I was on my way back from the airport and craving some Middle Eastern food. Fattoush had a super convenient and easy to use online ordering system which allowed me to pick what I wanted, pay for it, and just pick it up on the way home. The site has a couple flaws though, it did not give me an option to pick soup or salad with my lunch special. I was open to either one so I guess it didn't matter to me as much, but for others it could be a problem. I had the mixed shwarma lunch special which was $8.99. I got mixed, which was chicken and beef (maybe kufta?) shwarma, two varieties of rice (a red-ish one and a brown-yellow one), 3 falafels (even though the menu stated 2), and by default a "salad" instead of soup. The "salad" was nothing more than a charred half tomato. It was tasty, but definitely not a salad. This was a very minor issue, all the food I had was fantastic. Both of the rices were rich and flavorful in their own way, but I thought the red was better. The meats were thinly sliced chunks that were tender and bursting with flavor. Lots of delicious Middle Eastern spices and onions that make me crave any kind of shwarma more and more these days; the cuisine is truly unique. The falafel was excellent as well, crispy (but not overbreaded) on the outside, yet moist and herb-y on the inside. Overall the food was fantastic, and for just over $9, the quantity and quality was a great value. I can't vouch for the service since I ordered online and just picked it up, but the guy working the front seemed nice. I definitely need to eat in the restaurant sometime. Other than the online ordering soup/salad/charred tomato issue, my experience at Fattoush was very good, I will certainly come back. read more

The hookah side has a nice ambiance. Very chill environment. My only complaint is that some staff members were not wearing mask. It makes me question their precautions regarding COVID-19. While half of the staff had mask on and the tables were being thoroughly disinfected after each guest left. Several staff members serviced clients with no mask which then made me question their hand washing requirements of staff members. It's unfortunate to see the haphazard attempt. read more

Came to Chicago for a convention a friend of mine told me about this Restaurant. It was a 40 min drive from downtown where I was staying. But it was well worth the drive that I came back again the next day. Food is Great and fresh. Service is awesome from when you enter until you leave. Great Job too all of you. Checked out Fattoush for breakfast on a Sunday morning. It was a little after they opened, and the bustle had yet to kick in. The host/server, Abu, could not have been more helpful or friendly. I ultimately decided on the Fettet Hummus with Meat (beef, as it turns out) with Turkish Coffee. Essentially, the idea behind this is a little like middle eastern chilaquiles, with little pieces of pita having been submerged in hummus. In this case, they were topped with little bits of savory beef. It was absolutely delicious -- truly one of the better breakfasts I've had in awhile. The Turkish coffee had a nice kick to it, and was as flavorful and strong as you would expect. I say check it out if you are looking for something different for breakfast. I have been here quiet a few times and I just realized I never reviewed it! If you want to eat a really good chicken shawarma...come here and try the other food options while you're at it. I love their Veggie platter(i order that when I just want to smoke and eat something small). The place itself is big, inside is where people sit and eat and stay warm, the outside patio is for the smokers and loud crowd. It gets packed outside during summer(i would avoid going there on a Friday/Sat night if you want to get seated quickly) now that they have outside heaters, it's becoming more crowded in the winter. The staff is amazing!!! I have never had an issue with any of the servers here, they are sweet and socially skilled, unlike some waitresses who take your order and leave. I get there after 25 minutes and once I walk in to a dingy place with so much going on and people running around, I walk up to the person who is supposed to greet me. Not much of a greeting, just an arrogant who had her head so far, you know the rest. Point blank the food after the wait was terrible. The service was obnoxious! No greeting, no hello no anything. Just a bunch of the waiters and what seemed to be regulars hanging out in what looked like a scene from grease, only problem was these men were not as cool. S Once my food was ready and sitting on the counter. The waiters and old men too busy flirting with their coworker/sever just continued. Not for a split second did anyone notify my food was ready. After watching them for ten minutes I went to the counter and asked was this my food that I already paid for, and she said oh yeh, HERE! To add to this terrible place, there are kids running around the restaurant throwing things, and people yelling and screaming. At least I wished the food would've been halfway decent, but as expected because of my introduction it wasn't. It suited this place though. Terrible employees corresponded to terrible food. If you're looking for a place with good middle eastern food, all you have to do is drive down to 87th and Harlem, but then again I'm sure any other place would do better then this place has. I was wary of Fattoush Mediterranean Grill based on the mixed reviews on Yelp. But I gotta tell ya, I was very pleasantly surprised by this gem. The food was absolutely delicious, service was fantastic. Our server Aiman was very attentive and on point. As soon as we were seated, we were brought complimentary warm, soft pita bread with some accompaniments - a tomato based salsa, marinated green olives, and mini sliced pickles. We decided to order the mix platter for 4 - warning, it is A LOT of food!! The mix platter includes lentil soup, 3 appetizers (amazing baba ghanouj, muthawama, hummus) and a tray of grilled meats (kefta kabob, shish kabob, chicken tawook, and shawerma) sitting on a bed of 2 types of rice. We added lamb chops to the combo. The platter also included fire roasted tomatoes, onions, jalapeños, bell peppers, and slices of a thin bread that was slathered with a delicious paste of some sort. Most lentil soups tend to be bland, but the lentil soup at Fattoush was delicious! Every single grilled meat was super juicy and bursting with flavor. And the lamb chops were some of the best I've ever had! MUST TRY!! We also ordered 3 drinks, the Fattoush Fresh (a smoothie of fresh mint and lemon), the Fattoush Cocktail, and Caramel Crunch. They were all yummy. We ended the meal with kanafa (which was scrumptious) and mint tea, a perfect ending to an amazing meal. Aiman explained that the restaurant was under new management. Whatever they are doing, they need to keep it up. Next time I'm in Chicago, I'll be sure to return to Fattoush... for the food, and hopefully try the shisha. read more

