We really enjoyed FearPDX! We took our 12 year old son for his first experience & we had the best time. The actors lurking around are great & add a lot of fun to the wait in line (which is very manageable since they cleverly space out tickets into 30 min time slots). The actual haunted houses are spectacular..stories are well thought out & the props & structures are really well done. Everyone we interacted with was super friendly & the vibe of the entire place was fantastic. My only critique is I'd love to see them put out better merchandise. We wanted to buy a souvenir but nothing was notable to take home. ps The food & drink prices are very reasonable which is a nice plus.

The Clowns were my favorite part, there were some really good actors this year. Definitely one of the best haunts in Portland every Halloween.

My three cousins on the left, me on the right, while we waited in line.

My cousins and I came to Fear PDX last night (Sat 09/26/20 @ 8:00-8:30pm) while I'm visiting from California. I didn't get the name of character that was dressed up as a drag queen/long blonde haired woman but she was AMAZING entertainment the entire time we waited in line! She had us laughing and made the wait seem so much shorter than it was. Please pass our kudos onto them and let them know they made our night during the wait!! The entire house was great, I do this kind of stuff every year back in CA and this is definitely in my top 3 experiences. The Nightmares black out maze was a hysterical hot mess and was so much fun. I forgot to get our picture at the end so I'm super bummed about that but otherwise, everything was great. My cousins don't usually do this stuff and they had an absolute blast so that's saying something, too! Edit: I like these better during the pandemic. We had no one ahead of or behind us so we got the full effects of getting the shit scared of us without expecting it. Fantastic.

The vampire lady in the bed said " ahhh my new snacks have arrived" and the way she said snacks had me stimming the rest of the night. Snaaaackkkks. Totally worth it. Not super scary, but lots of fun.

This is a great Halloween event. I would highly recommend this for families (might be too scary for…read moresuper littles), a spooky date or friend's night out. They don't open until 7, and I mean 7, so if you think you're going to go early and skip a line or do other things at the park, think again. There is NO line to get in also, which was funny, it's free to enter and you just walk in, the "tickets" are for the three houses themselves, so if you're first time--I wish I'd have known that. The VIP tickets are worth it, as you just head to the right of the lines to enter the houses and walk right in. Nice. They have a few vendors of super cool, handmade things and one food cart with fresh, artisan dogs and other sides. Wish there was more food and adult drinks are great (no hard booze that I saw), but reasonably priced wine, beer, cider. 3 drinks for 30$ with a nice tipper, I'd say a deal at an event. The houses are really well-done, and I like that they don't touch you, haha. As I'm a little bit of an anxious person, but I got along fine. Hardcore folks might be disappointed, but I'm here to have fun, not a heart attack. And the people in costume walking the grounds are really cool, the "deer" lady is crazy good and I have no idea how they keep up that scream and voice all night, wow! We will be going again next week, that's how much we enjoyed our time, so I'd recommend you check it out, and again, this doesn't break the bank.

There is a lively causeway with selfie stations, various games and attractions, as well as costumed characters wandering through the park. They've done a great job with makeup and special effects, and stay in character as they engage with attendees. The main attraction is the three haunted houses. This year, in 2024, they have a castle with twisting and winding halls, a scary church full of ghosts and ghouls, and a haunted cinema. They've curated some really nice scenes, and sourced enthusiastic performers, which makes up for any bare hallways or lengthy delays between scares. The hardcore haunted house aficionados may judge this attraction too harshly, but for an anxiety-ridden middle aged man like me... it does just fine! Any event taking place at Oaks Park has the benefit of great accommodations like ample, affordable parking, easy to find restrooms, food and other amenities. If you can afford the hefty admission, chances are you'll have a great time at this event.

Spider webs, strobe lights, smoke, loud noises, mostly startle scare effects and lots of scary props and fake bloody gore. The kids thought all of this was awesome. They had a great time and were definitely scared and startled often, and we adults haven't laughed so hard in forever. The kids reactions were hilarious. A few times even us adults were scared sh**less. Keep in mind that this haunt is put together by a local community member and has no sponsers. All the costs of this haunt are paid out of pocket by the event owner, which includes props, makeup, electricity etc.. ect. All personel are volunteers. Having this knowledge made us aware of the dedication this owner has to provide you with the best experience possible. We rate it #1 and give it 2 thumbs up. Was Pricing high? $15 each ( we paid $10 each for group of over 5) all the expensive props and effects, advertising costs plus time and effort needed to produce this event, weighing in all that, the fee is very understandable. Was it the best and scariest haunted house out there?? Depends on your definition of that. I don't get scared; never really have in haunted houses. But I know it's fiction and what to expect for the most part and together with that and seeing, firsthand the dedication this owner has, made it the VERY BEST haunted house we've been to. The haunt ended with a bonfire, smores and all the participants interacting with the ticket holders, that part alone was worth the costs of the tickets. The kids loved it and felt special interacting with the actors and the adults enjoyed it as well, so... It was a fun night out for all and that's almost impossible to do, please teenagers and adults in the same venue? It was AWESOME. Thank you very much to the dedicated people that produced this absolutely perfect HAUNTED HOUSE!!
