I was told the bedspread would be replaced and amenities would be brought to the room. U debate the beds were tattooed and torn from the box spring. Both beds were so soft I was in a V position and unable to sleep at all. I was told there were no options and that I could possibly change rooms everyday as other reservations were coming in. I had to check out the next day because I could not sleep in the most uncomfortable beds. The hotel charged me for the full 5 nights. Very disappointing and over valued for what this hotel provides.

I stayed here for two nights while in Seville on account of a recommendation from my Lonely Planet…read moreguide. Though my first night was decent, my second night a couple evenings later was less than satisfactory. I'll start with the good. Their kitchen, though small, is well stocked and has two sets of burners and sinks. Several refrigerators available for guests' use. They have a spacious dining area just outside the kitchen, as well as several PCs for you to use. The location is quite good. You're right next to Calle Alfonso XII - one of the main streets in Seville. Just a few short blocks from a bus station and the Metropol Parosol. Pricing is competitive. Lots of choice for room sizes - from four person bedrooms to twelve. Prices during my visit ranged from thirteen to eighteen euros. Rooms have a pretty good layout. Bathrooms are ensuite, spacious and have bidets and modern showers. The not so good. Make no mistake, this is a large hostel. Do not expect personalized service from the staff or detailed directions. I did not find them welcoming compared to other smaller hostels I stayed at. There is no breakfast or dinner offered during the week - neither included or in addition to the room rates. Never fear though, plenty of food options within walking distance. No social vibe here. With the exception of the bar area upstairs, it was very difficult to meet people. If you don't come with someone, you might be very lonely. On my second stay here, a fellow guest entered the room around 4-5AM, went from the washroom to the shower room and back several times noisily, and by the time he hit the sack, the room absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke from his person. No way was I going to be able to get back to sleep after that - I could barely breathe! Not the hostels fault per se, but perhaps he could have been given a different, empty room for a few hours in consideration of the other guests seeing as he was entering in the middle of the night. Overall, I would not return to Oasis Palace. While cheaper by several euros than the much smaller hostel I spent most of my time at in Seville, you're sacrificing a lot to stay here. The location is good, but could be better. It's very difficult to meet people to hang out with - one of the reasons I choose to stay at hostels. Your mileage may vary.

The first time I was in Seville, I stayed at another hostel and my experience was okay, but my friend and I stopped by Oasis for the pub crawl. Impressed, we decided to reserve one evening here the next time we came around (which was just this past weekend). || The benefits: || * Strong, reliable Wi-Fi. Let's be real, what else matters? * Very close to the city center, so less walking/transportation. * Clean bathrooms and nice showers for a hostel. * Breakfast included! * There's a bar. * Many interesting activities to consider participating in. * Comfortable beds and clean sheets. * Also noteworthy that the beds were sturdy and of good quality, not like cots. * Receptionists are kind and offer an immediate positive impression || The cons: || * Well, I got mosquito bites, one on both cheeks. Which isn't exactly reflective of the hostel. So this is me being opportunistic to complain about my mild suffering. * You have to bring your own locks for your cubby (is this a word last used in elementary school? whatever). In short, I'm pleased with Oasis and would probably come here again. P.S. Bring your own locks for "lockers", which are actually the sufficient empty spaces underneath the bunk beds.

Reception is super friendly, and prioritize your comfort and needs. Finally, there's a rooftop bar that has been a great place to socialize and hang out before the pub crawls. The breakdown of my rating is below, based on things I care most about across hostels. Sociability: 5/5 Free Dinner in two rooms lends itself to conversations. But the best part is the Rooftop bar, a nice little hangout where drinking games are played and the DJ generally plays fun dance beats. Its great for chatting & pre-gaming for bar crawls, and it combines the fun of a party hostel with the comfort and friendliness of a home. Bed, Room, and Showers: 4/5 Each bed comes with a personal curtain. Useful when you have that one roommate with weak-bowel-syndrome. I'd recommend getting the free earplugs. Sound travels from the lobby through the bedrooms. You have to ask for the AC, but at least they have thick blankets (as a recovering sick person, that made my day). Showers were at the end of the hall, usually kept pretty clean. Food: 4/5 The free food is generally pretty good. Personally, I had skipped out on the Risotto days, but everything else has been great (Chicken Pasta, Beef Stew). Being able to stumble home at 4am and chow down some warm beef stew is a HUGE perk. Also, be sure to donate to the chef if you can.

Upon entering the hotel, we were greeted by the concierge, who spoke fluent English and Spanish, and she guided us through the various amenities and nearby sights that Sevilla is famous for. Due to our Marriott Bonvoy status, we were also provided the option of a $20/day (per room) credit towards the hotel's restaurant. The hotel is sparsely decorated, with a minimalist vibe - it feels slightly dated and in need of some new decor. The gym is tiny, with a bike, treadmill, and adjustable weight machine, but served our needs for our one-night stay. There is also a rooftop pool, which is small, but perfect for catching a break from the sweltering Sevilla summer heat! One of our rooms was upgraded to a suite, which was spacious and open, with a large bathroom and a nice sitting area. Our other room with two full-sized beds was smaller, but also had a large bathroom. The rooms are clean with stocked minibars, and complimentary almond cookes from a local bakery are also provided! We tried the hotel's restaurant for dinner the night we arrived, as we had a €40 credit that day between our two rooms. We ordered a Prawn Salad, Ham Croquettes, some sort of Pizza, and a Cheese Plate. The food was solid if not stellar - the seafood in vegetables in my salad tasted fresh, though it was overdressed, the ham croquettes were crispy on the outside and rich on the inside, though overseasoned, and the pizza was fairly standard. The cheese plate was the best dish of the night - with a variety of four different cheeses (with varying textures and tastes), walnuts, and a tart marmalade, this was a great option to share. For four dishes, it was around €70, though with the credit, it was only €30. For breakfast the next day, we returned to the hotel restaurant to use our credit for the day before leaving. The hotel breakfast is extensive, with a buffet-style layout comprised of Spanish favorites, such as jamón ibérico, as well as more traditional breakfast fare, such as scrambled eggs and toast. For those with a sweet tooth, there are assorted pastries and breakfast breads/cakes, and there's also a wide variety of yogurts and fresh fruit for those craving healthier fare. I believe the breakfast buffet option was around €18/person, which is a bit high, but only €8/person with the credit we had! Overall, I would say that the AC Hotel in Sevilla is a great option that was on the less pricey side (book early!) - the amenities are decent, the location is a bit out of the way but quiet and peaceful, and service is kind and helpful.

Furthermore, the hotel is a mere 10 minute drive from most of the best tourist attractions in the Sevilla area. Upon arriving we were greeted by the very friendly concierge desk. Only issue we had during our stay was that the price quoted by the front desk was significantly higher than the one quoted online on the Marriott website. To combat this we had to book online, and wait several minutes for the reservation to, "kick in" with the front desk. Other than the above issue, everything was great at the hotel. The rooms and bathrooms were nice. Room service was 24 hours a day which was especially convenient considering that a lot of restaurants in the surrounding area close by midnight. The hotel also has a sparking garage, and there is lots of near by free stream parking. Only thing I would not do, is get a triple room. It seems the third bed is a less comfortable trundle bed that was just added to the room, and not the standard more comfortable Marriott beds and mattresses.
