A shipping store that doesn't sell shipping supplies? Something seems off about that.

Having managed several successful small businesses myself, never before have I experience more…read moreunprofessionalism in my 20+ years of experience. First, their response time for getting back to you with a quote is horrible. And when I finally received a quote, it was not in writing. Second, when the day came for them to move me, they showed up late with a truck that was falling apart. Parts of it were rusting, one of the rear tires on the double axle was flat and hanging on the rim, the gas tank had a piece of plastic stuffed in it to function as a gas cap, and the truck failed to start when they tried to back it up to the storage unit. When the employees called the owner, he cussed a blue streak on the phone and hung up angrily. When he called his employees back again, his attitude was less than professional. The movers themselves were talking about how the truck was unreliable as well. They informed me that the owner would be there in 20 min and I told them to call me when he got there. The next call I received was not from the owner but from the moving crew that had been talking about how unreliable the truck was. I asked them if the owner brought another moving truck or trailer, and they informed me that they had managed to start the truck and were ready to move me. I told them I wasn't comfortable with them using that truck, to which they replied, "F^&K you then." The owner failed to call me at any time to inform me of what was going on or how he planned to complete the move. As a result of their poor customer service, I have now incurred additional storage fees. As a result, I cannot in good conscience recommend this business.

I asked why and Steven said that they had little overhead and were a local family company. I did some research on yelp and google and found every review at 5 STARS!! They are definitely NOT 5 STARS! We tried to support local while saving a few bucks. Don't do it. The movers showed up in a U-Haul, not professional looking at all, just 4 guys one of whom was the owner Steven Eisenach. They took a crazy amount of breaks. Every few minutes was a smoke break. I had to ask them not to smoke in the truck while loading our furniture. Plus they threw their cigarette butts all over the yards and drive ways. In all it took over 10 hours for a 3 bedroom home to go 10 minutes away. After the move we noticed many dings and gouges in the furniture and other items. During the move I noticed a gouge in our downstairs oak door and pointed it out to a mover. I got a shoulder shrug and a "wow! thats bad." After the move we had to repair and paint many scratches in the walls at the old and new home. The worst came as we unpacked. I left my garage tools to unpack last in order to get the house up and running. When I finally got a chance to unpack the garage I noticed many tools missing. I ended up losing many hand tools and some power tools. I have a 4'x8' peg board normally loaded with tools. Now it barely has anything at all. I am finding more tools missing every day. I did reach out to the movers via email and voicemail and have had no response. My wife did some more digging on the company and found a few things. She found that Steven reviewed his own company. And with as many 5 star reviews we believe that most are friends or family. She also found 1 Google review saying pretty much what we say above. They had a couple of tv's go missing. Makes for an interesting read. https://www.google.com/maps/contrib/112013538562282514718/reviews/@42.329958,-89.0485609,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m3!8m2!3m1!1e1?hl=en-US And finally, my wife found a news article on Steven Eisenach. It claims that he was arrested for stealing over $17K in jewelry while working for another moving company. Pricing was competitive compared to other movers I found on Craigslist especially they gave me free in home estimates, on top of that they were available.. lifesaver!! My mom had so much kitchenware and fragile stuff I was stressing out because I had no time to pre-packaged them before the movers came, ended up that the movers were able to carefully wrap them in blankets, and provided bins, wooden crates, basically did all the work. The movers were super cool and polite, especially my mom that can't speak English they were still very kind. When the belongings arrived, the movers even assisted with unpacking everything as well. They were so fast and efficient, everything was brought in carefully without scratching our hardwood floors. Thank you Kerb Movers!!

Moving is always a stressful process for everyone involved, so don't ask your sibling or friend to help. Save your loved ones the trouble, and just hire Kerb to take care of all your moving needs. If you've never hired movers before, it will CHANGE your life! There is something beautiful about just pointing at things, and having people package it and move it. You just can't go back after that. I've hired a bunch of movers in the past, but none come close to the professionalism and kindness of the guys at Kerb. Kerb also does not nickel and dime you for everything. It comes with moving blankets and those plastic wraps for smaller items, free of charge. Highly recommend Kerb for anyone trying to move from Chicago to LA!

They were: organized, punctual, very efficient with time, careful handling our items, respectful, accurate on what they originally quoted us, and just generally enjoyable to be around for an entire day! We not only recomend Hollandale to others, we used them a second time to help with a new furniture delivery when we were frustrated with the retailer's 3rd party delivery firm. Hollandale not only accommodated our short-notice timing, they were comparable in price and we knew it would get done correctly. Don't hestiate to hire them!

