My experience with Jason was nothing short of wonderful! He is very professional, genuine, easy to be with, informative and straight forward, and made the whole experience comfortable and FUN! His incredible makeup artist came in and worked her magic quickly and effortlessly. She was sweet and fun and clearly knows her craft (I also have super sensitive skin/eyes and was concerned about the makeup...but I had no issues whatsoever). The rest of the day was a lot of hard work, and A LOT of fun!! It could have been a very vulnerable experience to elect to have, but Jason made me feel so safe and free. My wife & I flew across the entire country just for her to have a Boudoir photo shoot by Jason. We were both nervous, myself more than my wife, but once we met Jason on the morning of the shoot, everything felt very "Right". He was beyond professional, courteous, kind & very uplifting. He builds trust immediately because of the phenomenal artistic passion that he explodes with. My wife felt so comfortable that we had him come back the following day for an additional 1/2 day photoshoot. I ended up sticking around the last 1/2 day to witness the master a work. It was truly amazing to watch home figure things out like a concentrated squirrel on a mission for the perfect photo & he did deliver just that. In the end, this photo shoot was exactly what we had hoped for & Jason is a phenomenal human being. If you want to see the best in action, look no further. Yes, Jason is easy to work with and his passion is clearly evident in his photography. The lighting is great, and so are many angles in which he his poses his subjects. He has a makeup/hair artist he likes to work with and she is efficient and nice. He was on time. He prefers shooting with studio type lighting and he devotes a full day to your session. A few things that would have caused me pause had I known first. - he sort of uses a sales technique I find pushy. Meaning, he prints every single image and puts them in a presentation box which almost makes you feel obligated to purchase them. Each photographer uses their own methods of showing customers their images, but jason doesn't allow you to preview the images and choose your favorites to edit. He chooses and then prints about 25 of them and then you have to drive all the way back to Sonoma to view your images. I found his price structure is on the pricier side, with options for a book, wall prints, and a few others. Of course he can charge what he wants but be aware there are many great photographers who are very reasonable. Do your diligence and add up all the costs so you know what you're in for. I ended up paying a few thousand for just a handful of [useable] pictures - he prefers an in person meeting for the initial get acquainted meeting. This is fine I suppose if you need that to feel more comfortable, but he's in sonoma. Which is a good hour plus from SF or Oakland. For just a meet and greet, which I don't think is necessary unless it's something you really want. - he does not have a studio. Which means either paying high rates for 2 days at a local hotel, Airbnb, or your own place (he prefers to start early which prevents the option of early check in, thus requiring 2 day rental). This adds on at least 800ish to your bill. Keep that in mind. Or shoot at your place. - almost all his lighting and angles are meant to hide the body, or parts of the body. This might be great for you, but he doesn't have much wiggle room beyond that. If you want to showcase something different or get a different feel than what is on his site, it likely won't happen. So make sure you like that look because that's what all your photos will look like. There isn't much variety in your final photos. All in all his pictures are good. There are many excellent photographers out there and if you like his work, go for it. I'm happy with some of the pics but I've had great success with other photographers as well. read more

I had been toying with the idea of having a boudoir photo shoot for years, but it wasn't until I saw Jason's ad that I finally pulled the trigger and booked a session. When I saw the before and after shots of regular women like me, I suspected that he would be able to help me come out of my shell and tap into my inner supermodel. I've never considered myself all that photogenic, or all that conventionally pretty, in all honesty, so I was nervous before shoot day. But Jason and Ducky (the makeup artist for my session) immediately put me at ease with their warmth and good humor. Ducky made me up in such a way that I looked like myself, but totally glammed out, and Jason was a consummate professional. He knew exactly how to pose me to bring out my full potential. I felt super comfortable with him, and I really appreciated his willingness to listen to what I wanted, to give detailed direction, and to give me encouragement throughout our day together. The resulting photos absolutely blew me away. I have never seen myself in such a beautiful, sexy light! This experience has given me a huge confidence boost. At age 39, I feel like I'm in my prime, and I am so glad I now have these images as a keepsake. I highly recommend Jason to absolutely everyone - he is amazing and wonderful to work with! read more

This is not a boudoir review, this is for Jason as a portrait/child photographer. Less than a week ago Jason did a photo shoot at a beautiful spot outdoors of my granddaughter who is 1 year old. He chose the spot ahead of time and he made the whole experience so much fun, especially by coaching us ahead of time on what to do to make the shoot the best possible, right down to how to have her be the most relaxed. I am a middle-aged woman of 54, a mother of 3 adult daughters, and a grandmother to one. Many times, over the years, I considered having boudoir photos done of myself. Earlier in my life, I was curious, yet felt quite insecure. In addition to my insecurities, I never found a photographer who produced classy Renaissance-style boudoir photos of their subjects. Then along came Jason who I was first introduced to when he photographed my eldest daughter's wedding three years ago. This review is over a month in planning. I have tried to write this out a few times and could not quite capture my thoughts the way I needed to and found myself thinking of better ways to express my opinion as I was driving or cooking so since I have done more than enough planning here it goes. I met Jason through a mutual friend Ducky. I have know Ducky for ages, I adore and trust her. Ducky had posted on Facebook that a photographer she worked with (Jason) was doing a casting call for boudoir shoot. I figured why not, I had one lovely boudoir shoot with another of Ducky's photographers and I loved it (that was for my Husband before our wedding). I wanted to do something fun for myself that I enjoyed. Jason has a professional process for signing up for his boudoir photography and it is a well oiled machine. I was chosen for the casting call and I drove