We purchased our home in 2015. When we toured the house there were a couple of things that we asked…read moreabout getting taken care of. One was a dent in the refrigerator door. We were assured one was ordered and it would be replaced. Once the home (triple-wide $168,000.00) was set up we had multiple problems, including two leaks on the roof, one of the front bedroom causing water to pour through the wall and in around the window. They were very slow to come out and take care of them. During installation one of the workers dropped a 2x4 through the bathroom ceiling leaving a hole and never said a word, once we found it and inquired, they finally admitted to it. Then another of the service men they sent to look at the airflow to the 3rd section (two bedrooms and a bathroom) literally stepped off a rafter and fell from the attic through the ceiling. Airflow was never fixed! When they came to fix the second huge hole they finally fixed the first one (9 months after it happend) We got tired of contacting them so my husband and I took care of much of it ourselves. My biggest complaint is that our shingled roof was very uneven and leaked. We tried to get our home owners insurance to replace the roof but were told it was not installed correctly. We had it patched at our expense. In May of this year we had to bite the bullet and have the roof completely replaced at our expense. The roofing company advised that not only was the roof not done correctly (shingles were not tacked down, they were laid off kilter, the drip-edge was leftover pieces that we not even put completely together, but three rafters were bowed and that is why we were having the issues we did). This was a 25-year shingle that if it had been laid correctly, we would not have the issues that we have. We paid $15,000.00 out of our pocket to have the roof replaced. Because we were told the home came with a 10-year warranty, I contacted the service manager at Hawks, who was rude and condescending. I was not pleasant back, which I regret, however due to the amount of money we spent on this home and the fact that we were told by not only the insurance adjuster and two different roofers that the issues were due to the roof not being installed correctly and the amount of money we paid out of pocket to replace it. I sent an email with pictures and an apology as well as calling and leaving multiple messages even for the owner. I have yet to hear one thing back from them. The total lack of concern after the sale and the rude attitude is what compelled me to finally leave this review. We did not expect them to fully cover our roof, but to not even care enough to call back or send someone out? Once they have your money, good luck. When I told the service manager that I was going to leave a review he said "oh, you are one of those".

No one likes writing less than stellar reviews about a company that wins so many awards but the…read moreservice I received was not award-winning. I felt it important for future shoppers to see another side. I started my home buying journey with Hawks Homes of Conway in June 2019. I chose to work with a specific salesperson because she had such outstanding online reviews from other customers. She helped me pick out a new Franklin home and we started the paperwork. I had reservations almost immediately after paying my earnest deposit. I asked questions and she gave me answers that would keep me buying from her; things she told me, witnessed by another party in the room, turned out to be false, telling me I must have misunderstood her. It is legal in the state of Arkansas to record a conversation so long as the person recording is part of that conversation - I truly wish I had recorded every interaction. It became difficult to get in touch with her without multiple texts and calls at which point I started hearing how short-handed they were as an excuse. Because my need for a home was so dire, I dealt with the excuses and hoped for the best. I asked repeatedly for someone from Hawks to look at my property to simply give an opinion about the state of the land and what work might need to be done. I was told, sure, someone would come take a look. As the time got closer for the home to be installed, it became clear that no one was coming and that was just another false agreement made to keep me on the hook. The salesperson proceeded to tell me the grade/slope the land needed to be and was condescending from that point forward. Days were wasted because the gentleman pouring concrete needed things done to the land before he could, in good conscience, pour the foundation. Thankfully he went above and beyond, he will be reviewed separately. Once my home was finally installed in September, the salesperson stopped responding to me completely. As any customer would, I had questions after my home was installed. I was assured by the salesperson that specific things would be done at the time the home was installed (shower doors hung, mirrors hung, etc.) and since she was not responding to me, I contacted the first of 2 service coordinators at Hawks. The first, a woman, was quick to tell me that the things I had questions about were the manufacturers responsibility to do and I'd have to wait until my service visit from Franklin, who knew how long that'd be. I would not give up quietly and I was shuffled on to a guy who graciously sent a team from Hawks to help me out the next day. I did not hire my own contractor. But I will if I ever do something like this again and that is the most solid advice I would give anyone asking - hire your own contractors. The Electric and Plumbing contractor sent by Hawks spent 4 out of 5 days for the better part of 3 weeks here trying to fix multiple issues related to plumbing. It is important to note the issue is still unresolved and he will be reviewed separately. I got fed up with his continuous visits with no resolution, every day it was something else he thought was wrong and he would be back the next day. I started to express my frustration to the service coordinator at Hawks. Again, tough to get a call or email back and again, would hear how short-handed they were. The contractor and the coordinator at Hawks were so misaligned - Hawks called me to find out what the contractor was doing, why he was spending so much time there. I finally had to reach out to the owner at the Conway location to get his eyes on the issue - six months later, the plumbing issue still persists and I push for resolution. Most of my future interactions will be with the manufacturer and I am still figuring out how that will go. I cannot suggest enough that you consider all other options before buying from Hawks Homes of Conway - the professionalism by this team needs to be analyzed from a higher level.
