First off, we waited in line for a good hour. It really shouldn't take that long to sell people a $20 ticket. There needs to be more windows for ticket selling. The actual houses were just "meh". I consider myself a wuss when it comes to being scared, but I didn't jump or scream once. Some were nicely decorated. I do not remember which house it was, but I think there was just two actors in the entire house. What a bore. It was also fairly bright in most of the houses, kind of kills the scary vibe. The price is just right for five houses. Fright Town is about double the price for less houses. We won't be back. read more

We had to much dead space throughout the 6 houses which lead to wasted scare opportunities. Too many decorated dummies through out the houses. This haunt is awesome every single year. This year was no exception to that, but more importantly they were incredible with their Covid precautions. We do enjoy coming out for the haunts. We always have a good time. We came out for "Til death do us part" , while we enjoyed it , we do disagree with the fact that an infant was allowed in. It became a sort of distraction. I get people want to go , but a haunt isn't really meant for a baby . Other than that still a good time. read more

It's a really good haunted house!!! Don't listen to all those negative reviews. It's pretty scary but it's nice and reassuring to know they can't touch you. The makeup and props were awesome and it's a pretty long haunted house with 5 different sections. Everyone complains about the line but if you come a little before it actually opens (7pm) it's really not that bad of a wait. They have two food booths and a small little circus act to watch. Some characters come out to the lines and scare you before you even get in which is pretty cool. I wasn't disappointed. read more

Made me sad. I love haunted houses and want to wish them all the best... but this place was one house not the four advertised. I even called before going to check it would be okay to go (special needs for a ptsd partner) sadly we were left off the path after being told "oh this is the extra house you paid for just stay to the left" somehow even without removing a hand from the left wall we got a early exit and had about 8 minutes entertainment (being skipped a lot as groups were pushed in front and behind and never getting a jump scare) for $80 for two adults. Having been to every Haunted house Portland has to offer this year.....this place freaked me out BAD. I was pushed to the front of my group where a Werewolf scared me to the point of pissing myself. Then had to walk through zombies that had way to realistic makeup (some crazy female zombie made me piss again) then through a totally nightmarish fun house haunt...by this time I'm not sure what happened next, I have lost my voice... I sleep with the lights on now. So if you dont want nightmares... Don't go!!! I think I'll stick to Oaks Park!!! read more

Ok obviously you can't please everyone. My husband was a military police officer and they used to do training in warehouses with strobe lights so he didn't jump once...If that is your personality type then these kinds of attractions probably won't live up to your expectations. I, on the other hand, lost my last nerve in that place. There are jump scares everywhere, the actors are great, and they use many different sensory stimuli to achieve the spookiest vibe possible. There were even a few times where you have to walk through areas where the material clings so tightly to your entire body that you feel like you are suffocating. I almost couldn't do it. Well done Fear PDX! My only reason for giving 4 stars rather than 5 is because their new Extreme Haunt feature really needs some tweaking. There is absolutely zero light. I mean ZERO. No black light, no night light, no glow light - nothing. Our group got separated from each other and so turned around that I think we actually went behind a divider we weren't supposed to go through and possibly missed half the attraction. Maybe an arrow or something guys? To help those of us who aren't echolocating... otherwise worth every penny! read more

So much scarier than the other haunts we have tried in the area (and believe me we've tried the majority). I never jump, scream, or get scared at any of these and they actually got me a few times! We also love how long it takes to get through all of the different themed areas. All of the others are so short. You can tell they've put a lot of time, money, and effort into this. The costumes and masks are so good. I also loved that even when we hung around for a bit, they were still giving us attention along with the new people coming in. Good job guys! read more

I've been to a few haunted houses and this one is pretty good but certainly not the scariest I've been to. The actors are well dressed and in character, the decorations are good but not as convincing as they could have been. I think making it darker, adding more sensory stimulations (like smell and temperature), and keeping groups spread out would help add to the anticipation of getting scared. If I can see and hear what's around the corner, I'm not going to get as good a spook and that's really what I want. The inflated walls were awesome and the feeling of claustrophobia was a new kind of terror. The animatronics sounded mechanical and clunky so the ambience was immediately lost. The last good haunted house I went to was FrightTown so I think my bar was set too high! Overall for the deal we got on VIP tickets, this was a fun Halloween attraction. It's pretty hard to scare someone in 2019 who pays attention to current events. read more

Ordered our tickets online (fairly ambiguous as to whether this helps or not) and paid the $5 convenience fee which as far as I can tell only sometimes helps you get in faster. We went to the "front" and still waited for an hour and a half. Pretty expensive for just a decent haunted house. It wasn't bad or anything but they really only have two cards to play (mild claustrophobia and flickering lights). Not a terrible place but I suspect there are better alternatives. read more