I'm too old to be enticing friends to carry my crap up and down stairs with beer and pizza, it was time to grow up. And Long Distance Movers is the company for that grown up move. First they have representatives that will not only quote your move but also check in and stay as your point of contact throughout the entire process. My rep was excellent in following up and responding to all of my questions and requests. He went out of his way to make my requested dates and times work, and that in itself already makes the costs come close to being worth it. But the movers themselves make it a no-brainer. They were courteous, polite, and professional. They also took a lot of time and care into helping prepare my items to go into storage and take the trip across a couple states. I thought I did well packing but they really improved on my work, rearranging and wrapping items that seemed loose or wobbly. I felt everything was super safe and taken care of when they were done. Good people throughout the company and good practices made my move super easy and convenient and the personal interactions make it completely worth the cost. Highly recommended for moving longer distances.

Based on the reviews, we choose Long distance Movers. My parents lived on the 3rd floor of our family building and held years worth of items including a book and album collection as well as some antique furniture items. I worked with the sales team all the way up until the day of the move and made adjustments based on time and necessity. The move time was pushed back several times, which I remained flexible on. The driver (Mike) called me to let me know they were running late, I said no problem. I could tell in that conversation, (Mike) did not sound pleasant at all. When Mike and Alex arrived, it was confirmed, he was not interested in the job at all. The other mover (Alex) was friendlier. I began to show them the items that needed to be packed and I showed them around the property. Mike said we had more than what was listed on the quote. I advised the quote had be revised several times and we decided to not take some of the larger pieces. There was (1) item located on the first floor (that I sent pictures of) and some items in the basement. After showing both movers what needed to be done, I asked if they would rather park their truck in the alley. They agreed and said they would pull around back. THEY NEVER CAME BACK!!! I called Mike several times and did not get an answer...then the calls went to voicemail. I then attempted to call my sales person Matthew and realized the phone number listed does not allow you to enter an extension number. I then tried the representative who called me to confirm the move. I had to leave VM with both and wait for a call back. They were very surprised and apologetic but could not tell me why the drivers left with no notice. I was eventually told they could not "Accommodate" our needs! I completely understand how overwhelming that task may have appeared to someone walking into a large apartment, that wasn't the most organized or tidy, but isn't that what that $4,000+ quote was paying for. What if we had to be out of the property within days? To leave the job and make me wait for 30 minutes in the alley is completely unprofessional. Moving in general is extremely stressful, now imagine being a couple of senior citizens, one of which is a disable veteran battling cancer and being told their movers left without notice!

We decided to go with this company as their pricing was comparable and they had availability for our moving date. Firstly, they were late on the moving day. If you have time restrictions, don't use them. As a company that charges per hour, they milked the hour service. We had pre-boxed all of our small items and moved them right by the door before the movers came. The leader on the job left halfway through loading to get his guys lunch. His guys, in turn, did not know what to do without him. If we weren't there babysitting them and helping with the move, this would have gone unnoticed. Additionally, we were originally charged for their lunch in our total payment which we had to dispute. (The company has since told us they "cut us a break") I don't even get a paid lunch, why should they? We had 3 people of our own helping with the move and this still took 10 hours. Way over the quoted time. They did not have us sign anything, but they, AS THE MOVING COMPANY, loaded our propane grill and said it would inconvenience us to disconnect it. In turn, upon arrival at the new house, it was leaking and could have been a lawsuit. One employee was on his phone the entire time. they only had one guy on the truck at a time. They didn't remove their shoes, they didn't bring the mats from one place to another, and they ended up taking our nice moving blankets. At the end of the day, we consider how our grandparents would be treated in this situation and we will never NEVER forgive ourselves for saying anything positive about this experience to people we care about.

She moved to her new home and this company didn't deliver her goods and didn't answer her multitude of calls and emails. Finally they said they would deliver everything but wanted significantly more money than originally stated. It's months later and my friend's bank stopped payment to try and get things delivered. She is a disabled veteran and a widow who is facing major surgery. Still no delivery and now they want cash or cashiers check. She desperately needs her household goods, most importantly, her spare prosthesis. Changing them is critical so she doesn't get blisters, which has now occurred. This will compromise her mobility. She needs to travel to Seattle for this critical surgery. The people who have finally contacted her all use the name Alex. So she has no idea who she is really speaking with. She still has no delivery date! If this wasn't enough, yesterday she got an email from a person who moved from Alaska to Denver. They used this same company. They were also told they underestimated their costs and doubled their costs! When they started opening and unpacking boxes, they have found 7 boxes of things that don't belong to them. By searching them items, they found information on my friend's bank stopped. These 7 boxes belong to my friend! Luckily they were honest enough to let her know. Still, no dates and no plans for this company to get those boxes sent to her as well. They also refuse to let her pay by credit card. A formal complaint is being filed with FMCSA.
