The school consistently appears to be understaffed, and families frequently receive messages asking parents to keep their children home due to staffing shortages. In addition, there have been multiple state violations, poor communication, and several incidents that we feel were either undocumented or not appropriately addressed. As parents, the safety and well-being of our children are our highest priorities, and unfortunately, we no longer feel confident that this school can provide a safe and reliable environment. Due to these ongoing concerns, we are actively seeking a different school for our children. Based on our personal experience, I would not recommend this school to other families.

Our family has sent 3 kids to this school over the last 5 years. My favorite part about this school…read moreis the community of friends, parents, and kids it's created for our family. Currently we have an infant with Ms Tresa and Ms Brittany and a Pre-K'er with Ms. Sarah. Ms Tresa and Ms Brittany are so warm and make it 10000x times easier to drop her off each morning... they also do a great job keeping to the schedule I've requested for our baby. Our Pre-K'er blows me away with how much he's learned in Ms. Sarah's class. The way she integrates academics, emotional intelligence, and social and community responsibility has done so much to shape my kiddo. Highly recommend considering this school for anyone in the market!

We have done the Fine Arts Friday program they had and my son loved it. I have no complaints and recommend them highly to anyone in the area that wants to homeschool. I cannot say enough good about FCA and look forward to many more years of homeschooling with them.

Dennas is a real artist who has made his living making art since he graduated from Auburn maaaany years ago. He has the best philosophy of teaching a real art curriculum that is adapted to suit all the ages. He teaches to the Head, to the Heart and to the Hands, meaning they learn art laws, art expression and technique. My son is the only artist in our family where all his siblings are athletes and it feels so great to see him in his element at Firstlight! He is growing as an artist, being validated as far as his hopes and dreams, and he just thoroughly enjoys his art classes and the other students. The whole staff is just great and I can't say enough about it all!

I have taken maybe a dozen classes here, and the teachers and owners are absolutely wonderful…read more A few things to note: The facility is prone to heat and cold weather changes, as it is a tent. Bring appropriate workout attire, especially if it is chilly. There isn't a consistent or structured curriculum as with some aerial gyms. (The upside of this is that you don't have to sign up for a class series, you can drop in, and the teacher can teach to the level of the folks in the class.) Some teachers do much more difficult moves in level 1 than others. As with all aerial gyms, push yourself but also listen to your body. If something is more advanced than you're ready for, ask for an alternative skill to work on. One of the areas the instructors and owners here really excel at is watching for proper form and conditioning. That's important to preventing injury.

The gym is not a true gym, no hard wood floor or bleachers etc. But is spacious. They do have a really nice playground too. They have a hall way system where you walk on one side to go one way and the other side to go the other way and visitors can walk in the middle. Works out great so you are not cutting through a line or tripping over a kid! Only con to this school is their parking lot. If there is an event, play, concert, etc it is a MAD HOUSE, they allow people to block others in and pretty much you have to wait at your car until everyone who has blocked you in comes out of the building. They had a open house there on night, and being the think ahead prepared mommy that I am I arrived 45 minutes before the doors opened so I could get a parking space and be parked legally and not block anyone in. When it was time to leave i literally waiting at my car for 45 MINUTES until some jerk finally came out and moved. This school definitely needs a bigger parking area! I was told there is a lot right next door to the school that they were trying to get and I pray that they do because it is impossible to fit everyone in their parking lot at one time for a function. And parking on the side of the street is impossible because both sides of the road are drop offs so the only place for parents to park it in the parking lot.

From a parent that has used her in many different aspects, Tammy is not only intelligent but children love her! Children tend to gravitate toward her, she really has a way of getting through to each child. She is a God send for parents to help them determine what is best for their child and also become a liaison between parent and school administration. Since she has so many years of experience from not only a teaching aspect but from the administration side of education, she is the perfect person to help guide not only the child and child's family she is trying to help, but the school or administration side to work together for the betterment of both the child's success and the success of the school. In the end it is a "Win Win" for both sides involved! Katie is such an understanding and compassionate person, who loves children. Since Katie's background and degrees are in education with special emphasis in special education, this allows her a special patience and understanding when dealing with children. I feel she has a unique way of explaining and instructing children that they really respond too. She has been helping tutor our son for several years now and has help him achieve success in all his academic studies. She has also help him with organizational and test taking skills. But even with all of that, my son just loves to share his thoughts and successes with Katie. She has help him want to push to be a better student and person. She has become like one of the family. I just can't say enough about Tammy, Katie and TG Learn!
