I was finally able to get myself to go after the emotional distress it has been causing me. The nurse asked me why I was there and I told her pelvic pain and can't even put a tampon inside of me. Then Ballon-Reyes (I refuse to call her a doctor) came in. She didn't even really talk to me. She just asked me if I was sexually active and I told her I have tried to do it a couple times, but we couldn't even get it in because it was way too painful. She told me she wanted to do a chlamydia test. I told her I definitely don't have chlamydia (I cant even stick a tampon in never mind a p*nis). She told me I had to do it and gave me no choice or say. Practically FORCED me. She just told me to lay down. Did not consult with me or ask me ANYTHING about my history. She tried to stick something in to swab me, but I was tensing up a lot (which was literally the main reason why I came into her office to begin with. She would have known this if she took even a second to talk to me about it). She tried for about 2 minutes or so and got up angrily and said "I'm not gonna be here all morning trying to do this. You're never gonna be able to have s*x like this". I was already crying at this point because she gave me no choice in what she is doing to me, which felt SO TRAUMATIZING and INVASIVE. She left me in the room, bawling my eyes out (she saw me crying), and then I heard her in the hallway talking to the nurses saying "I don't have all morning to waste on her. She didnt even let me put it in." This was by far the worst doctor I have ever been to.

She is also WAY more personable than a typical "in and out in 15 minutes" doctor in today's modern medical system. I have great doctors at Cedars - and she eclipses them ALL ... literally BY MILES AND MILES AND MILES. No comparison!! NONE. I am a 60+ yo woman with excellent health and insurance - but I suddenly had a "downstairs" issue - and no Cedars or UCLA Gyn's were available for two months!!! In "desperation" - I came to Yelp and found Dr. Perlow. I had really not heard of the concept of "concierge" medicine ... but had to see someone immediately. I signed up for her service and as promised by her office staff - she got me in "the next day". The NEXT DAY. Going to see her is FAR more extensive and personal than the "usual" doctor. She gave me a comprehensive "head to toe" exam. Since she is a specialist in many areas beyond OBGYN - she has the experience and knowledge to be able to diagnose and treat special conditions like mine - AND she actually spent time with me to get to know my situation. She has excellent demeanor with her patients, understands a woman's body and hormones and gives each patient the time and respect that they deserve. She was wonderful about having my partner accompany me during a diagnostic procedure in her office as well. For those of you seeing her due to having babies - never fear that this is the only time you can have a doctor this good ... you can see her the rest of your life AND SHE IS SO worth every penny. My partner actually said not to post a review so we can keep her all to ourselves - as she will soon be a new Dr. Perlow patient too! The annual charge for a concierge doctor is pricey - not going to belittle that fact - but I am prioritizing her annual fee into my budget because I feel she is just THAT good and I want to be able to reach my doctor directly (if needed) at a moments notice. You can divide up the annual charge quarterly or semi-annually to make it easier to handle. I feel blessed to have found her - and thanks to her - got treated easily and early for a rare condition that could have developed into cancer. Cost of that? Priceless. And PS - the negative reviews here??? Read them closely ... they all have to do with HOW BUSY she "was" and how difficult it "was" to get in to see her BEFORE she became a concierge doctor - SINCE SHE WAS (is) SO popular!!!! There "IS" a reason why she was / is so popular that she can now charge an annual fee - because she is the BEST, most caring and personal doctor you will ever have - at any life stage you are in.
