What an experience! A hidden gem in the Valle that is worth planning to visit. Our server, Poncho, was attentive and knowledgeable. Food was out out of this world and the ambiance is second to none. This is a must stop for dinner! read more

Thank you fauna for a great dining experience in the valley... I tried their 7 course meal!!! It was unbelievable the flavors and the mix of ingredients are unexplainable. Easily the best restaurant in the Valle, and it's hard to say that since I absolutely love Deckman's, Finca Altozano and Corazon de Tierra (and Ochento's Pizza). After an amazing meal, the server moved us outside so we could enjoy the dessert course with cigars we brought with us. The portions are tasting menu-sized, so I'll give you all the same advice given to us by a guy that owns one of the vineyards in the Valle--order the tasting menu, but also order the tomahawk a la carte for your group--1) because it's crazy good; and 2) you'll want more amazing food. Lastly, the prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food, the wonderful 3.5 hour experience and the exquisite surroundings--about $333 per couple which included a 20% tip (six tasting menus with pairings, an a la carte tomahawk, a couple extra drinks, and four shots of mezcal). I will go back again and again. read more

This is a foodie's delight. The scallops with an eggplant deduction were amazing. The trout was delicious. The duck was beautifully plated but slightly undercooked. The wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. We were not disappointed. Decor is creative. This is an experience. A do not miss. read more

I found this restaurant on a blog on Facebook of places you must visit in Valle de Guadalupe. I also came across their Instagram. I made a reservation through Opentable for group of 19 people. We arrived early and were attended right away. This is definitely an upscale restaurant/bar/winery. We did the 4 course meal. We did not know what was on the menu (all a surprise as their menu changes) and i am soooo glad i took the chance. Every single item was incredibly delicious. I was so impressed by the taste and detail of every course. The chef came out to meet us and he was so kind. I loved everything about our dining experience here and will be back soon. I have been telling all my friends and family about Fauna and Bruma. My only concern was that we were not made aware that we were going to be charged for the water being served. We were surprised with a $68 US dollar charge for water for our party. I wasn't upset because i loved the service and food but was just caught by surprise. read more

This is certainly a must stop when visiting the valley. The grounds and decor are beautiful. The food was delicious and creatively presented. Can't wait to go back. read more

This place! Oh, I love this place!! My bachelorette party was a weekend in Valle, and we picked Fauna as our "nice dinner" on the recommendation of some of my foodie friends. Oh, I'm so glad we did! We did the experimental menu and got twelve (!!!) courses with wine pairings. The entire group agreed that it was one of the best, if not the best, meals of our life. But the thing I appreciated most is how willing they are to accommodate food allergies, even with a multi-course meal. I can't eat gluten, one girl in our party can't eat pork, and another can't eat scallops. They were able to substitute any of those courses with some fantastic allergy friendly alternatives. My food was so good, I never felt like I was missing out on what everyone else was enjoying with my gluten free course. Thank you, Fauna, for the amazing meal and service! We will be back! read more

Food is delicious and the customer service is amazing! Andres, our waiter, patiently supported us with our food selections! Must visit Fauna when in Baja California! read more

The experience and the setting of this restaurant was great. The food was very taste. In the beginning we thought the menu was a little complicated the waiter explained it made easier to understand. read more

Honestly, the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant in Valle de Guadalupe. I went with my family to grab a few drinks and appetizers. The waiters were rude because we did not have a full meal. They spilled water all over my phone and did not apologize once. When they cleaned our tables, they did not ask for our permission to move our things and were none stop hovering over us the whole time. We did not get a moment to enjoy ourselves in peace. Really felt discriminated against. An experience that was meant to be fun, turned super awkward and uncomfortable. read more

We ventured on the 6 course meal plus cerveza/vino pairing. It was truly the most amazing food you will ever have in your life. Increíble, delicioso, lo mejor We will be coming back with others. Let me start off by saying if you haven't been to the Guadeloupe Valley, and you're into food and wine, you're missing out. I visited Fauna with my wife and close friends of ours and another couple whom we had just met. The place was unbelievable. The restaurant is in the Bruma winery and is very well decorated. Not over the top fancy, but super cool and stylish. I would go back just to hang out for the cool vibe! We went there for lunch, and it was quite busy. The tables are set up in a community style - long tables with different groups sitting side by side. It was fun being there, because it felt like everyone was happy. We were happy, other guests were happy, the wait staff was happy - that was just the vibe. I'm not going into the individual dishes we had because it was all excellent. We had the multi course lunch with the wine pairing and it was my favorite meal of the year. The execution of the dishes and the wine pairings were on point. I can't wait to go back! read more

