It took us a little while when working with Fedelta to find a caregiver who fit our family. However, when we found her we ended up with a terrific caregiver. We could not have been happier with her. We had some difficult communications with the accountant assigned to our family. In a span of about four months we only had to inquire about two bills, but the accountant took a long time to return our emails or phone messages. One time, information she gave us proved to be incorrect, but eventually everything got sorted. I just found the accountant to be less responsive than one would expect in a customer service role. It took longer than expected to see action on the return of the remaining balance of our deposit. However, I received an unexpected call from Fedelta, apologizing for the delay, and all ended well. The most important part of our relationship with Fedelta was the simple fact that they had a caregiver who treated my wife as though she was the caregiver's mother. While this extraordinary woman was with us, she became part of our family. What more can one ask. read more

I would not trust my dog's health to this company, much less the care of my loved one! Steve runs a super shoddy business. At the time we received services from this agency that calls itself 'home health care,' the lead pediatric clinical manger had already been sued in the state of Washington for shady business practices, having previously run her very own home health agency. The primary concerns we have regarding this agency are: 1) Untrained nurses are sent to severely compromised patients. The agency merely "throws" them into these complex medical situation- untrained and unsupported. It's a "sink or swim" mentality, much to the horror and risk to the patients, their families, and seems to also traumatize those nurses who actually care about their license. 2) Tell their nurses they may leave the premises for breaks, regardless of client situation. We had a nurse leave the patient and step out of our home *not even letting any other responsible party _know_ that she was headed out*!! The patient would have been left unattended for 30 min or more had I not caught her on the way out the door! This client is *not* one you can just leave unattended. 3) Totally chaotic scheduling practices, with no digital scheduling. Everything is done by Dwayne via voicemail or text. Well, Dwayne is just a poor sod with a bazillion things on his mind, and can't get a grip on all the scheduling difficulties. There's no master schedule the family can refer to. It felt like our house was a revolving bus station, and we never knew who was coming, when, and whether the shift actually existed. Tons of no shows and communication breakdowns. Scheduling with Fedelta is like Russian Roulette. If your family can handle this kind of uncertainty- they are the agency for you! Anyone else who is actually trying to secure good care for their family member while still keeping a day job or other responsibilities- better go elsewhere! 4) Expectations that family, not other professionals, will train their staff. I actually provided more than 76 hours of my own time to train their nurses. ONE time I was out of town and hired another nurse (from another agency) to train the Fedelta nurse who had not yet completed her training hours. I informed Fedelta about this DAYS in advance. They totally ignored it, until they realized they couldn't bill for the nurse's training time (mind you, they are not actually allowed to bill for time a nurse is training and not charting, so they were in violation of the WAC), so then they told me AFTER THE FACT, that I owed them private pay for that time. Altogether, my impression is that this agency was rife with problems even before they sought to capitalize on the huge deficit in pediatric nursing, but things only got worse when they entered pediatric care. They were probably abusing elder home care for years. Now they have decided to take their crappy business practices into the pediatric arena, and hopefully no one experiences dire consequences. First, finding in-home care professionals in general is VERY hard right now. I acknowledge that. I also acknowledge our care needs are probably atypical (needing only a few hours a day, three days per week). However, there were several inexcusable issues resulting us no longer doing business with Fedelta. 1) Our care plan stated that the caregiver had to be vaccinated. The caregiver who had been coming for over a month let us know, after months of caring for my father, that she was unvaccinated. Our care manager confirmed that our care plan stated that and that it was an oversight on their part. That alone is enough. 2) The care manager told us during our assessment that she would be the backup if a caregiver was unavailable. Not once in the several months we used Fedelta did the care manager fill in for absent caregivers, leaving us in a difficult situation more than once. 3) The care plan provided was reviewed and approved by Fedelta, but caregivers were unwilling to do many of the tasks in the plan, even when asked to do them explicitly. While our care manager was informed, and she seemed genuinely concerned about the quality of care being provided, we consistently had poor caregiver after poor caregiver, and the care manager never proactively checked in on the work being done to ensure they were completing the care plan as agreed upon (and were charged for the time). We were charged $55/hour for work the caregivers weren't willing to do, that we ultimately had to do ourselves meaning we paid Fedelta for us to do our own tasks. If you need care that will be ongoing for a longer period of time, consider Assisted Living (AL) communities. When doing the math necessary to ensure a consistent quality caregiver (say, $40/hr * 8 hours per day * 30.5 days per month = $9,760/month, and my $40/hr is assuming they discount significantly on more total hours of care), AL turned out to be cheaper with a better quality of life (Murano @ ~$8k/month, Merrill Gardens @ ~$6k/month). You'll also have much less of a headache for sure. read more

