Yelp My kids have…read morebeen attending this practice for over 6 years now. It was a great experience at first but it has gone downhill since 2020. I have been completely understanding of the shortage in staff and have been very flexible but I have not felt like this had been reciprocated. I had an incident where I had switched insurances and didn't have my insurance card yet so I called with the information prior to the appointment. I got to the appointment and they didn't have the information even though I spent 20 minutes on the phone days before giving them the information. They told me they didn't have any record of my phone call with the office and I felt very gaslighted. They proceeded to make phone calls or look on different date bases to see if they could find the insurance information while I called the insurance to get the new number. I over heard a front desk person ask another front desk person to look under mass health. I then said I knew it wasn't mass health because it was insurance through my place of work. They looked at each other and disregarded what I had said and one of the women said "look under mass health anyways". I am a Latina woman so you can understand how that made me feel disrespected. Not only because I wasn't heard but also because I was stereotyped and even if I was on mass health the interaction would have been enough to make me feel bad about that which is never ok. I have not had an appointment on the time of the appointment for at least 2 years now. They are unorganized and have no understanding or flexibility even though this is a pediatric practice. I am now having to allot 2 hours for appointments to account for the wait time but they will make you pay a $50 fee and won't see your child if you are more than 9 minutes late. Even though I have sat in my car for 25 minutes waiting for them to call me to let me into the building for an appointment. Unrealistic and unprofessional. I will be changing our pediatrician, not because of the doctors or nurses because they have been wonderful but the front desk service is terrible and disrespectful.

They have baseball cards for free for the kids in the lobby. There are also vending machines for drinks and snacks. In the waiting room for ophthalmology, they have TVs and books for the kids(they can take a book home). The wait was brief and the doctor called us in herself. She was super nice and explained everything. The exam rooms were nice and clean, the exam was done efficiently, and I liked that the doctor spoke to my child as she explained everything and didnt just do the exam blindly.

Pure and simple. It absolutely shows in everything they do. The front desk staff know me when I call & know my boys by name when we arrive for appointments. Dr. Bross is so warm & caring. He knows his patients and gears the discussion toward where they are developmentally. My older son has global developmental delay and is medically fragile. Dr. Bross has never missed a beat in dealing with him. He helps talk me through concerns and always reassures me that I know my son best. I deal with many, MANY doctors and I can tell you from experience, this is very refreshing. Maureen, the nurse practitioner, is wonderful. It's hard for me to explain the depth of her caring. Suffice it to say, she has become a third grandmother to both of my boys. I truly consider myself lucky to have found such a caring group of people. We recently moved to Watertown to our "forever home" and I refuse to find another pediatric office. I will trek the extra 15 - 20 minutes to go to Mystic Valley Pediatrics. As for the other more basic things that will play into people's decision of whether or not to choose this practice....parking is easy, there is free parking lot. The office is located right off of 93, so it is easy to get to from multiple locations. They are affiliated with Alewife Brook Pediatrics in Arlington (right on the border of Cambridge on Mass Ave.). Between the two practices, they have coverage every single weekend as well as Monday - Thursday until 7pm. The weekends alternate between the two practices and the physicians are available for sick visits only. Same goes for the weeknights between 5 & 7; they alternate nights (Mystic Valley covers Tues & Thurs and Alewife Brook covers Mon & Weds). That being said, they are able to fit patients in for a sick visit the same day when needed. At most, you'd have to wait until the next day, but we've never had to do that unless I requested it to begin with.
