I call to try to fix the problem and they can't even contact their own pathetic driver. Now I have to drive over an hour round trip to pick it up and they only stay open for two hour periods? Horrible experience!! Ups is way better! Don't use horrible fed ex. They are lousy! *Update* The shipping station that was over an hour away called and talked to me. Apparently the two hour windows that the guy on the phone at the cape store gave me were complete nonsense! They had no idea why he claimed such a thing. The place I had to go was actually open from 9AM till 8PM. The lady at the Seikston location was very polite and helpful and gave me accurate directions on how to get there. I went, they were nice and my package appears to be in good shape. The driver is certainly the issue, as well as the lack of knowledge of the employee I spoke to from Cape. Originally I only gave one star, however I moved it up to two since the hours actually were good, and the lady was polite. I would not recommend FedEx if you want a signature confirmation as the delivery drivers make no to little attempt to actually let their presence be known. If the package is something that can just be left at the door without a signature then they are fine. The employees at the office really need to be taught information about the shipping center so they stop giving out horribly incorrect information such as the weird two hour windows mentioned earlier. Nick at The Printing Plant answered my call, was calm and patient, listened to what I needed, then told me my options--even letting me know he could likely beat online shipping quotes. He even offered free "fragile" stickers for my glass housewares. This is what a customer experience ought to be. We're calling a store to give them our money in exchange for competent professional service. The last thing we want to hear is that you're unable to answer ANY questions about your business. As I'm shipping out to a new location, I wanted to speak with a UPS agent about options for pre-mailing some of my stuff back home. I just called the UPS Store (Carbondale, IL location) and spoke with a young woman who told me, "We're just a retail store (?) and I can't answer any questions about anything. Call back tomorrow and speak with my manager." ??? Why even answer the phone if you "can't answer any questions about anything"? Why can't an employee answer simple shipping questions without having the manager take the call? Very strange. And very unprofessional. I'll be finding an alternative for shipping--maybe FedEx or one of the many smaller shipping options that include storage on the other end. Companies need to realize that customer service is as important as the product being offered.

I have tried to contact their local office which is nearly impossible. The customer service rep I spoke with (not locally) was extremely sweet and tried to be as helpful as possible. I have received deliveries from USPS and UPS as well as freight while waiting for this package and they have stated our paved and plowed roads are unable to drive down and yet my tiny Toyota hatchback that is often referred to as a clown car because of the tiny size of it, can manage to go down the road, in my driveway, and on the main roads which are free of anything. I don't understand why it is always FEDEX I have the issues with. Every. Single. Time. during my remodel it is Fedex that has failed us, made our deadlines pushed out, had us have contractors on site for no reason (even after allowing for a week of extra time for issues with delivery). Basically I loose money every time I the company I order from uses them. I now will go out of my way to contact the company and specifically state I will not accept Fed Ex and we need to figure out an alternative. I don't blame the employees, I am sure they are trying the best they can and are probably already overworked. Figure it out though, UPS and USPS don't have these issues (in my experience) yet Fedex always disappoints.