My home care advisor recommended Fedelta when I suddenly needed 24 hr care. I am certainly glad she did. Fedelta provided excellent service on very short notice. Mary M was sweet, gentle, responsible, thorough and very knowledgeable. She was everything I want in a caregiver and I would certainly want her to be on my health team again if I need more help from Fedelta. Leonda was easy to talk to and have fun with. I would also be happy to have Leonda on my health team. The organizational staff is expert at crisis management and handled all my peculiar needs quickly and efficiently, including specifically finding a caregiver who would treat my senior citizen greyhound with the same caring affection that she gave to me. I have found Fedelta to be helpful. I have an elderly friend they take care of when I cannot. There have been a few billing glitches that they took care of right away. As for the care givers, our biggerst problem has been the rate of turnover at Fedelta. It seems they have tourble keeping caregivers for my friend. I am not sure why this is. I know my friend can be a pain sometimes, but that is what they are supposed to be adept at handling. The could more to ensrue the care givers stay steady, also, for those caregivers with foreign accents, they should give them some lessons on communication as sometimes the care givers they ahve sent me have been difficult to understand although they did a great and caring job. But for an older woman with dimentia and one deaf ear, it can be difficult to understand someone with a thick foregin accent. I am not comsiderign switching at this time. Thank you, read more

Fedelta was a great help when I was taking care of my wife through a difficult illness. I wanted live-in aides, and it was important that they understand written English well because my wife was unable to speak. Fedelta took about a week to line up two aides - one was an LPN and the other was studying nursing in college. They staffed my job with just two people, so the same two people were there from week to week. This was most helpful. The nurses had the opportunity to get to know us and to understand my wife's needs. We did not have to continually teach new people what she needed. And they really did have strong written English skills. I was impressed with everyone I met from Fedelta. I chose them after asking home care advice from a friend who works as a cancer nurse. That friend surveyed her contacts at work and suggested Fedelta and one other company. I also asked two social workers at Group Health and they both suggested Fedelta and different other companies. Fedelta came up over and over in the recommendations, so I went with them. I saw some other comments here on Yelp about Fedelta being disorganized. That was not my experience. The nurses showed up when they were supposed to and kept good records of my wife's complicated medications. I think it probably helps if you can contract with Fedelta before you are in a desperate situation. I did not have any billing surprises. They billed me like they told me they would. Fedelta made a difficult situation a little easier to deal with. I recommend them. read more

My experience with Fedelta so far has been really good. There have been a couple caregiver changes since we started using them to help out my mom in October of last year, but each one (especially Teresa!) has been great. I have had a couple of billing problems - but they were minor. Julie(?) in their accounting dept. has always been very good in resolving my issues. Maybe I'm just lucky? Thank you Fedelta for providing me 5 star care after my total knee replacement on August 15th ! Jane, the MSW greeted me the morning after my return home with an amazing ability to understand what my care giving needs were . The RN from Fedelta arrived soon afterwards with knowledge of post surgical care and further information on meds, especially the pain meds which must be respected . She organized my post op meds, including blood thinners, etc.....The pill box seemed very organized and I appreciated that ! Then a wonderful caregiver , Sulayman arrived who whipped me into shape with kindness and support as he encouraged me daily to do the painful post op exercises with his guidance for the past 2 weeks ! I will begin formal Physical Therapy this week , strong and ready after the support that I have received! For those of you who have used Fedelta recently, I urge you or your financial person to take a good look at your billing from Fedelta. For those of you who are considering using Fedelta, please consider their treatment of my billing. When I was released from the hospital Feb. 22nd, I contracted with Fedelta for approximately 5 days/4 hours per day for an aide. I cannot say enough good about these ladies---gentle, competent, caring, on time. I wish I could say the same about this company's sense of financial responsibility. Immediately they asked for a $300 deposit, which I paid. I then paid two bills for the hours worked. The last day of work was Feb 26th--and I had called to tell them that I was no longer needing an aide. Well, folks, it's now 60 days that they have held my deposit because, according to someone in billing, of an "internal glitch": they hadn't recorded that I no longer was being "serviced" by them. AHHHHHHHH. I did call week of April 14th to inquire and to request the refund be in my hands by April 20th... Nope, the grasping fingers which demand immediate deposit will not let loose of that which they now have but which isn't theirs. I have contacted the appropriate State agencies as well as Group Health. For Shame! I do urge anyone using Fedelta to be very, very vigilant about billings and refunds. $314 is not small change---and generates interest as well--but not for me----YET!! read more

