The staff is super nice and they really take you under their wing to show you a good time. The owners were there during my stay and the staff, guests, owners and friends all went drank in the rooftop and then went out to see some authentic flamenco together. It was awesome. The rooftop has a bar and is great place to chill and meet people! Truly an awesome hostel.

This hostel blew me away! It was right next to the encarnacion plaza, so it was breathtaking views…read moredaily! It was great to come into a room with all facilities working properly, a decent laundry program and as well as clean bathrooms! The beds were comfortable and it was great to have a comforter with the sheets as hostel rooms usually get cold with the amount of air conditioning they leave on. However, I did notice that it does get slightly noisy at nighttime as the rooftop bar closes around midnight daily and there are also a couple bars right under the hostel. I'd suggest getting a room that is not facing the plaza and away from the streets. The staff is also the best I've seen so far. I decided to stay a couple extra nights and they accommodated me with ease when I requested to not get my room changed and as well as keep the bottom bunk. The free breakfast was also fantastic when compared to other hostels that I've been to. Being lactose-intolerant, the hostel even provided soy milk and other products for those with dietary restrictions, simply unheard of!

We had visited the hostel earlier in the day just to make sure we knew where it was, and ask questions regarding our point of meetup. When the time came, we went to the rooftop of the hostel as instructed and waited. And waited.... and waited. 30 minutes later, we start actively looking for someone to help us. The rooftop was riddled with people (primarily teens) smoking up. When we finally met our bar hop guide, he told us that no one else had registered for the event so it was cancelled. Geez, thanks for wasting our time!

Not too shabby for our first hostel experience. We actually booked via AirBNb which made it very…read moreeasy. My boyfriend and I requested a private room with its own bathroom which was very clean and more spacious than we anticipated. Also worth noting that the rooms all seem to have air conditioning which is a god send in the Sevilla summer heat. The bed itself was very firm (probably too firm for my tastes) with two small pillows. I'm a total pillow hog so I would have preferred at least a third pillow for two people but for the price we paid, beggars can't be choosers. Mikel (the owner or manager) was very very friendly and helpful, and the check/in check out process was easy. Since I've never stayed in other hostels before I don't know if it is common protocol for the keys to be returned as you come and go throughout your stay, but this was the case at La Casa de la Luna, so we had to remember to bring the key with us (and lock our door) every time we left. Location wise this hostel is great if you're looking to see both the Cathedral and the Alcazar which were a quick 2-3 minute walk around the corner.

The breakdown of my rating is below, based on things I care most about across hostels. Sociability: 5/5 Free Dinner in two rooms lends itself to conversations. But the best part is the Rooftop bar, a nice little hangout where drinking games are played and the DJ generally plays fun dance beats. Its great for chatting & pre-gaming for bar crawls, and it combines the fun of a party hostel with the comfort and friendliness of a home. Bed, Room, and Showers: 4/5 Each bed comes with a personal curtain. Useful when you have that one roommate with weak-bowel-syndrome. I'd recommend getting the free earplugs. Sound travels from the lobby through the bedrooms. You have to ask for the AC, but at least they have thick blankets (as a recovering sick person, that made my day). Showers were at the end of the hall, usually kept pretty clean. Food: 4/5 The free food is generally pretty good. Personally, I had skipped out on the Risotto days, but everything else has been great (Chicken Pasta, Beef Stew). Being able to stumble home at 4am and chow down some warm beef stew is a HUGE perk. Also, be sure to donate to the chef if you can.

The rooms were lovely with big lock boxes provided and poofy white comforters. The bathrooms were clean, but again, me and my friend had all of these amenities to ourselves. I would say, however, that the location was not the best, depending what you ware looking for. It wasn't near the very touristy places and took a little bit of a walk to get down there. However, it was pretty near some neat restaurants and bars that seemed to have a more local flavor.

Our four-person dorm room has a private bathroom, which is convenient. The people at the counter aren't the friendliest here, and when we checked in, she wanted us to give exactly €5 for the key deposit; I only had a €50 and my friend had a €10 but she wanted exact. In the end she just told us not to lose the key, which was good enough for us! Not sure whether I would recommend this place, but it gets the job done. At €12 per night, it's pretty cheap especially with a private bathroom.

I stayed here for two nights while in Seville on account of a recommendation from my Lonely Planet…read moreguide. Though my first night was decent, my second night a couple evenings later was less than satisfactory. I'll start with the good. Their kitchen, though small, is well stocked and has two sets of burners and sinks. Several refrigerators available for guests' use. They have a spacious dining area just outside the kitchen, as well as several PCs for you to use. The location is quite good. You're right next to Calle Alfonso XII - one of the main streets in Seville. Just a few short blocks from a bus station and the Metropol Parosol. Pricing is competitive. Lots of choice for room sizes - from four person bedrooms to twelve. Prices during my visit ranged from thirteen to eighteen euros. Rooms have a pretty good layout. Bathrooms are ensuite, spacious and have bidets and modern showers. The not so good. Make no mistake, this is a large hostel. Do not expect personalized service from the staff or detailed directions. I did not find them welcoming compared to other smaller hostels I stayed at. There is no breakfast or dinner offered during the week - neither included or in addition to the room rates. Never fear though, plenty of food options within walking distance. No social vibe here. With the exception of the bar area upstairs, it was very difficult to meet people. If you don't come with someone, you might be very lonely. On my second stay here, a fellow guest entered the room around 4-5AM, went from the washroom to the shower room and back several times noisily, and by the time he hit the sack, the room absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke from his person. No way was I going to be able to get back to sleep after that - I could barely breathe! Not the hostels fault per se, but perhaps he could have been given a different, empty room for a few hours in consideration of the other guests seeing as he was entering in the middle of the night. Overall, I would not return to Oasis Palace. While cheaper by several euros than the much smaller hostel I spent most of my time at in Seville, you're sacrificing a lot to stay here. The location is good, but could be better. It's very difficult to meet people to hang out with - one of the reasons I choose to stay at hostels. Your mileage may vary.

Impressed, we decided to reserve one evening here the next time we came around (which was just this past weekend). || The benefits: || * Strong, reliable Wi-Fi. Let's be real, what else matters? * Very close to the city center, so less walking/transportation. * Clean bathrooms and nice showers for a hostel. * Breakfast included! * There's a bar. * Many interesting activities to consider participating in. * Comfortable beds and clean sheets. * Also noteworthy that the beds were sturdy and of good quality, not like cots. * Receptionists are kind and offer an immediate positive impression || The cons: || * Well, I got mosquito bites, one on both cheeks. Which isn't exactly reflective of the hostel. So this is me being opportunistic to complain about my mild suffering. * You have to bring your own locks for your cubby (is this a word last used in elementary school? whatever). In short, I'm pleased with Oasis and would probably come here again. P.S. Bring your own locks for "lockers", which are actually the sufficient empty spaces underneath the bunk beds.