I came here and I was not sure about the service under the new management. The service was excellent and the server was very attentive giving me water and my hot bread immediately. They gave me a few samples to help me decide on what to eat. I ordered the chicken salad it came in a pita shell with fresh vegetables that tasted like heaven. I also got to smoke a great hooka every 15 minutes the server came and changed my charcoal keeping it fresh. This place is going down hill. Used to come here all the time. Have had family parties here. The food was always great. We ordered a large catering order for 10 people and it was absolutely terrible. On pick up the customer service was terrible with the staff bickering at each other and not greeting us on arrival or saying anything after we picked up the order. After unpacking everything we come to find out they messed up the order they gave us 2 large trays of babaganoush instead of 1 and 1 of Muthawama... and on top of that the chicken and steak was incredibly dry.. kufta was still good which saved the dinner but what makes zero sense is that the platters did not include the lamb chops.. we called and complained and they claim lamb chops arent included in carry out orders... only dine in... absolutely ridiculous.. they did nothing to make the situation right for messing up the order or excluding the lamb chops from the platter. For $300 we wont be coming back ever again. No wonder this place was a ghost town when we picked up the food. What a shame. read more

Love this find....drove by and all of a sudden had a taste for middle eastern food. We were greeted with a huge smile that was very welcoming. My first impression was this is going to be good...just had a very authentic feel. We arrived for a late lunch and they were fairly busy. But service was never an issue. Our server was prompt and very courteous. I started with an Arabian coffee (mild sweetener)...loved it. We were brought pita, With a relish and cucumber yogurt. We kind of went out of the way to come to Fattoush far out into the burbs to try their Friday lunch buffet. Upon arriving at 11am, lunch was not ready so we told them well be back at 12. That's a little late to start lunch and a waste of a precious hour for an out of towner. We ordered a hot tea which was nothing spectacular about a green tea Lipton bag in a saucer. Buffet selection is limited, but good. The hummus and baba ganoush was excellent. Nicely flavored with a creamy and chunky consistency. Salad was salad, I needed some vegetables since I found the selections quite carb, starch, and protein heavy. Chicken dishes were delicious and it was like a flavor Mecca. Nothing tasted similar. The swarma meat wasn't too dry and I even braved the lamb intestines stuffed with a rice mixture. Yes it will disgust some, but it was probably the cleanest, non-gamey intestines that I'll ever try. Just get over the textural thing and I assure you these have a little bite and snap to them like a bratwurst. Only thing they had for dessert was coconut cake which was too dry and sweet for my likings. I would give it 4 stars, but I had to hold back on the price since I couldn't justify almost a $18/pp lunch. Otherwise great service and a good way to sample new foods. read more
