He called me very quickly and the conversation was so different from the other places I spoke with! Instead of just laying out "here's how it works, here's what you get for this price," etc., he asked a lot about what I was looking for, what I hoped to get out of it, my motivations or inspirations, etc. That personal touch carried throughout the experience. He consistently made an effort to understand what I was looking for--from the planning process to the photo shoot to going through the photos afterward--to make sure that I got exactly what I was hoping for. The photos themselves are absolutely awesome. It's incredible the different looks and feels he creates in a relatively small studio. More importantly, he just has an incredible eye for what is going to look good and how to create looks, moods, etc. I felt super comfortable the whole time, and I think that shows in the final product. Everyone who has seen my pictures has been blown away. He's way more than just a photographer; he's a true artist. Yet I can only describe the experience of being photographed by Cheshire as transcendent. It started at 10am with an hour of makeup and hair by an incredibly talented makeup artist who was also kind and put me at ease. This was the first time I've had my hair or makeup done professionally and I have to say I hope every experience is like that! Wow. When I looked in the mirror I caught a glimpse of myself I'd never seen before. It took my breath away. The photoshoot itself started at 11am and we didn't stop shooting until 5pm. We paused occasionally to eat some of the delicious, custom-prepared snacks Cheshire had brought tailored specifically to my partner and me. Otherwise it was non-stop photography using every corner of his incredible studio which deserves its own mention. For its size, it has such incredible versatility. We spent 6 hours shooting and had so many ideas remaining it felt like we could have exhausted another day entirely in that space, and yet each set of photos turned out as if they were shot in a completely separate location. Cheshire is an absolute master of lighting and posing. Cheshire effortlessly communicated what he wanted me to do with my body in a way that was warm, simple, and affirming. I never once felt uncomfortable. I felt like a professional who had so much beauty inside me that he was helping me to express and capture on camera. I had no idea modeling was such hard work, thought! My body was sore and tired the next day (although, after seeing the photos, it was entirely worth it). Overall, the best part of the experience was that I felt like I was collaborating with Cheshire to create art rather than a client paying to be photographed by him. It made the photoshoot (the process, the act of creation) even more special and memorable than the photos themselves, something I absolutely did not expect going into it. And then there are the photos themselves, which I can still hardly believe are real. As a trans woman, it is extremely rare to see on the outside the person I feel that I am on the inside. The set of photos Cheshire gave me a week after the shoot achieved that and more. They remain my favorite photos ever taken of me. They capture sides of me that I've simply never seen on film before or since--that I didn't think I would ever see. Thank you, Cheshire. What a gift.

I brought four outfits from home, but ended up borrowing from the studio one amazing piece. Along with shoes and jewelry this studio was stocked. Christina the owner and photographer was so talented. I never felt rushed. She did not seem like she was in a hurry. She made sure I was positioned to be the most flattering and would help me adjust things as needed. Once my session was over, she explained to me the process for getting my album. She gave me options for the cover and let me choose the photos I wanted in the album. Along with that came a flash drive with all of my photos taken on the day. Within two weeks my album arrived at my door and it is beautiful. I would recommend this studio to anyone who might be afraid to do a session like this. I was never uncomfortable and I'm not normally photogenic. This was a great experience!

This is honestly a hard review for me to write. I did love Denise and her personality, and I loved…read moremy engagement shoot that I did with Katie. But my wedding shoot was extremely, so extremely disappointing. We opted not to have a videographer and told people not to take pictures during the ceremony, so I'm just left with sad pictures( or the lack of pictures I guess). For starters, the photographers were 45 minutes late. I heard there was a lot of traffic, and I wonder if this is the first thing that threw everything off. We initially signed a contract for Denise and Katie as the second shooter, but we found out that Katie was promoted as a main photographer, so there was a new guy. The second photographer was nice but pretty useless. You could tell which photos he shot, and they were pretty poor. He did the groomsmen getting ready, but all of the photos are just close ups. The guys did a pillow fight (tradition with his friends), and every single one of them is just a close up of a man holding a pillow. Also, one of the reasons we chose the venue was due to its interior, and I spent a lot of time looking at wedding photos done inside the building. I remember asking for photos in the hallway and taking a bunch, but I didn't see any. I was told they couldn't shoot properly in there because of the lighting. I'm not sure why all the other photographers from that venue were able to get pictures, but I couldn't. We ended up with a handful of portraits, many of them disappointing because either my hair is blowing all over my face or my husband couldn't keep a straight face. We spent a good portion of our decorating budget on flowers, but I don't have a single photo of my centerpieces. My florist asked to add them to my portfolio, but I didn't have any to offer her. The biggest, most disappointing issue is that there are zero pictures of the whole wedding party, and I don't have a single photo of the whole family. How did that escape people? I wasn't keeping track of each photo, and I really expected the photographers to do that. I don't have one with just my parents or with my sister, who was my maid of honor. These pictures were things I just took for granted. It definitely wasn't because we ran out of time because between the ceremony and reception, I was just sitting around in my room for about 45 minutes. Aside from Denise's personality,  I was extremely disappointed with the whole day.  I even tried to get a refund for the "trash the dress" session I had also purchased and was met with a refusal. They did refund us for the cost of a second photographer though. To this day, I get really sad seeing other great wedding photos and for years thinking about it could bring me to the verge of tears. That being said, obviously I survived and I did absolutely love my wedding. I still have beautiful memories of my wedding, and I'm happily married with a gorgeous kiddo. I just wish I had some photos too.

I've lost 55 pound and wanted that extra boost of confidence so I decided to do a boudoir shoot. I then decided to do some research and look for the best. I came across Joanne who had amazing reviews! I emailed her and she was prompt with a response and gave me a few dates to choose from which required a deposit to hold. We scheduled a consultation where I got to ask all the questions I had and she asked me questions to get to know me. My shoot was very fun. We had lots of laughs.