FearPDX absolutely does NOT live up to the hype it has generated. We stood in line for over 3 HOURS. There was no organization or direction to tell anyone where to stand if you already bought tickets online. Once we finally got inside, it was just props hanging from the ceiling and hitting you in the face as you walk through. I'm also over the giant inflatable walls you have to push your way through as if you're being born in to the world again. I also didn't appreciate going def at one point due to a loud explosion going off right by my ear. For all the advertising and stories I have heard in the past about this haunted house...I was extremely disappointed, and will never be going again. They weren't prepared for the crowds that showed up tonight, and the lack of organization and imagination for each section of house was not worth the money or time wasted. read more

DONT GO. Waste of $120. VIP tickets are a waste of money. Crowded, had to follow in line in the haunted house watching the scaring happen. Not worth it and let me tell you why. First off, when purchasing the VIP tickets it should include the FEAR photo, that's just my opinion, second when purchasing the ticket it said bonus haunted house For extra fee, I paid for it and never seen no "extra haunted house" only went through one haunted house, when on the website it advertised 3. Anyways.. My boyfriend and I went last night, paid for VIP tickets to avoid the line, we get there around 11:25 or so, immediately noticing there is no clear signs on where to go, we walk around the building & the general admission line started behind a semi truck. We walk up to a gentleman tell him we have the VIP tickets, and we're told to walk through the gates. We get in, get the FEAR picture taken, and head through the haunted house. From the time we got in which was probably right at 11:30, we got back to the car at 11:49. A total of 19 minutes. Are u kidding me. And we were following people through the haunted house! when we stopped to let them go ahead for a bit, we took out our phone to take a few pictures of the artwork and the walls, and we're told very rudely by a security guard that if we didn't put our phones away he would escort us out, then he began to stall ahead of us watching back at us, making it very uncomfortable and not fun at all. As far as the haunted house goes, there needed to be more people scaring, the workers seemed like they were low energy by that time when scaring, and there should be more working controlling the flow of people going into the house because trailing people and knowing where the people are going to scare from kind of blows. Especially paying $120 Not being able to take your own photo is also really upsetting especially if your customers liked your attraction, overall, WASTE OF MONEY. DISSATISFIED. My 13 yo daughter loved it. It was a bit of a hassle tho... super unclear about what to do. We had e tickets bought online. Do that for sure. Not much assistance to know where to line up. Huge wait. I figured out that e tickets have a different line but it's all squashed together. May have ended up in vip line? Anyway. Once past box office it's cooler. DJ and stuff. Once inside it's a pretty good haunted attraction. Not great. But fine. Having gone to several big Halloween Haunts in recent years such as Universal Studios Hollywood Horror Nights, Knotts Scary Farm and Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare, I wasn't expecting to be blown away by a smaller haunted house. First of all, I bought my tickets online and was thinking that I could go to this haunt and head straight for the line. Which is true, but it was the regular box office line. To exchange my printed online ticket for a regular cardstock ticket. What was the point of purchasing online when you still had to wait in line to get a regular admission ticket? There was two options, general admission and VIP. VIP ticket holder were allowed to go straight to the front of the line. Which is OK, but if there was a long VIP line, ALL would go through first before any general admission ticket holder would be allowed to go through. Not cool in my book. A reputable place would alternate admission between the two. Anyway, there are a total of five haunted houses here. Each with a separate entry. The first I entered was named the Condemned. Nothing scary about this house at all. Very scarce with actors. If I had to say what was truly scary about this house was waiting in line to get in where there was 2 electrical boxes with exposed wires. Whether they had live wires is unknown but cover that shit up. Safety hazard!!!! Second house was called Blood Moon. Long line for what seemed to be less than a minute of walking through. Third house was Festival Of Freaks. I actually enjoyed this house. First you walk between through, what seemed to be, giant air bags for quite a distance. Then through the maze of curtains, flashing lights and actors. Before you exit, you walk through another set of air bags. (To compare, if anyone's ever been to Rob Zombie's Great American Nightmare, you walk through a giant vaginal canal, something similar to that.) After that, I was done. Lines were too long for such a short time inside each house. I will say that there are no dates written on the tickets so I guess you can go back on separate nights as long as you have skulls on your ticket. Each ticket has five skulls on them, each time you enter a house, the attendent rips off a skull a just throws it on the floor. Litter bugs!!!! Before writing this review, I did check out their Facebook page to see the reviews there. It claimed to of had 4 of 5 stars rating. I can't believe that to be true because some of the reviews were made 7 months ago. Who writes a review for a haunted house in March? Others were employees of FearPDX. Bias? Not as good as prior years. There are lots of haunted house options don't waste your money. Seems people were spread thin and the new attractions were very poorly built. Bought VIP but attraction opened late so we ended up in a large line of VIPS. When attraction finally opened newly arriving "VIPs" were allowed to skip the line of VIPs. In one of new attractions the actor did not see me came out to scare my wife and her younger sisters and ran into me. I jumped out of the way and said I am sorry. After security comes and tells me to watch myself he was told I was "stonewalling" his actor. A sorry we will be more careful was what he should have said. Went here last night, i went to the house of shadows last year and woah that was great. Fear pdx was okay my brother bought me the VIP pass it made no difference there was only about 7 cars there so maybe that was why, it was honestly a lot of empty buildings, barely any actors... Wow, what a disappointment! We went on Halloween and expected it to be busy. Waiting in line for an hour wasn't a surprise. If it had scary it would have been worth it. Most of the haunted houses only had a few employees (monsters) and we spent the time walking through burlap strips into room after room. They had these bladder blow up rubber tubes. They squeezed as you had to walk through them, they used them too much through the houses. I could only think about the germs as we had to walk through them . Will not go here next year. read more