to his house for our first meeting. During our meeting I was immediately impressed by Jason and his professional yet open nature and being a social person we hit it off well. He gives you a run down of his plan and makes sure you are comfortable with everything before you set a date for the shoot. I live about an hour and a half away so my photography shoot process and reveal of photos was a couple of months in planning due to my work schedule but even so I was very excited to create photos. I would never classify myself as a stunningly beautiful person, I can mildly agree I am beautiful when I feel like it, my personality is my real draw to anything I do. During my photo session with Jason I knew I was not going to believe that it was really me in the photo reveal. After hair and makeup Jason gives you some guidelines for the way he poses you for photos and cues you in on what he will be creating when taking photos with you. During my session I was excited and nervous but was easily relaxed and comfortable as soon as we started. Jason knows what he has learned as a photographer and what works well in photography and uses it. I have purple hair and it was an interesting shoot with lighting and my hair for Jason to work with but he did work with it and we had fun. It was amazing how fast the process flew by and how well Jason works with everything from lighting to posing and attention to detail to create your photos. Waiting for my reveal was longer due to my schedule but it was well worth the wait. I brought my Husband to my reveal because I felt I would be too critical on myself and although I can respect the photography aspect of Jason's work I was not sure I would be able to fully appreciate my photos. I was mistaken. The magic that was created with Jason was beyond what I was hoping for and I truly love the me that came out in my photographs. I will recommend Jason to anyone who is looking for a photographer for boudoir- or any other form of photography. Jason's personality draws you in and it coupled with his professional approach creates a safe and relaxed atmosphere for photos, plus adds an element of life to what you are creating with him. As I sit down to write this review, a million thoughts are going through my mind. Let me just say that this was not my first boudoir session, my first with him, but not my first photo shoot. My first was horrible. While there were some good photos, I never bought an album. I didn't feel like the photographer really saw me or captured me in a way that I would want to have printed copies. When I sat down to talk to Jason about my wants, desires, expectations and hopes. I really was unsure whether or not I would leave happy. But from the moment that I sat down he made me feel welcome. Offering coffee, and an honest talk about what I wanted. He put all my worries to rest. We picked a place, and a time and I got nervous and excited all at the same time. I left feeling confident that I had made the right choice. I had received the recommendation from my lash girl/friend Ducky. She also is his make up artist. The location I wanted was at the beach, he meticulously checked the weather and gave me updates. As the day approached we made the decision to change the location due to weather. And although this change was last minute, he calmed my fears and gave me suggestions to where we could shoot. Never for a minute making me feel like I was alone in the search. The next day we arrived at the new location, an AirBnB. He brought snack and water, and started coaching me on what to do. We shot for almost 8 hours. From the lighting to having my make up and hair professionally done. I was transformed from an "ugly" duckling into a swan. At the end of the day I was exhausted but satisfied. And the only thing on my mind was my reveal. I showed up to Jason's place a few weeks later and literally cried as I saw the photos. Even the reveal is done with class and as an experience. He TRULY delivered. I saw in front of me some of the most beautiful images I've ever seen. He made me feel special and incredible. I fell in love with all the images that I couldn't leave without purchasing the entire album. He truly is a professional. His photography is amazing. No really amazing. If there was a word better than amazing it would be that. His attention to every single detail is incredible. Every hair, every move, pose, breath thought out. He made me see myself in an entirely new light. The way people see me. The entire experience from start to finish is one that I intent to repeat again. I was left even completely flabbergasted when I found out he loved one of the images so much that the printed it and its now on his wall. He is one of a kind. I was not disappointed for one moment. I know ladies there are a million reasons why you probably hesitate to do one, your not thin enough... you have 10 lbs to lose. Your too old, its too risky. Who would you show the photos to? But let me tell you that I did this for me. Im 170 lbs. Not the thinnest girl, but Jason made me embrace and love all the curves my body has. He made me appreciate them in a way I never could before. Take the chance and book the photo shoot. I promise you wont be disappointed. I would scream this from the top of my lungs for everyone to hear. He left me breathless and speechless. Where to begin. I have always been interested in doing a boudoir shoot. I've seen friends shoots and pictures online just never thought I could go through with it. Jason's Facebook profile popped up on my feed one day and I followed and I was truly amazed at his work. Breathtaking work. I had an amazing time and truly appreciated the professionalism -- it made the experience very easy and wonderful! The unknown makes me uneasy. Oh man what can I say about Jason Guy? There is no words but I will try. I have been recommending Jason since the day I met him, he is very professional, laid back and very easy to talk too. The place we shot at was amazing, it almost takes your breath away. After hair and makeup, he showed me the steps and words he was going to use to help me pose, because let me tell you I am awkward human being haha. He was super helpful and understanding, about an hour or into shooting we had it down. "And that is real life" The final stage of my experience with Jason was awesome, seeing all my photos and him recording my dorky reaction was awesome. I recently had a boudoir shoot with Jason and i couldn't have asked for a better experience. I did the shoot for my boyfriend but at the end of the day it was for me too. From the initial meeting to the end result, Jason was a positive encouraging energy. He did admit from the beginning that he was in charge yet I felt that I had control of my end result. The way he makes you pose and move to the lighting of the room was amazing. I looked better than I ever thought I could look. I brought all my own lingerie but he had thought of other things to bring in case i didn't have something he thought I needed.
