I'm just getting re-started on my fitness journey after 5 years of osteoarthritis in my hip, and…read morefinally a hip replacement. After being sedentary for so long, I'm really starting at the beginning, and the staff is SO supportive. I want to give a particular shout-out to Alec, a personal trainer there. Although I haven't yet worked with him directly, his positive attitude, and support just have me so motivated. Because I'm just starting out again, I've mainly been swimming laps in the pool, because it works everything but is also gentle on the muscles. Alec was excited to let me know that is exactly where he would start me on my fitness journey, and even recommended other exercises I can move on to, once I'm feeling more comfortable in my recovery. This is the best I have felt in 5 years. I am so excited, and so thankful to be back on the road to healthy body, and Alec, and the staff at LA Fitness have really made that possible for me.

Good gym but non welcoming employees…read more It's a decent gym, the hours kind of suck but I don't think that's something that can be changed. The gym is clean, offers a ton of classes, has every type of equipment you'd need but the equipment is super outdated, would be amazing to get an upgrade! Really good suana! The best of any gym in the area. Powerhouse San Jacinto is better in all aspects, the equipment was recently upgraded to top of the line machines, always clean, 24 hours, awesome employees, and amazing atmosphere that creates attachment. Personally I'm a busy person and LA fitness is close, convenient, and has everything I need out of a gym but has zero atmosphere. My one gripe about this gym is most of the staff doesn't greet, at all, blank stares. I know I like most people hate to feel dumb when you're just being polite. Especially the younger employees. I've walked in countless times while staff wasn't on the phone or occupied at all and said good morning just to be ignored. It's not a personal thing, I've seen this happen to almost everyone that walks in and greets. I personally just stopped greeting but I mean cmon it's a gym there's no reason the front desk workers should be acting like stuck up middle school kids lol. Common sense tells you It should be common practice to greet gym goers, yet it's not here? From the perspective of an employee I get it, there's rude customers but as an employee you keep it pushing and provide good customer cares. This really negatively affects the experience for gym goer. you don't build any attachment to the gym like you would at almost any other gym. Just something I wanted to share for others to know if they're looking to join a gym. Powerhouse (my previous gym) is a much more welcoming environment, the employees are personable and make the gym feel like a club your apart of. Even if you had a gym that was closer with better equipment and amenities, you'd have a personal connection to the gym because of the atmosphere they created. I didn't really appreciate that at the time but it's something that makes a gym outstanding. Now to be fair, I'm pretty young myself but I've noticed the generation of current young adults (18-22) lack basic people skills hard, so I can't fully just blame the gym, this seems to be very common amongst the generation. Still it's an easy thing to improve that cost nothing and has a great return. Greeting / being polite to gym goers would significantly improve the experience of LA fitness Hemet. It can absolutely be done too, the dudes that work at the protein shake bar are super cool people, always a good interaction! I wrote this because it's something I wish I knew beforehand, but primarily as constructive criticism for management and staff. My intent isn't to bash the gym entirely or any individual. The gym overall is good and has everything you'd need out of gym but it's soulless and doesn't have a good atmosphere to it.

It's awesome to see a planet fitness with free weights! As someone who's still intermediate level…read moregym goer it provides the freedom to explore the free weights while remaining in the comfort of equipment I'm familiar with. Also they have an assault bike which is super great! When leaving the gym they have vending machines with energy drinks, protein drinks and protein snacks. In the black card spa they have another vending machine with lotions, tanning sprays and sunscreens. Altogether such a well thought out PF

If you want a bare bones fitness experience- this place is enough…read more If you're serious about fitness, go somewhere else. That should be a given, it's a planet fitness, I know. But I was hopeful given the new barbell equipment I saw at this location compared to others that it would be more powerlifter/bodybuilder-friendly. Before I start my formal complaint- I want to recognize that I respected the no bag rule, and did not mind complying when I was confronted. What I'm angry about is the hypocrisy, tone, and lack of consistency. I see men at this gym every day with backpacks on the floor. So I figured it was fine as long as it's not on a walkway. Somehow I'm the only one who ever gets told anything while I'm there. So I get told. Fine. I was taking a second to put my AirPod back in so I could grab my bag, this woman waves her hand at me to tell me AGAIN. Not even .2 seconds later. It was so rude and off putting I just went home and have gone to another gym since. I've accepted I've outgrown this place and this is not a place for true growth. It's unrealistic to expect someone who lifts heavy weights to not have equipment. Also expecting them to go back and forth to a locker to carry things like straps and belts in their hands is moronic. I understand that's corporate. But oh wait- you only care when certain people do it. The way this location goes about it is inconsistent, so it then becomes targeting behavior. Most staff have been nothing but nice and understanding, then there's one in particular that seems to pick on me. TLDR- Inconsistent policy enforcement, just go to powerhouse instead lol
