Orders were on point, communication was solid, and he actually paid attention--something clearly unheard of down the street. On top of that, he hooked it up with a michelada with the works that was straight up next level. Crazy how one place can completely ruin your night, and another can come through and save it like nothing happened. If you're debating between the two... don't. This is the spot. 10/10 all day.

I ordered the spicy chicken pasta, and it honestly tasted like chili with clumps of cheese. Someone else in my party ordered the shrimp and crab pasta, and when it came out, it looked more like soup. It tasted strongly of burnt oil, and the shrimp and crab had a very strange taste as well. Neither of us could finish our meals. I even took mine home because I thought maybe I was being too judgmental, but after reheating it, it somehow tasted even worse than it did at the restaurant. The people in our party who ordered the steak seemed to be the happiest with their meals, but even then, paying that much money for such a small piece of steak just didn't feel worth it. The restaurant itself looks fancy, and the prices definitely match the fancy atmosphere, but unfortunately, the food was nowhere near worth the money, which was very disappointing. Just a heads-up if you decide to go: I would definitely avoid the pasta dishes.

The burnt was actually better than I've ever had over the years. Everything was prepared properly and had great flavor. And I loved the cranberry pecan salad we had as a starter, which made me really hopeful for the meal itself. But beyond that our experience was so disappointing. We got the lobster ravioli and the zesty pasta. I appreciated the ample veggies included with my meal, but the food was overall so bland I could have made it better at home, and that is saying something. The ambiance wasn't great, and I was overheated the entire time, to the point I was eager to leave just because it was so hot. I like to take my time with a meal, and it's a bad sign if I want to rush out of there. We probably would have stayed for more drinks but like I say, we were simply eager to leave.