My Mom is in Hospice care at home. Fedelta has great people for daytime hours, but the overnight help has been hit or miss. Last night, the new person sent over wouldn't come in because we have a dog. Fedelta said they would send someone else out, but no one showed up. This is outrageous! When we started with them our hope was to have consitent care. While that is somewhat happening during the day, there have been many, many newbies. This is stressful as you have to keep repeating where things are. Plus, with my mom deteriorating, the slew of new faces and ways of approaching her have made her more than a little anxious. Look for more options before you try Fedelta. read more

Be careful! My mother-in-law lives in a very nice and expensive senior living facility. She was needing daily help and we hired Fedelta to assist her 5 hours a day at $60 an hour. They were hired to help her get dressed appropriately, keep her wardrobe clean and make sure she takes a daily bath. $300 we paid a day to make sure she and her clothes were clean and she looked presentable. There was a stretch of two weeks that the care provider phoned in to say she was on the job but never actually went. Since then, we have learned of two other instances where the provider did not bother to show up. You need to watch these guys like hawks! Or, better yet, find someone else that is more responsive to $300 per day! We are going with another provider and are in discussion with the WA Department of Health, the licensing agency for this type of care. read more

My father is a veteran and we are using Fedelta for respite care for him so our mom can get out. The caregiver Cameron is amazing. He was able to hang out with our dad and put him at ease. Used 3 different caregivers during rehab from surgery. All of the caregivers were nice and kind hearted. However, none of them were very sanitary and none of them were very motivated to do any more work than the minimum they could get away with. I needed help with using the bathroom and the caregivers did not practice even normal sanitary practices that an untrained person would practice. They did not wash their hands prior to touching other objects in the house after helping me in the bathroom. Basically all the caregivers did was help me get to/from the bathroom. The rest of the time, which included one day and four 24 hour periods, the caregivers attended to their own needs which including resting, reading, eating and watching television. On the occasions when they offered to do light housework they did such a poor job it wasn't worth suggesting again. I was also billed incorrectly and mislead on the charges. My deposit was not subtracted from my bill. I had to spend a significant amount of time on the phone to get the charging straightened out. I would not use Fedelta Home Care again if I need at home care. I would look at other in home care. read more

Our family needed professional care for a parent with Alzheimer's. Although the mission statement of this company is impressive and the people seem nice and understanding, if you are looking for a reliable, professional caregiver DO NOT choose Fedelta. If you are a caregiver and you need help or relief periodically for errands, appointments, etc. you cannot rely on this company to be reliable or to understand the importance of putting your mind at ease as soon as possible by confirming with you a caregiver will be sent for the dates/times requested. Initially we were sent a wonderful caregiver named Rhoda, who worked out very well for the first two weeks we needed assistance. After that Rhoda was unavailable. I called Fedelta on four different occasions for a caregiver. Each time I was told by Sarah they would be getting back to me and each time they did not get back to me; I had to keep calling them to see if they were sending someone, getting profuse apologies each time, along with assurance that was not the "Fedelta way". That said, once again I called twice for a caregiver and they did not send anyone at all, as requested. Lobbying a complaint is not something I enjoy or care to do as I understand that at times there are extenuating circumstances I may be unaware of. However, one of the last times I requested someone, the person that was sent to my home was very clearly not a professional which put me in the embarrassing situation of having to send the person away. When I felt I had no choice but to call Fedelta and express dissatisfaction, they initially told me I would still have to pay for the 4 hour minimum. After speaking with one of the nurses to try to get through to someone at Fedelta how badly we needed help with my parent and how I expected not just rhetoric but actual follow through with a professional caregiver as promised, Sarah at Fedelta assured me that I wouldn't be charged and they would send someone the next week and would call and let me know what day the person we requested was available. I did not hear back from anyone at Fedelta at all. I called to ask again if I could please get a caregiver for the next week, again all apologies and told that they would get back to me. They did not get back to me or send anyone. Finally at the end of trying to work with Fedelta over a four month period, I called Fedelta to ask when we could expect our deposit of nearly $1,000. returned as promised by Fedelta "within 30 days". I was assured I would be getting it in the mail immediately; I have not as of yet. I explained to Julie our unhappiness and utter frustration with Fedelta and that we would not be using their service any longer. Julie assured me she would relay our complaint and someone would be getting back to us. No one from Fedelta has ever gotten back to me. read more
