The problem is, we already called while this situation was actually happening and tried to resolve it then, and we received no real help. Asking me to call again now feels like a waste of time. It gives the appearance publicly that the company is trying to resolve the issue, when they already had the opportunity to do so when it mattered. If they genuinely want to address what happened, they already have the details of the move and my complaint. I shouldn't have to start the process all over again. We was originally quoted around $370 for two movers. I understood that I would be paying for travel time there and back, but once they arrived at my house, suddenly the pricing was different and there were additional charges, including the truck, movers, travel time, and a $100 deposit. I was in a situation where I needed to move out quickly, so once they were already at my house, I really didn't have much choice but to proceed. What made it worse was that they would not start working until the payment situation was settled, but the clock was still running while we were discussing the charges. Because of that, I ended up getting only about an hour and a half of actual moving work. The most uncomfortable part was when I tried to pay part of the amount in cash. The mover was on the phone with Chris, and Chris wanted proof that I actually had the cash. I was told to fan out my cash and have a picture taken of it to send to Chris as proof of payment. I found the whole situation bizarre, degrading, and extremely unprofessional. I've never had a legitimate business ask me to display my cash and photograph it just to prove that I could pay them. In the end, I paid over $500 for less than two hours of actual work--and all they were doing was moving my belongings from my house into a POD. I went into this expecting the cost to be a little over $350 based on what I had been told, and instead ended up paying considerably more. My biggest issue isn't simply that it cost more. It's that the pricing I was expecting and the pricing I was presented with once they were already at my house were very different. When you're in the middle of moving and need the job done that day, you feel like you're stuck with whatever they're telling you at that point. Based on my experience, I would not use All My Sons again. If you consider using them, I strongly recommend getting every single charge--including travel time, truck fees, deposits, and exactly when the hourly clock starts--in writing before the truck ever arrives.

The Asian male representative immediately got defensive and said that I am just another competitor asking about pricing and that I can get it in the website. I then asked for a manager a then got hung up on. I called again, asked for a manager, and got hung up on again. BEWARE of this business at ALL COSTS. It seems like they customize their pricing depending on how they feel about you since they are not transparent about it straight up. All the other business that I have called straight up tell me that they charge by hour or distance, are straight up about their pricing and are also CLEAR of the different things that can change pricing. Beyond terrible. They did not arrive on the day we agreed…read moreon and did not contact me to explain; I had to do all the outreach to them. After many calls, they finally agreed to arrive the next morning. They sent one poor guy to load everything by himself from my one bedroom apartment. When he was finished he left two bookcases, a vacuum cleaner, a dining room chair, an ottoman among other things. He said he had no room in the container they use. A mover who cannot move all your belongings! Unbelievable! They never even apologized and they will never compensate me. I hired them to move me from St. Pete, FL to North Carolina. Never, never, never again! Next they tried to charge me 0ver $200 for storage. I never wanted storage. That was not in my contract with them. They also charged me $83 for gas excise tax, which also was not in my contract. I had to fight with them to get those charges removed. Next they did not bring my stuff for TWO WEEKS when the contract said I might have to wait for 8. For two weeks I had to call them to find out what was going on, until I emailed a consumer help-line at a TV station, did they finally start answering my calls instead of putting me on endless holds. Turns out they mostly all work from home and don't seem to know what is going on with the moving jobs. Included in this nightmare was 1-800-Pack Rat who also were less than helpful, and College Hunk Movers who had recommended this mover to me. I had had a good experience with College Hunk before and trusted them. No more. They referred me to the worst business I have ever dealt with in my life.
