Bait and switch fraud is being practiced by this dealer. I called to verify if the car was available, and the dealer confirmed. I insisted on double-checking whether the car was physically on the lot, since I would be driving more than 30 minutes, and they reassured me. When I showed up, the car didn't exist, and they tried to sell me another car. I visited the dealer 3 days ago, and they are still advertising them. I'm sharing my experience to warn other buyers -- especially out-of-state customers -- about Ferco Motors in Miami, FL. In June 2025, I purchased a 2012 Mercedes-Benz CL from Ferco Motors as an out-of-state buyer from Texas, relying entirely on the dealership's representations since I could not inspect the car in person. Before the sale, I specifically asked Jorge Palmerola, one of their managers, if the vehicle had any oil leaks or suspension problems. He explicitly denied any issues. Once the car arrived, I had the vehicle inspected at a certified Mercedes-Benz service center, which documented serious and unsafe mechanical defects: - Failed engine mounts - Worn-out brake pads and rotors - Oil leaks - Unsafe rear tires - Malfunctioning Active Body Control (ABC) hydraulic suspension system I reported these findings to the dealership on June 30, and for over a week I was ignored, yelled at, and hung up on -- specifically by Jorge. Despite multiple requests, the dealership refused to take any action. They later claimed the diagnostic report was "not verifiable," and hid behind the "AS-IS" clause, which does not shield a dealership from misrepresentation or failure to disclose known defects under Florida law. As of now, Ferco Motors has refused to accept return of the vehicle or issue a refund. I will be filing a civil lawsuit against the dealership for fraud, misrepresentation, and violation of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act (FDUTPA). The car, came with lots of issues/problems. Issues include: Trunk not closing properly, rear bumper not installed correctly, busted motor mount, defective rear suspension chock, worn out tires, air compressor noises, electronic key works when it wants to, missing car jack/wrench, and worn out shift handle. I've invested more than $500 in repairs since I got the car Email Message to dealer: Your support is bad, all I got after I sent you guys my concerns through your online website support was the run-around, lies, I don't know responses, I'll call you back and never did. The white Nissan Altima I saw online was told to me on the phone that it was ready to go and available just to find out after I got there that it was not there. It's a trick dealers use to get people to come into their dealer by posting a bait car with a great price and condition. I researched 3 cars that were posted within my price range and specs on carfax. I called before driving to Miami. However, they assured me the cars were al there. However, when I arrived I was told the cars had a "0" which meant they weren't any good and were sent to auction. Orlando proceeded to show me a couple of other cars, both with much higher mileage. I drove one car and he quoted me a price. I stated that I intended to pay cash and my price point. He gave me a price and said he would see what I could get for my trade-in. The next day Orlando reached out to me and quoted me $3K+ more than originally quoted. Both my son and I were shocked as we made it clear the day before my price point. He stated that it didn't include all of the extra fees. He remarked that he thought I knew. The prior day I confirmed that the price he quoted was with everything as we went back to the office to crunch numbers. I told him I could not go that high. He then suggested a 14' with over 130k miles and then asked if I would be coming back to Miami after work to look at the car. I flatly refused. After reading several other reviews, and seeing that they have done this bait-and-switch to others is sad. All the cars isted that are not intended for sale should not be listed, as it is false. The customer has no way of knowing that it failed inspection, as it doesn't say that on the listing. Furthermore, I called about and wrote to FERCO for each car prior to driving nearly an hour south. First: The cars listed on the website (rather good cars at fantastic prices) are not at the dealership. Second: All prices are way higher than advertised for similar cars at the dealership. Seems to good to be true? It isn't true, period. First red flags I noticed: 1- Car pics at the website do not correspond to the cars listed. Example: an interior of a supposedly 2017 Toyota Corolla had pictures of a 2020 one. Another Corolla, this time a 2018, had pictures of a much older one ( with no screen at the dashboard). That made me curious and began paying more attention, but still giving them the benefit of the doubt. Tought that they could be simply careless. 2- Nevertheless, I began to check the listed VIN numbers. The result? sometimes they referenced cars of the same brand but from a different year, sometimes VIN numbers simply didn't exist, totally fake numbers. So now, being really suspicious, called the dealership and talked to someone identified as Gustavo. Asked him if the cars listed on the website really existed and if the prices were the correct ones. He said that in most cases yes, unless recently sold cars or additions to the inventory not yet online. I decided to go and see by myself. The sales man there couldn't show me any of the cars I had in my list (six) and the similar ones he showed me, were from 5K to 6K more expensive. I let him knew Gustavo assured me the cars were on the inventory at the listed prices. He said that Gustavo worked from home and didn't know what they really had. I ironically replied how come they have such an uninformed person taking the calls. Angry response from the guy, telling me not to disrespect them. Be careful!!! These folks could potentially be very dishonest. Was looking at a BMW M3 that they had listed on Craigslist under phone number 305-699-5997. I asked if there were any problems with the car and he said there were not. I got a hold of the VIN number for the vehicle and found that there were two open recalls on the car, which he did not disclose. Legally, they have to take care of the recalls before the sale. Purchased a car here in early August. If it wasn't for the salesman I would give 1 star. We came for a car that was advertised online for a reasonable price. Of course the car had sold the previous day in the evening. Initially I thought it was genuine but after reading the reviews, I see this is a technique they use to draw people in. That was fine because we found another car that we were interested in. The salesman was helpful and cordial. The main problem with this company is Joaquin, who handles the financial side of things. His unwillingness to even entertain a compromise is mind blowing, not to mention his limited ability to communicate effectively. His garbled speech is barely tolerable. We agreed to purchase a vehicle and went through with the process. At the conclusion of the deal, we mention that the vehicle had little to no gas and we asked "you're going to fill up the gas tank, right?" Joaquin says "I'm sorry it's Sunday and I don't have access to our gas card". I look at him in disbelief and jokingly state "you're kidding me right?, you're really going to sell us a car on empty with the low fuel indicator on",. He reaffirms that he doesn't have a way to pay for fuel. Mind you I had just giving him 4K as a down payment until I secure my financing with my bank. He begrudgingly gives the worker who is preparing our vehicle $10 to fuel it. Mind you this vehicle takes upwards of $70 to fuel up entirely. This needless to say, upset us quite a bit. We were given a temporary tag and told to return once the financing was set up through our bank. I returned two days later with a draft letter from our bank and ask him to void our temporary financing agreement and give us the tag. He goes on to say that he needs to wait until the check clears in order to proceed, which is understandable. This process usually takes 2-3 business days from what I gathered from asking around. 1 week passes and we hear nothing so I call the company and leave a message, that was never returned. 2 weeks pass and I show up in person after making two additional calls with no return call and he tells me in his garbled speech that "they are looking for the title". After almost 3 weeks I call to inquire on the status of the tag and the secretary says "your license plate is ready for pick up",. Joaquin didn't even bother calling me to tell me it was finally ready. I can't understand why a company would employ someone with such poor customer service, communication and follow up skills. Again,the salesman was nice but Joaquin is making this company look very bad in my opinion. I would be very reluctant to return or recommend this business based on the fact that a decision was made to employ such an incompetent individual. Who knows what other issues exist within this company that May effect the product being sold. read more
