Center Stage Theatre is a concert venue and I got to visit when I came to town for a concert. This…read morejust might be my favorite concert venue that I've ever been to for a more intimate show! I loved the layout of the theater, where it seemed like all seats were good seats. They had both floor tickets where it was standing room and then seating that looked kind of like colosseum or stadium seating. Although they had this seating, the place still felt intimate and really added to the ambiance of the concert. I also loved the layout of the lobby area where there were different entry points and a good space for the vendors to sell tour merch and several areas where they had mirrors that gave great photo ops or an area to check your outfit. Loved Center Stage Theatre!

As someone who has acted before, I can say the issues we experienced were more on the production company than the venue itself. The main problem? Smoke. So much smoke. It was hard to breathe, my eyes were watering, and I'm a pretty tough guy--but my fiancée was really suffering. When I called to request a refund, I learned it wasn't just us. If you're going to use a fog machine, you need to disclose it ahead of time, especially for children, people with respiratory issues, or anyone sensitive to it. On top of that, there was a child crying during the performance. Instead of quietly and discreetly taking them outside, staff tried to address it in the middle of the show, which was distracting for everyone. That said, I do want to thank the venue for working with us to get a refund. The space itself is nice, and I'm open to returning for other productions in the future. Just a heads-up--the seating is very intimate, so be prepared to be close to your neighbors.

Restrooms were clean. The only issue is there seemed to be no accommodations at all for people with disabilities. I was there with my kid who has had 11 surgeries on his legs in the last 14 years. There is no way for anyone to sit down and see the state which is a real and literal pain for my kid. I asked one man who was working there if there was an elevator available and informed him that my kid had disabilities (we've got the tag in the car and everything). He gave me an annoyed look and said no. Later I found out that the man was letting people with canes out a different set of doors. If only I had known that we had to flag our disabilities to gain access to ADA accommodation... Yes, my kid has a cane but he doesn't always use it because he doesn't always need it.

I like that you get screened with security as you enter the courtyard and then you can walk around. The food stand in the corner was priced well and had nice service. The negatives were really the venue itself. "dark and dirty" were how I would describe it. It just felt like no one really cared about keeping it up and the audio wasn't great either although you never know whose fault that is.

The Tabernacle is primarily used for concerts, but hosts other events as well. The building originally opened as a Baptist church in 1911. It became a music venue in 1996. Today, it's owned by Live Nation (Ticketmaster is a subsidiary). The building retains a lot of the look and feel of an early-20th-century church with interesting architecture, stained glass, creaky wooden floors, and all. It has a lot of character, as they say. It also has a lot of bars, at least one on every floor (there are four floors). We attended Ali Wong Live here on Saturday, April 11, 2026. It was a great show and we enjoyed the venue. My wife bought tickets back in November. We sat on the lower level, fairly close to the stage, in Section 102, Row F, Seats 1-2. These seats plus "Premier Parking" in the 100 Luckie St garage (LAZ Parking) cost $380.09 after taxes and fees, via Ticketmaster. The 100 Luckie St garage is two blocks down the street from the Tabernacle. It's an old garage with tight turns and spaces. Before the show, I got a Hendrick's double-shot gin and tonic at the bar in the side room on the second level. It cost $33.45 after tip. A good drink, but expensive. Before this month, the last time I was here was Saturday, August 9, 2014 for a big Yelp event / Yelper party. For that event, the venue was occupied by a variety of vendors spanning multiple rooms and floors. It was a lot of fun.

We had an 8 pm reservation but ended up getting there early. We were seated 30 minutes early with no problem. The rain was coming, so we were offered indoor seating, which worked out perfectly for our group of 6. Service was on point and timely this evening, and truly a genuine friendliness. I just wish I could remember her name. There are some delicious choices on the menu--meat, seafood, & vegetarian. The drinks were all well done and tasty--from the Old Fashions to the lemons drop to the shot of vodka. Our food came in good time, and every dish was prepared just right. The igloo decor was cute and "wintery" with cozy blankets, a basket of treats and goodies, and a heater. The package included free ice-skating and unlimited games in the rooftop. Our waiter was awesome and very attentive to our needs. However, the experience wasn't comfortable enough for the high price we paid. Even though we had one heater, the igloo was still a bit cold. Also, the heater's cord was short, so we couldn't move much and had to stay right next to it. Maybe adding a second heater and a hot chocolate station in the igloo, along with some music, would make the space feel much cozier and nicer.
