Definitely one of the best indoor mini golf places that I've seen. Each hole was creatively crafted and well made. It was $18 for each person to play all three courses. It wasn't a quick run through, you get plenty of play for that cost. We didn't end up having any drinks but the bartender was friendly when she checked us in and the bar looked well stocked. We came mid day on a Saturday and the place was pretty packed. I love that they have 21+ hours available as well. read more

Not kid friendly. No kids after like 5 or 6pm makes it hard for families. Our family showed up excited for some putt-putt after driving half hour, but were turned away. read more

It's so cute! I can tell it has real potential. I should have come when it first opened because it has to be at least 50% of the holes are broken (I feel like this is a low estimate). I think if they did some maintenance I would have enjoyed it more; I won't be going back unfortunately. But I really, really think the idea is so cool and the building is so cute. read more

My family and I went to Fat Putter over the holidays, and we visited within their first week of opening. I'm hoping to see several things change as they get more settled in! **THE GOOD** - We have several mini golf indoor bars like this in the Twin Cities, so it's fun to see thi concept come to Des Moines! They serve standard drinks, a few signature ones, and some canned/tap options. - There were some really unique holes and designs, and perhaps our favorite parts were the "mini game" activities sprinkled throughout outside of the mini golf holes. - You get to play all three 9-hole courses for $18 per person, so while it felt a bit steep, it provided a few hours of entertainment for our family! **THE NOT-SO-GOOD** - They advertised that you can get Fong's here, but that's not the case. The only bring in Fong's for catering or large events, otherwise you have to go get Fong's and can bring it here - not the same as advertised. - Compared to other similar concepts I've been to, much of the mini golf didn't seem as well built. It was only a few days in and golf carpet was pulling up, things were broken, ripped, or showing major wear. A few elements of a few different holes were closed for maintenance already. - We asked a few questions of the bar team (which is where you also buy the mini golf) and they didn't know much at all about the courses. They said they hadn't even played yet themselves. This seems like something that would be important to do during a training for a new spot. I'd love to see them actually partner with a food option, or provide light snacks for purchase. I hope they'll keep an eye on maintenance so the courses don't get worn down over time. And I'd love to see staff trained in mini golf so they can support any needed fixes or answer questions. read more

Today was our 3rd attempt at trying to go here. We've waited in line. We've sat at the bar. Unless you're a crusty white man, you don't get served. It has been nothing but an absolute disappointment for an establishment that should easily be able to pull 5 stars. read more

Tried the 21+ after 6pm on Saturday night. We had already ate, so didn't get any food. Friends of ours were there. You can order Fongs now. Problem is...you might have to go pick it up from Fongs on 4th yourself. ‍. Sometimes they have issues with delivery they said. So my note, ask before you order if they are delivering there cuz things are going well or if you need to get it yourself. I can't imagine ordering and then being told like my friends to now go get it myself. As for the bar, they have a few specialty drinks. I'm a whiskey drinker so not the greatest selection, but I found something. For golf, there's three 9-hole courses. One's like a casino theme, one a sports theme, and one an amusement park them. They're pretty neat looking too. We kept score on our phone. I do love how each hole has a drink table. You can choose any course first. It's 3 courses for $18 on the weekends. It got busy and we got stuck on the green course behind some pretty "not aware of their surroundings" group. It started to back up pretty good. So much so that it took a group of 5 over 15 minutes to finish a hole. How about you pick up your ball and move to the next hole? Wish the bar could monitor that and move them along. It was crazy. The holes are pretty amazing and NOT EASY. We didn't do the last course as that "Same" group moved on and we knew it'd be a long night of going nowhere. :) I was surprised they didn't have any waitresses coming around to take drink orders. Maybe they were understaffed. I percent didn't like the fact that as my drink was on a table at the hole we were on, the waitress came to pick up other glasses. Without asking me as I'm right there, she put her fingers into the glass to pick it up. I had to yell No but no apology, no nothing. Just a face of oops. And all she had to do was ask if we were done or if the glasses were ours. I'll try again. It was fun enough!! read more

Went with grandkids over Christmas break. Had a great time the grandkids enjoyed the various courses and playing the arcade games. It was t terribly crowded and the lines weren't terribly long. Very friendly staff! You can order drinks/food as well. We spent less than $100 for 2 adults and 2 kids under 13! read more

Took my son today. Cool place. It has 21+ hours so that could be cool for some adult fun or a date night but is also family friendly during the daytime. I love that Des Moines has something like this. read more

Fun spot for mini golf. Large beverage selection. Went to celebrate a teen birthday with family, which was perfect. Games got old before we got all the way through (27 holes), and the gameplay is a little random (courses are getting a bit worn structurally), but it's a cute place, suitable for all ages. read more

My daughter had a birthday party for our granddaughter and Alli was the best!!! You just Dont see customer service like this anymore. She greeted us, did a great job of explaining how everything worked and then even assisted with our grandson who was really grumpy. The place is set up perfectly.
