When I pull up, I get out and get the big brush on a stick and scrub my grille and other parts of the car that may have excessive dirt. Then I head for the wash. There is always a helpful employee near the machine where you pay. Last time the machine wouldn't take my dollar so the nice lady used a card to get me through. Just before being directed into the wash, there is someone to scrub the rear of your vehicle to make sure it gets extra clean. Once inside the wash, there are suds galore!! I've been so some of these gas station car washes and I was lucky if I got any soap at all. Here at Pelican Pointe the suds are everywhere. They are pink, yellow, blue. I'm not sure if the suds are colored or if it's just the lights but either way it's like a foam party. My kids love it. There are signs in the wash to let you know exactly what is happening such as Tire Shine and things like that. At the end the blower dries your car and you roll out and around to the vacuums. I always bring my kids to assist with the vacuuming while I sit there and give orders. For $1.00 you can get your mats cleaned. It's probably more like $2 because if you have 4 mats you need two cycles. But they certainly do get clean. Once, I spilled syrup on the mat and it took a couple of days before I could get to Pelican Pointe. By the time I got there, the syrup had dried on the carpeted floor mat. No worries, the mat cleaner took it right off. Impressive, right?! There are also other things for sale such as air fresheners, towels, dashboard and window cleaners, etc. In all, the process takes me less than 20 minutes. As long as Pelican Pointe Car Wash is around, I'll take my car there.

I'm a little too busy and lazy to wash my own car (plus I have no hose connection on my house. Weird, huh?), so I searched for a manual or touchless carwash. I found On The Spot through a Google search, and decided to give it a try because it's close to my work. I called and spoke to Tyrone. I think he's the owner, and he was very accommodating about getting my car scheduled quickly for a simple exterior wash. That particular service isn't listed on their standard menu, but Tyrone quoted me a reasonable $50 to hand wash and vacuum. When I arrived at my appointment time, I was promptly greeted and invited to wait inside in the AC (thank God) while my car was washed. I left my car where it was and went in. The waiting area is simple but comfortable with a TV playing some recent NBA game. It wasn't long before I was being called back out because my car was done! It was surprisingly fast, and my car looked great! I had even asked if they would apply a tire dressing I had brought myself, and they did it with no problem and no extra charge. Overall, I'm very happy with the service and value of On The Spot, and I'll be using them for my regular car washes. I think I'll explore the detailing at some point too. The location is a little buried in the Clearview/Veterans area behind the freeway entrances, but it's worth the hunt. Thanks Tyrone!

For some people, this wouldn't be too bad, but considering I travel up and down the US at least twice a year and have two dogs who love to shed, it was a pretty big ask for anyone to tackle that interior. Was it more than I wanted to pay? Yes. Did it need it, and so I agreed to it? Also yes. I called and was able to get in the same day that I wanted to sell the car. It took almost an hour and a half to really get in there and get it all cleaned out. However, everything looked so beautiful when it was completed. I brought a book with me to wait in their nice, air-conditioned waiting room. I'm not going to say that the car looked as good as new, but after 11 years with two crazy dogs and 154K miles? It was pretty damn impressive. The guys there were great, and the service was well worth it. I even got top dollars for my very old car. Thanks, y'all!

When I scanned the coupon, it only showed a $3 discount but the attendant was quick to resolve the issue. Even though the $13 wash does fine, I could tell the difference with the $16 wash. My car/tires/rims were noticeably shiny afterwards. One of their selling points is free use of the car vacuums. The vacuums don't have a lot of suction and it took me forever to vacuum my entire car. I think I'll skip that part moving forward.

Long enough to remember when it was 5.00 for a basic wash. Now it's 12.00. I feel like it was only like 10 years ago when it was 5.00 so that is 240 percent increase in 10 years! Insane. Yeah yeah yeah, I know I sound like an old man yelling at clouds with my "back in my day" review. However, I also feel like they sped the wash up and it's not really getting the car all the way clean. When I pulled out of the wash, I noticed soap all over my side mirror. See picture. I believe that's because the wash is moving faster and not letting the car rinse off. Would you get out of a shower before you got all of the soap out of your hair? No, you stay in until it was washed off. Anyway, I will probably still come in for my bimonthly car wash, but I will keep skipping the "free vacuums" since they are worthless. The workers are friendly and the place is convenient for me.

I had no intent of washing my own car or wait in the heat for a hand wash by someone else. So I opted to try something new. This was my first time going through a drive thru car wash and I was pretty satisfied by the outcome. I got the express wash for $8 and there was an attendant at the machine to take my payment. The drive through for the express option took around 5 minutes and I was out of there. By the time I got home, I realized the roof of my car had some type of film still on it, but for the most part my car was clean. Overall, for the price, it was more than half the cost of paying someone to hand wash my car, and my car was pretty clean. If I need another car wash in a hurry, this will be my go to. Location is pretty convenient on Veterans and besides drive through, you can also wash and vacuum your own car. There are other packages/upgrades you can purchase. I think the most expensive car wash was $16 and vacuuming is free with washes.