We felt like this haunted house was very well put together. Great props, actors, and themes. Clowns were a little intense in light of the recent clown threats but otherwise great! If you arrive 30 min before they open, the wait isn't long. The difference between a VIP and standard ticket is 20 min or so once you have your ticket. I'd definitely recommend checking it out if you like a little adrenaline rush. read more

Was excited to go to a haunted house but was greatly disappointed because it was not scary at all. First of all, the first house was pretty scary but after that it was not. Second of all, one of the houses were absolutely pitch black and we could not see where we were going and kept hitting walls. Plus, there was nothing in that house at all so it was just a waste of time and a bunch of bruises. Thirdly, they told me they were not allowed to touch me and some of them did. All in all, it was a waste of money and not scary at all. If anything, this event would be worth about $10. I hope no one spends $30 on this boring haunted house. If we were not screaming, we were (nervously) laughing as we went through the 3 separate areas. We liked having it broken up into 3 attractions/adventure as it gave time to catch our breath before going into the next. The animatronics and actors were excellent!! Fear pdx is a all around experience, I went October 1st, the second weekend it was open. The build up is unimaginable from the moment you pull into the parking lot. It did not disappoint the actors were amazing, the decor was amazing, the sound effects were amazing. From crawling under dead bodies to walking through pitch black rooms this is by far the best Oregon haunted house I have been to. Above 13th door, fright town, and house of shadows. Recommend to anyone looking for a thrilling experience. Worth the 25$ read more

We visited Fear Pdx for our first time last year when they were at the Vancouver location a smaller venue, only 3 haunted houses but it was 100% better than this year! Last year they spaced out the groups going into the houses so you got to enjoy your scares instead of being all bunches up with so many people in front and in back of you. This year they seemed to be rushing everyone thru like cattle....barley any actors inside the houses to scare you, the houses were very small and you were thru them in less than 5 minutes. It seems like they wasted too much money making it BIGGER and lost the purpose, making sure their customers get what they came for a great time and a great scare! There were no signs telling you where things were or what was happening ... very confusing. We were so excited after our experience last year, to do it again this year, definitely a HUGE let down ! We stopped going to the other 'big haunted house' in pdx because of this same reason. We definitely wont be back next year and won't be recommending it to anyone !! This was a HUGE waste of money. I was so disappointed. As per a prior review we went on a SATURDAY NIGHT and there were hardly any actors in the houses. We waited in a 30 minute line at both houses we went through and decided to leave. We figured it wouldn't get much better for the 2 hours we'd have to spend to find out. Just not worth it. I give this place 3 out of 5 stars. The three stars are for the gentleman that scared my friend so bad that he took a huge Taco Bell in his pants. Those three stars also include the feeling of impending sobriety that came from not having enough to drink before I went into this haunted house. Moreover, I would suggest to make this haunted house more fun, to slam several shots of 151 and chase it with rubbing alcohol and then spin around in circles until you can't feel your cheekbones. I would have to deduct two stars from this haunted experience due to the fact that they did not provide a change of pants for my friend who indeed took a giant Julia Childs in his shorts. If they are going to scare people that badly with such poor attempt, they should at least provide a change of clothes. Maybe I had higher expectations than I should have. First off, hardly any actors walking around to scare you while waiting in the long lines and the ones walking around did just that, walked around and only that. Also, huge lack of actors and scare in the houses which only took a minute to get thru. Confusing to navigate through the houses because everywhere you turn seemed like an exit. So you get redirected by someone in there...lame. In the corn maze the chainsaw guy was the only actor and he was taking a break while a lot of people walked thru so there was no scare or he focused purely on one group and ignored others walking thru. The best part for me was walking through the giant airbags when you enter and exit the Festival of Freaks...it went on forever and it was awesome, but than a huge let down when you walk out of it because there were no actors to scare you just turns upon turns trying to make your way out. Overall it was a good laugh, not a good scare. It had the potential to be awesome and was a let down. But I had a good time with good friends, just wish it lived up to its hype. read more
