This place is like renting an apartment, but it comes with meals and light housekeeping and laundry service. There are also activities such as exercise room, movie theater room, outdoor barbecue area, piano lounge, and other things to network with other seniors. 24 hour staff will ensure a resident's safety. You can have meals delivered to your room or you going to have somebody remind you to come for meals. Regular outings to the dollar store or the drugstore for residents by way of the private bus. It's all about keeping the residents happy and making it easy for them. The location is really nice, being only a block or two away from world-famous Granville Island. Lots of quiet streets for going walking or shopping. You'll need to contact this business and set up an appointment for your mom or dad to have an assessment. They want to make sure it's a good match. If there's some dementia it's probably not a good match. They cannot keep any of the guests locked in, they are free to come and go, so the resident must know enough to get back here safely. Otherwise it is very safe and secure with somebody at the front desk at all ours who will buzz people in and out. Coffee and snacks available most of the time in the lobby. Nice and clean facility with friendly staff. Don't wait too long to get your family member on board at Terraces on Seventh.

We are ones paying the bill and staff should be nicer. On the good side, some aides are nice to visitors.

There are many common amenities, including a semi-private golf course, clubhouse, tennis courts, pool, wood shop, and craft room with kiln. The community is gated and security needs to be notified of guest arrivals and departures. Only 2 people and one dog/cat are allowed per home, but guests may stay for up to 30 days. Many homes have lovely views of Salt Spring Island, or of the golf course. Unfortunately, the private docks and marina were damaged in a storm and have been removed. There is a boat and RV storage yard and boats can be launched nearby at the Cowichan Bay Marina. There are over 40 clubs and groups to join, including Wine Club, Hiking Club, Bridge Club, and Bible Babes. It is a very WASPy community with very few members of ethnic minorities. Potential buyers should be aware that they will need to adhere to strict community standards for landscaping, maintenance, and quiet hours, or face being reported to the strata council. I have loved my time here so far, and feel I have found the best place in the country to live.