Excellent place....I've been coming to Valle De Guadalupe for years...the quality of wine tasting spots and restaurants keeps getting better year after year. At fauna we had the mutli course meal sampling..highly recommend as you get to have taste of several of their dishes....it's like have a 10 course meal....great selections, great food and great service....we had multiple servers catering to our table...only issue may be the bill when we see but nevertheless, everything was excellent. read more

Three things to know about dining at Fauna @FaunaRestaurante 1. Communal tables: your experience will be impacted on your neighbors. We had both good and bad (interesting couple who shared food and large loud group that squeezed us out) so be mindful when taking a seat! 2. Food size: some dishes were large enough for a party of 6 (pulpo, lamb) and others were tiny (a single parsnip !) so ask before ordering! 3. It's a long and winding road: a bit of a challenge to find, especially in the dark, so be prepared! Rest of visit was 'Tale of Two Cities' ... staff not educated on wine but hostess moved us when the large group invaded our space. One item took over 45 mins even though others around us were served same item, but was comped when we called it to the managers attention. Food was interesting but at a higher price point than other top restaurants in Valle. If you're game to try I recommend sitting at the end of a table, going with a group of four (to share the food) and start in daylight with a visit to the Bruma Winery for a tasting before dinner. read more

This is truly an epicurean delight. If you have the time and a few extra shekels (oops sorry pesos) The Fixed Menu Chefs Choice is a grand meal. Well worth both your time and investment. With the appropriate offerings of the house flight of wines, you can't do any better. The ambiance family style seating just adds to the charm and wonderful experience. The tour of the facility is a must. And it goes without saying all of this comes with the caveat Reservations are Mandatory. read more

Let's start by saying that our server Alejandro was incredible........and he was just training! We sat adjacent to the herb garden which was over flowing with thyme (my favorite), verbena, basil, harvested maize. We had a delightful bottle of the meritage, ojos negros. In house opera singer. The service was great I can not over state that enough. I am so excited to come back, i would recommend making a reservation; due to the fact we went on a Tuesday on off season during lunch we were able to be accommodated, I'm under the impression that is not the norm. Thank you for the wonderful afternoon Alejandro! read more

Food is a 4 or 5. Nice to see such high end cuisine in Mexico. They really make good use of the fresh local seafood. However the service is sloooooooooow. I've heard of the idle rich but who has 3 hours to get through a meal? Took 30 minutes just to get the check. Normally it wouldn't be as annoying but I'd rather not be in an enclosed area with 70 other diners during Covid for such an unnecessarily long time - not to mention having to drive home so late over bad roads. Please hire a few more servers. read more

Worst service in valle de guadalupe. Great food. Very rude receptionist. Made a reservation one month in advance for 12 people, I specifically said we wanted a table outside when we got there the patio was packed didnt save the table we had in our reservation. Even inside they were having trouble finding a table, they were acting like it was pur fault but we got there 30 minutes before the time of our reservation. The receptionist was saying we booked our table that day when it was a month since we made the reservation. I had to show her the confirmation email. 2 stars because of the receptionist and the manager never showed up. read more

This place used to be our favorite in the Valle. We've eaten there 6+ times and brought 20-30 people there. The last visit on a Saturday on July 27th took nearly 4 hours to get through the tasting menu. The service was slow and our waiter would regularly disappear leaving us with empty drinks and empty water. It was 30+ minutes per course. We would order a drink and the wait would be 20-30 minutes. Ultimately they shorted us 2 courses and 3 drinks. So sad to see what was once a gem lose the charm and what made it great. We will not be back. read more

10/2021 Great location and service, but most importantly the food is phenomenal. We were struggling to settle on what to order and our server kindly suggested to get a sampler course. After checking in on our preferences and any allergies the parade of plates commenced. Most plates were nicely presented and the flavors were on par with the looks. But the real delicious surprises were hidden in the very unassuming servings. Charred lettuce tacos looked like something a child through on a park bbq grill, but on that first bite you realize that these charred leaves are doused in a citrusy lime cream and you greedily eat up every piece even the bitter thick stems. Next. Little bowls of halved cherry tomatoes floating in some boring clear liquid, once again my eyes were totally wrong. The dynamic of tomatoes, mesquite olive oil, onion flowers, sea salt, and clarified tomato juice ( not boring liquid) combine to make a smoky light but savory treat which paired well with our beef soupes. I'll stop here and avoid any more spoilers. If you're out in Valle de Guadalupe you must go here. Beware reservations are needed, but we got mucky and walked right up on a Thursday afternoon. read more

