Leaving reviews (good and/or bad) is just not something I do.... (too time consuming in a busy life) This actually might be my first review ever... But being a 16+ years "customer" of Fenders Farm, this just rubbed me the wrong way. I took five boys there today... I bought tickets for the day activities as well as the haunted stuff (combo ticket). $250 later.... It starts raining at dusk. We then went through either the Insane Inn or Patch's Penthouse (not even sure which one it was). We came out of it, waited 15mins for them to open the Field of Screams & then they decided to not open it due to the rain. We were able to experience 1 of the 3 attractions. We were given a wristband to come back to the field of screams. I asked if we could get our money back for the difference instead. He said no pretty quickly and then asked where we were from. (The fact that he asked where we were from proves that he could have given me a refund if he wanted too) I told him Kingsport but that it is an hour drive. Explained that we can usually just make it there once a year and wouldn't be able to return this year. (Ya know, ppl do work and kids do have school related activities....) He said, "No, I'm not gonna do it." And if only I could attach his tone of voice on this review for it to make more sense of why I'm so upset.
There was only about a $5 difference between the two different tickets we got.... Which was $40 since we had 6 tickets. That $40 would've been nothing to them but a lot to one single persons wallet. Remember, we only experienced 1 of the 3 attractions so I technically should've even asked for more. It's not like I was asking for money back on something they had to spend their own money on (like food). I was simply asking for my money back on something we didn't get to do.
Besides, the one haunted event we did get to go through was not great. When your 7 year olds say it's not scary, that says enough. Hardly any workers in it to "scare" you.
I will end with recommending Oaks Farm for any day time farm activities. My kids like it 100x better & it's well worth the drive. (Plus, you can pick out a pumpkin for $6 there) Bloody Forks has this place beat on every level as far as haunted activities goes. The staff there is much more involved with the customers & the entertainment while ya wait is amazing alone. (Plus, last year.... We had a kid with us that got too scared to go through and Bloody Forks refunded them since they didn't end up doing it. There's obviously no way Fenders Farm would do that)
They are all about the money, not the customers. read more
