I just left the Crash Test Dummies concert. There was NO BASS GUITAR until the last song in the encore. From the start of the set until the encore, the sound was completely flat. It was murky and you couldn't tell the difference in sound between the piano, lead guitar, acoustic guitar, or accordion. It was all just one volume and a steady mess. I brought 7 guests with me as this was the 8th time I've seen Crash Test Dummies in concert, and my guests were extremely disappointed and did not enjoy the show. The band brought a great performance as always, but this venue is complete garbage when it comes to running sound for a rock concert. I will NEVER go and see another rock concert at this venue and neither should anyone else.

I've worked with them since COVID and found their safety practices impeccable. They supported my decisions to keep our casts masked through rehearsals and conducted regular testing providing tests to us. We were worried about getting there early to get good seats. Really you don't have to worry about that. It's a small and comfortable theatre and you will easily find a good seat. It's well maintained and clean. One complaint is that it was extremely cold. Maybe the performers need this which is fine just wear layers so you don't freeze. The theatre seems to be sort of in the middle of nowhere. We were wondering where we were going!

I am the person referenced as the Director in her review and find this to be completely unnecessary and frankly against everything that community theatre stands for. The AUBURN AVE offers a wide and diverse season of shows that play to and involve people of all walks of life. Community Arts as a whole is often mis-labeled and expected to be held to the unrealistic standard of professional theatre. We all have a place in this community and it really upsets me that people don't see the importance of exposing people to the arts. Everyone in the community get a chance to be involved and THAT is what strengthens and builds a community. The review posted earlier today (1/7/22) was disrespectful, unfounded and in poor taste. I have been in touch with the man in charge whom just finished a sold out production of ELF the musical. This not only had the largest cast but also managed to succeed despite Covid 19 restrictions and it being performed during the hectic holiday season. I hope that people will read this and realize that the arts are what make us human and help us to explore , dream and connect. Anything that stops that is taking us away from its purpose. We were invited by a friend to see Matilda: The Musical. He is in the show and it was a treat to see him perform. All the staff we encountered from the ticket takers to the concession staff were super nice and friendly. The concession lines were well staffed and moved quickly which is important with showtime swiftly approaching. This theater is easy to find with ample street and lot parking. The lobby was adorned with festive decorations for the Holiday season. The theater seating is a bit dated and cramped but all had good views of the stage. We loved the performance and were enchanted by the acting and singing and sets. The cast came out after the musical was over and mingled with family and the audience in the lobby. This theater really has a lot of love and character and it shows. We will definitely return one day and encourage others to do the same.
