This review has been long overdue. It has been 2 months when I was here. I have to say this was my first and best experience in doing this for me. I never thought I would be doing a boudoir shoot at all but I did it! It had always been on my mind when I would come across this kind of photography through social media. I saw a promotional ad pop up on my IG in description where I would pay a fee of my age and receive a gift. This was perfect so I thought to sign and give it a shot. I just explain why I should get this. Did that and heard back during the week through txt/email? Forgot which one but later found out I was one of the chosen for this. I got a chance to speak with the owner, Jiyeon, and I have to say when speaking to her she was such a delight. So sweet and kind in hearing with what I had to say. Just made me feel comfortable already. So a date was set. A few days after my birthday. I had some pieces ready and bagged with me to take. Honestly I felt nervous when the day came but as soon as I got in everything went by in a breeze. Jiyeon did everything so effortlessly. It first started with the makeup and hair. A makeup artist had done my hair and makeup while Jiyeon had me beforehand take out what was going to be used for the shoot. From there she asked if we could do a red lip since I had asked for a more natural look. I trusted them so I let them go with what would be best. And I have to say glad we went with the red lip. After all of that part was done we headed upstairs for the shoot. Changed after each shoot and article that was changed. Jiyeon directed me with how to pose and of course I just followed. She really made me feel at ease and comfortable in everything that she did. When the shoot was over headed downstairs into her office space where she uploads everything and shows off the photos on a monitor for choosing. I was amazed and happy with the outcome. A lot may think it's pricey for these type of photos but there is a reason for it! Very memorable for the long run on my part. I was extremely pleased with the outcome of it all and it's something that I finally did for myself. I put myself down a lot with how I look but I'm learning (and trying) to get to a place where I can accept myself and work on me. Not to listen to a lot of the negative noise. Jiyeon really made me feel good with this. I am happy to have scratched this off my I guess bucket list. I'd been wanting to do a boudoir photoshoot for years and when the right opportunity came up, I went for it! I'm so glad I decided to do it with Fem Boudoir. As it was my first time, I was naturally a little nervous, but Bianca and Jiyeon made the entire experience comfortable and fun! Wow wow wow! Jiyeon and Amanda were both amazing. I've always wanted to do a budoir photoshoot but never had the courage to do one until an amazing opportunity came up. Prior to my shoot, the fem budoir team will send really informative information of what to expect and helpful guides on outfits, stretches (Jiyeon was right, I was sore the next day ) and pricing packages. I saw a posting in IG for a birthday special Jiyeon was promoting, and from the moment I submitted my form, to talking to her on the form, all the way through the experience, Jiyeon has made me feel so comfortable throughout the process. With my 35th birthday coming up, I wanted to take back my power from a broken engagement years ago, but also feel comfortable in my skin in a more sensual way again. During COVID I had gained weight and while I focused on mentally becoming healthier, I now felt like I needed to be proud of how I looked on the outside. I also wanted to be able to remember in 10+ years what I looked like at my current age. Like Moira Rose says, "take a thousand naked pictures of yourself. You may currently think 'Oh, I look too spooky'... but believe me: one day you will look at those photos with kinder eyes and say 'Dear God, I was a beautiful thing!'" I am so glad I took the chance and opportunity with Jiyeon! Jiyeon was so responsive to all my questions including helping talk me through my outfits leading up to the session. When I arrived, I was swept into hair and makeup with Bianca who did amazing and flexible with tweaking the makeup into what we wanted the look to be. We went for full glam with very smokey eye, and while I wouldn't do that look as an everyday kind of look, it was perfect for the photoshoot! She even mixed lipstick colors for me to achieve the perfect mix. Once hair and makeup was done, I was swept upstairs to the photoshoot. Jiyeon kindly took all my bags (I brought extra outfits in case we weren't feeling my originals that day) and she even laid them and my heels out nicely and cut the tags off any that I missed. Throughout the photoshoot Jiyeon made me feel so comfortable and encouraged me even though I felt nervous. Some of the poses were interesting but I leaned in knowing Jiyeon knew what she was doing. Unprofessional, Rigid Policies & Poor Communication I was initially excited about this studio's birthday promotion. Where instead of paying full price, you pay the amount of your birth date. I paid the deposit and planned to confirm a date after coordinating with my hairstylist, since I'm doing a major haircut for the shoot. They offered me two dates. Friday the 1st or Friday the 8th at 3 PM. I let them know I needed to check with my stylist first before locking it in. Important to note: they have a very strict policy. Once you book a date, you cannot change it without being charged a $250 rescheduling fee, which is outrageous. So I wanted to be 100% sure before confirming anything. I confirmed with my stylist and chose the 8th. But by the time I followed up (still well within a reasonable timeframe), they had already given the slot away without informing me. When I pushed back on how unfair that was, they abruptly canceled me as a client and said they'd issue a refund. I asked for some time, just until the end of the day to coordinate again with my stylist based on their new suggestions, but they were completely impatient and refused to wait. And when I said I'd be leaving an honest review about my experience, they told me I wasn't allowed to. That was a huge red flag. So far, I haven't received a confirmation email about the refund either. Which any reputable business would automatically send. Right now I'm just hoping I even get my money back. Between the extreme rescheduling fee, poor communication, and lack of flexibility or professionalism, I would not recommend booking here, especially not for something important or time-sensitive. Update in response to business reply: Thank you for your response, but I feel it's important to clarify a few things for the sake of transparency. I was very clear from the beginning that I needed to confirm with my hairstylist before locking in a date, especially because your team made it clear that changing a booked date would incur a $250 rescheduling fee which in my opinion, is extremely unreasonable and rigid. I didn't want to commit to a time without being 100% sure I could make it, and I communicated that clearly. I was given two date options and chose the one that aligned with my stylist only to find out later that the slot was given away without any notice. I never claimed that the session was fully booked or the contract signed. I was still confirming logistics on my end, which I was honest about from the beginning. My frustration came from the lack of communication and how quickly your team was to cut ties instead of giving me even a few hours to finalize with my stylist. That's not hostility, that's me feeling dismissed and disrespected as a client who was genuinely trying to make it work. As for the refund, I appreciate that it's being processed, but I never received a confirmation email or any kind of written follow-up, which most professional businesses provide. okay. So, first off- Funny story, I was on my way to her studio like, hella early because I have this fear of being late especially since I didn't know the area. I think I arrived the same time as her but I stayed in my car cause I was shy. BUT- From the moment I walk in, she immediately makes me feel so natural and we talked as if we were just catching up. Doing a session with Jiyeon was the most fun I've ever had! I was nervous at first but she made me SUUUPER comfortable and guided me through everything. WOW! If I would've known this experience would be so liberating and fun, I wouldn't have waited this long to try a boudoir photo shoot. If you've been looking for an amazing photographer with gentle yet clear pose coaching and an inclusive and welcoming presence, I guarantee you've found the gal! Jiyeon found common ground with me instantly, so much so that coming to find how our values and goals aligned in such a short time felt like I was catching up with a good, long time friend. She is special! After a tough year, I started inquiring with photographers in my area and I am SO grateful to have found Jiyeon through a promotion. She managed to work with my schedule on short notice, recommended my lingerie selections according to what would photograph best and worked with my deadline.
