One day before our viewing i noticed it was no longer on their site. I called to confirm it's availability only to be told, (oh we forgot to call you, it's not available). About a week later we found another house we liked. It had only been on their site for 2 hours. We made an appointment to view it. After seeing it, we asked what do we need do to proceed. We were given the site to apply and we did it within an hour. The following day we received a call letting us know what else we needed to submit to secure it. We drove straight to thier office and spoke to the girl handling that property. She told us what she needed and gave us her email address to send everything to. (That was on a Friday late afternoon). The following Monday we made 5 calls to the office asking what else we needed and if they received everything we had send. We didn't get a call back until Tuesday, and we were given more things they needed. We asked to give us a full list so we could secure the house. Tuesday afternoon we were given even more items to be sent in. Everything was sent within the hour. Wednesday morning we called to see if they had received everything yet to given one more item. We were told by the girl handing our account that she would be out of the office the rest of the day and would get a call Thursday morning. We got a call back k 20 minutes later stating they had just least it. So to put it bluntly, they don't return calls promptly, they drag their feet on letting you know what is needed and they don't let you know up front what is needed. We wasted a lot of time for nothing.

The apartment itself was in really good condition and very nice, and in a great neighborhood (wish i still lived in the neighborhood). Something rare that they had was someone in charge at their office that could actually make decisions, alter contracts and generally get things done. I'm appreciative that they had this at their office. Normally, there are only hired office people around that can't make any decision or get anything done. With Rush-Hal actually having one of the owners working at the office, it was possible to actually get decisions from a person and not just have blanket rules that the office people have to follow. My experience with Rush-Hal was good, that's about all that I can say.

I reached out about a property that was listed for rent and was asked to send over my ID. Given how fast the response came after seeing my ID, it was hard not to feel that the decision was based on my race. This experience was upsetting and felt discriminatory. Everyone deserves to be treated fairly and given equal access to housing opportunities. I'm sharing this so others are aware and so that the practice of judging potential tenants by appearance or background can be called out. I do not have a criminal past.
