The only positive this about this place is that you're an hour away from Nashville, TN. I first came to Ft. Campbell for pre-deployment training back in 2004 before going to Afghanistan. While we were there, we had an ice storm. Which was pretty for 2 seconds. But it was brutally cold. Lucky for us, I just found out recently this will be my husband's last duty station. Thank God it will only be for a short time so he can retire. But I'd expect to see a lot of Nashville activity come up in the next couple years.

The famous guitarist, Jimi Hendrix, joined the 101st Airborne Division, where he was stationed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He spent much his time their playing his guitar. He was later honorably discharged following an ankle injury, as his problems were judged to not be treatable by "hospitalization or counseling". Fort Campbell lies on the border of Kentucky and Tennessee. Outside of the gate is Clarksville, Tennessee. They have a lot of popular fast food places here like Burger King, Taco Bell, Subway, and Smoothie King. You don't need a military ID to buy fast food or to get a coffee at their Starbucks too.
