He got all the finance documents ready and got the specific color just as I requested and let me know in advance about any delays that might be involved in getting it. I must say, the entire process of buying the bike from requesting a particular model, arranging finance and collecting the bike, was so smooth, that all I had to do was provide the details necessary for the finance application Ian kept me informed throughout the process. With these things in mind you can imagine how happy I was to find that World's End Motorcycles was as close at hand as it is. I found out about them when one of their guys came to buy an old Honda off me after I had run its little engine into the ground. I popped down to the warehouse in Portslade a week or two later after a part for my new bike. When I asked after my old Honda I was told that they had set it up with a new engine and that it was now once more on the road. That's just what these guys are about. They have one of the largest selections of motorcycle parts under one roof I've ever seen and you get the very real impression that they actually care. There's not a great deal in the way of accessories or clothing so you lose a little of the excitement of a real trip to the bike shop but in terms of the nuts and bolts of things (excluding Brit bikes) they excel. So for those of you with something like a 1990 GS1000, next time a piece of aging fairing gives way or you need a new chain on the cheap then give these guys a shout or just head down.

They allowed me to browse the bikes even thought it was past closing time - they seemed more interested in helping another customer than getting away themselves. They also recommended some consumables to me which were cheaper than the ones I might have used. So, two good signs of customer service.

To be honest though, this shop isn't about looks, it's quite simply a good, hard working, honest shop which deals in Bikes and getting those babies on the road. KTM and Yamaha road and Moto X bikes are displayed outside, and the Yamaha Virago especially took my fancy, looking a little bit like a chopper, I suddenly had the urge to throw off the constraints of society and go easy riding. But I didn't, as sleeping under the Californian stars in mid summer cannot be matched by the lovely, but actually quite cold, Sussex Downs in mid winter.

I suppose "Haslemere Motorcycles" is their brand. I recently ate in a tapas bar called Cafe Kansas in Valencia. Did they used to do tapas in Kansas? If they HAD renamed themselves to Cafe Valencia, how would they distinguish themselves from the million other tapas bars in Valencia? Perhaps it is questions such as these that preserved the Haslemere moniker...but I digress. I used them once for my MOT, and once for a fairly routine repair of a fuel line leak on my Triumph Sprint ST. Alas, they have had to drop the Triumph cert they carried, so it will be more difficult to justify taking my bike to them for parts and service, but I still may use them for MOT. The owner is friendly, and a fellow Californian. The service and parts guys have been helpful and their location very accessible. They'll even arrange for a pickup (for a price) if your bike is too far gone to move. It's hard to be clever about motorcycle service. In my experience, the place either sucks, or it doesn't. They're there to do a job, do it right the first time, and get on with it. In my book, they did that, so I would recommend them, and might go looking there when I buy my next ride.

I had decided to get back into motorbikes after a period of at least thirty years and was a little apprehensive as you would expect I was greeted by the Sales Manager Mark Lucock, who spent sometime discussing my thoughts and expectations. With little fuss two bikes were made available for me to test over a varied route of country roads and duel carriage ways. I was given plenty of time to consider the options and never felt under pressure. The purchasing process was explained in a clear and concise fashion and I was kept informed in a timely and professional basis. I also needed guidance with protective gear and more than enough time was give to me to check through the extensive range in stock. I was very happy to purchase my helmet, jacket safety trousers and boots from their parts department. The hand over was efficient and everything explained to me before I road away on my new machine. Time was even given to take a photograph of me with my new pride and joy! (it is the little things that make a difference). The service and parts department staff are all very helpful and friendly and nothing ever seems to much trouble. I can honestly say that my bike felt different after service which gives you confidence a good job has been done. I decided to sell this month (October 2015) and contacted Mark to discuss how this could be achieved. We agreed an SOR price and within a few weeks the bike had been sold. The whole team at Haslemere Motorcycles deserve a pat on the back. I am a fussy bugger and in truth my experience over the last two years has been first rate. So, credit where credit is due and if you are looking for a bike - look no further.

Dont fall for Shab's nice guy act Edit: I raised a dispute with my credit company and raised this with citizens advice and they returned my money as per their section 73 of credit agreement and in line with consumer rights act of 2015. If i had the time, money and energy I would take you to court which is why I waited until now before going public with this. You are a criminal and a liar and should be reprimanded. I will not let you get away with this. The story: This was the third time i rented a bike from them. In the past the gears got stuck and left me stranded for an hour but i thought maybe its because im learning. This time, i picked the bike at Monday 4:30 with half a tank, rode all the way to camden, turned the bike off to go into tesco, when i came back the bike wouldnt turn on. This was around 5:45. Not sure how you have a mechanic shop and claim that i killed the battery while i was riding it. So i called them that night but no answer because the shop was closed (fai enough). I managed to park the bike at one of my friends' over night so it doesnt get stolen. Next day i called them trying to resolve this and they told me to call RAC and that of course if anything is wrong with the bike theyll refund me. I asked them to email me this, they ignored my emails. RAC scheduled for Wednesday 10AM and they jump started the bike. I called and told them that Id like to bring the bike back after work and they said no problem but we will close the shop so you're gonna have to leave it outside and hand the rented helmet to the shop next door. I asked if they could email me that just so we can have this agreed. They ignored my calls and emails all day. At 4pm Shab answered and says no we won't email you and everything is at your own risk not sure what you want from us. When they saw that Im asking for documents and Im trying to do this the right way their nice guy act dropped. So instead, i rode the bike back to my place to park it safely and refueled the tank. On thursday (day when my rental was due to end) i took a half day off to ride it back and rid myself of this hassle but the bike wouldnt turn on. I called them and i called RAC. They told me that they wont tow the bike unless it cannot be fixed on the spot. They came, examined and towed the bike back. After a week of radio silence i ask for a refund and they say that the bike is working perfectly and that i had flattened the battery. I rented a bike with the expectation that its road worthy and that I dont have to spend a week trying to turn it on and return it to you. You wasted an entire week and youre just a bad person with the way you treated me and i genuinely wish that you get what you deserve.

As a complete novice to the world of Hells Angels, I was completely ignorant to what it is all about but I have to say, the staff were great at helping me out and apparently the shop sells the latest bike models including Honda, Suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki and also Peugeot. I was looking into quotes a bike on behalf of a friend and found it very useful that the shop has a service called "rent try buy scheme" whereby you can hire a bike for the weekend, and then if decide you want to keep it - they will deduct the hire cost and sell it to you. The wonders of the credit crunch I suppose. As I mentioned, I'm no expert but as someone stepping into the shop without an inkling of even how to sit on a motorbike properly, the staff were very friendly and refrained from taking advantage of my lack of knowledge.
