My son and daughter in law did not have the same experience unfortunately. The crew they had showed no care at all with their belongings! They dropped his $6000 tv while moving it not once but twice and when they got to the new home it would not turn on. They also dropped his dresser, dragged his mattress across the grass giving it grass stains and lost brackets for a Cabinet. They ordered brackets for the cabinet. They sent out someone to assess the repair needed for the Dresser as the drawers don't open and close like they should now. Still waiting on that repair to be done. TV repair man came out and said the TV is ruined and would cost more to fix than replace. Two guys and a Truck responded by telling my son they would give him $3500 which is $2000 less than it would cost to replace it. I originally felt the company showed some integrity in their response to the damage done by their negligent crew but i am retracting that due to their most recent response to the situation. They had said that they were going to do the right thing and make things right, but this is far from the right thing and is definitely not right! Read the reviews on this company and you will see my sons experience is not an isolated incident. Consumer Affairs has 367 one-star reviews. Other review sites are not much different. This company could improve their customer relations just by doing the right thing!

They responded to my request quickly and were flexible with accommodating my schedule. (There was some discussion with the main office about how late the move would go and whether it might keep the crew out past 5 PM, which tells me that they're looking out for their employees--which is important to me.) The crew actually contacted me on the day of the move and asked if they could come 30 minutes *early*--virtually unheard of in any of my previous moves. They got it all done in less than the quoted time, and the guys were friendly and professional despite the fact that it was raining out and therefore not the most pleasant conditions. I also got a call from the main office the day after following up on the move and asking for my feedback. This was a relatively simple gig as moves go (20 some odd small boxes of books halfway across town), but Two Men and a Truck proved themselves capable, efficient, and responsive. I would definitely call them back for a bigger move in the future, and would recommend them to other folks looking for a moving company in the area.

They did know ahead of time exactly what they were moving. The more distressing thing is the condition of furniture that was put in storage. They did not plastic or blanket wrap antique wood furniture, or box lamp shades, so that we have several badly scratched table tops and a broken Tiffany glass lamp shade. They didn't even think to cover the floors moving furniture in and out in the middle of winter when they were going through slush to get to the trucks, and when I covered the entrance they kicked the covering aside and walked on the floor anyway. These guys are young, friendly and do their best, but they are not professionals, and not even trained to move things correctly.

Patriot Moving Systems caught my attention so I called them to get more information. I talked with Dennis to get answers to my questions. He told me they are full service, meaning they will pack as well as move your household contents. You also have the option to do your own packing. One place I called pretty much only loads and moves your stuff so you have to do your own packing. Patriot sells boxes and packing materials but also suggested Home Depot or Lowe's but said he actually prefers and recommends getting these from U-Haul as he thinks theirs are better quality and sturdier. What I like is the way Dennis explained our options without overly promoting materials through Patriot. He also explained the rates for their services. Basically it is an hourly rate per person plus a trip charge and cost of the truck usage. He came out and walked through or house and then was able to give us a rough estimate of the number of hours we would likely need. We planned to use a staging company so we needed to pack some things to thin out certain areas like closets and kitchen countertops. So we arranged for Patriot to send out three people to box and move things into the garage for three hours and that was a big help. They were focused and hard working guys who went practically non-stop for the time scheduled. Whenever there was a question about packing certain items they asked about it. I could tell that they all knew what they were doing, their experience showed and they treated our things as if they were theirs. Delicate items were wrapped well for protection. Our move is currently on hold as we continue to pursue selling our home but Dennis checks in with me periodically to see how things are going. I will update this review once we actually complete our move but we know who we trust with packing and moving our property.