Words can't describe how amazing our experience was here! My husband and I are big travelers but this hands down is in our top 3 of the best restaurants we've gone to ever!! Having visited 4 times over different visits to the Valle, I can confidently say this place amazes me every time I go! The menu changes frequently and every dish impresses. Had a great meal here this past week. It is really hard to imagine a more amazing locale for starters, and the build-out of the restaurant was top-notch. Service was good, wine selection was excellent (grabbed a couple bottles to go even), and the food was amazing. The duck sopes were a stand-out, and the duck main was also excellent. The salpicon (pork belly salad with homemade tortillas is perhaps the best description) stole the show and one of the best dishes we had on a weekend of fine dining. read more

A group of 9 of us came here from San Diego and had the most delicious lunch. We did the fixed menu with wine pairings and all the food was incredible. My favourite was the lamb - it makes my mouth water just thinking about it! The octopus was also really popular with the group. There wasn't anything we didn't like! The service was fantastic and the view was amazing. Highly recommend!! read more

It's places like Fauna that are making people all over the world stand up and pay attention to the Valle de Guadalupe culinary scene. The experience was totally surreal. I can remember how a lot of meals taste... but there was something about our dinner at Fauna that has me grasping at vapors... so many delicate nuances in both flavor and design that the only real solution to my dilemma is getting back there asap, ordering an aguachile, and doing everything all over again. read more

I believe this place will rise to the top of Valle de Guadalupe's food scene. The space is beautiful. We were greeted by the chef upon arrival and seated at the end of a large communal table. This may be fun in a large group, but felt awkward with just my husband and I sitting across from each other. We debated on whether or not to order from the menu or try the "experimental menu." We opted for the latter so that we could try more dishes. I had an aperol spritz and my husband ordered a mezcal old fashioned. Both were delicious. We enjoyed at least 8 courses. The yellow tail sashimi and abalone tacos with blue corn tortillas were most notable as was the dessert. We also got to try some unique seafood (blood clams and a few I can't remember). Overall, the food was good, but not outstanding and at around $100/person, perhaps not the best value in the valle. I'd like to return in a few months or a year once the Bruma resort is complete and give the menu another try. read more

Incredible! Fantastic! Beautiful! Delicious! We've eaten at great restaurants all over the world and this rates as one of the very best! Do the tasting menu. We were served 17 different dishes (4 were desserts!) and each one was absolutely incredible and totally different. They ask you if you have food sensitivities and/or preferences and then they create a tasting menu for you. Really can't say enough good things. Go, don't miss it. read more

Fauna - a beautiful restaurant with Delicious food. The ambience is friendly and enjoyable. My go to's from the bar are the Aperol spritz as an aperitif & the Carajillo for digestif (best Carajillo in Valle). The food is so great, the duck sopes are a personal favorite. The octopus with chicharron are a must. Love going to Fauna, it is currently my favorite restaurant in Valle de Guadalupe. read more

Fauna is located at Bruma, and is a fairly new establishment with beautiful rustic modern decor. There is a large indoor dining area and also an equally large outdoor space. All of the tables are shared, which complements the family feel of the establishment. The dishes are all HUGE, designed to be served family style, so better to go in a group to get the full experience. We went as only two adults and were stuffed by the time we finished our two appetizers. I'm not giving Fauna five stars because (a) we didn't get to try most of the menu and (b) service was lacking. I literally never received a napkin during my entire time there. No one came out to refill water or ask if we needed additional utensils, etc. I think that these issues will improve with time, and don't hold it against Fauna. The food we tried was delicious, and spicy! That's something I loved, but others might be more careful when ordering. I believe the menu only comes in Spanish though, so some aspects will be lost in translation if you don't speak Spanish (and most of the wait staff also do not speak English). Reservations are also available through OpenTable, which is great if you don't speak Spanish! read more

The setting a location of the restaurant is breathtaking; you are definitely transported to another world! We opted to have the tasting menu plus one of got the alcohol pairing. First off they do not slump on the alcohol, full pours and even refills! There were a total of 8 courses plus one pre-dessert and one dessert. The whole experience was amazing but not perfect. The three of us were there for approximately three hours which after a few hours became a little uncomfortable and we needed to walk and stretch. The other thing was that our particular tasting was very seafood heavy and being that I'm a pescatarian even found quite a few of the dishes to be very briny and fishy. I wish they just would have told us that in the beginning. Overall would I come here again? Absolutely but I wouldnt order the tasting again, because I would like to try the a la carte items which looked amazing. The alcohol pairing was very unique in that they didn't only serve wine; there was a beer and also a strong mezcal which we couldn't even drink bc we couldn't handle it :) the entire experience was top notch our server was great as well as the other staff read more
