he said his diagnostics computer said it was the auxiliary fan. He told us he bought the auxiliar fan from century BMW and if we brought it over they would replace the part since it should still have the guarantee (free of charge). We brought it over with the receipt Fernando gave us but we needed the receipt showing that Fernando bought the item from Century BMW. He told us he couldn't find the receipt but that he was sure he bought it from there. Century BMW has no record that he bought it from them. Fernando then told us he sent us to the wrong dealer instead he bought it from J&S German autoparts. We initially paid $1500.00 for Fernando to fix our A/C We got sent to Century BMW and got charged $359.00 for the diagnostics inspection of A/C. Yet the only reason we went was because Fernando was sure he bought the item from them. We paid $ 1500.00 + $359.00 and still my mothers A/C does not work... Summer is here were hot sweaty and broke... read more

Honest Reliable Mechanic, something hard to find these days. He is our mechanic, and my mom's and other family member. Personal service.

Fernando is a blessing for Mercedes owners who need an honest first rate mechanic to keep car running beautifully. Few years ago got 2004 SUV my regular mechanic not specializing in Mercedes didn't have a grip on taking care of issues all of a sudden car in terrible shape not enjoyable to drive, of course would have loved having a new model but this was not an option, neighbor with two Mercedes while out on a walk got in a chat shared mine running terrible didn't know where to turn, informed me of Fernando being excellent local mechanic decided to give him a try...so happy I did, went over all the issues communication was clear & easy within two days couldn't believe how finally my car a pleasure to drive feeling like a new car plus fees for all that was done were reasonable. Months later still running smooth and quiet whenever anything is needed done to my SUV will only be at Ferdi Motors! Thank you Fernando... HIGHLY RECOMMENDED read more

I have never met a mechanic like Fernando. He has treated me and my car like family since the moment I met him. His work is amazing and he is such a kind hearted, honest and good natured human being. He really understands the cars he works on. I have a baby blue vintage Mercedes convertible and I only let him on my baby. His prices are fair and reasonable. I would recommend him highly to anyone and everyone! read more

Fernando -- owner, certified Mercedes Benz mechanic-- trained with them, etc, and great guy extraordinaire is the best mechanic I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He offers great customer service, respectable pricing, and does a great job every time. I am so pleased with the service and reliability of his business that I am creating this Yelp listing myself! He works on all cars (mine is a Saab) but especially on european models. He's got a tiny little place right on Hollywood Way-- it's easy to miss if you don't know it already. The guys who work for him are also professional and friendly and know their stuff. Next time you need any work at all done on your car-- bring it over to them and you'll never go any place else. All my friends who've I sent there have also been extremely happy with their experiences. read more
