Back when it was Henderson Family Medicine and there were fine doctors there like Dr. Bill Dennis,…read moreit was an efficient and extremely good medical office. Today, it is not even a step above my Veterinarian office. You cannot speak to an in-house person. When you call their local phone number, you get an out sourced calling station run by incompetent people. One day I was disconnected 5 times, and no one ever called me back. The medical staff leaves a lot to be desired. The only reason I continue to go to DPC is the Laboratory Staff. Donna and Samantha are the very best phlebotomist in Vance County, plus I can get my lab results quickly in DukeMyChart.

Incompetent morons. Doctors/nurses are simply not capable of doing their job. When confronted with…read morea problem in their service, they continue to claim they have done nothing wrong, when it is quite obvious they have. The complaint has to be risen to the level of their "risk management" department, which is another name for "please don't sue us" department. Doctors won't bother to look at records from previous providers, and insist that you see another "Duke" specialist for no other reason than to charge more money. If you have complete, recent, and accurate medical records in your hand, they will literally refuse to see it. Due to the fact that Duke staff cannot acknowledge their own mistakes, I will be forced to make a malpractice complaint to the NC state medical board. I strongly suggest you research any doctor you might try to see here, and check if they have any other malpractice complaints filed against them. Also, the Duke website describing their doctors and nurses always gives them a 4 or 5 star rating, but it is clearly fake because nobody is allowed to leave their own rating on the Duke website. Where did these ratings come from if I cannot leave my own review? Check any other third party website and the same doctor will have a 2 or 3 star rating, at best. Additionally, wait times are unacceptable, the building is dirty and not well kept, and the office staff is totally clueless. One star is more than they deserve, but it's the lowest option I can give.

Done blood test and vitals. Sat for about 3 hours again waiting. PA returned with rude attitude. Claimed it was definitely my thyroid. Although admin. Coumadin in case and said I must return next day to ER for ultra-sound. Returned early next day. Sat over 2 hours in ER waiting room. Nurse claimed ER doctor FORGOT to schedule ultra-sound. Finally got ultra-sound and they then processed me back through ER with vitals and new blood test. Sat for over 4 hours and new female PA stated severe dual blood clot on left leg. Another dose of Coumadin and sent home. Follow up with family doctor. Never seen or spoke to the ER doctor since he hid in the back of the ER room. Complained to hospital staff of the poor service and both head nurse and head ER doctor were unavailable for weeks. ER head doctor stated he would look into it, but done nothing. A follow up with him and he claimed he couldn't control patient's health coverage and repeated "I'm a nobody", over and over like an immature child when I stated he was not anybody to deal with if he done nothing like he has. Never witnessed such unprofessionalism in my life! Then got the bill for those two ER days. The hospital is in my Health Insurance network (Aetna/Coventry), but ER doctor was not. Over $7,000 for two days of absolutely the worse ER service I ever witnessed. Insurance refuse to help since the hospital controls ER and doctors. Local newspaper refuse to listen and ignored my email complaint. Sent the complaint to WRAL and they ignored it. I will DIE in the back seat of a car before I ever use Maria Parham ER service, ever again! Since i am new to the area, I spoke with many local residents regarding the Maria Parham ER and I have not found one positive feedback. Many claim they travel to Granville ER. In fact, many other areas of the hospital is worse than 3rd world country service and equipment. One man I spoke with had a serious heart issue called the widow maker... doctor refused to do surgery at Maria Parham hospital because that area of surgery is in the BACK of a tractor trailer parked backed to a hospital door. I had blood work done and I felt like I was on an assembly line to be chopped up like a chicken. The employee missed my vein and stated he was confused with my doctor's request. The blood test later was lost and sent to the wrong doctor. Later got the bill for the blood test. Insurance covered 80%, so I had to pay close to $300 since co-insurance is tact on. What is that? Basically the hospital overcharging and insurance refusing to pay or disallow because they are in network and both a greedy! STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS HOSPITAL!!!!!!

30JULY25 | 1522 For: All and Veterans (Must Read)…read more MedAccess Urgent Care - Youngsville: Formal Complaint Date of Visit: 28 July 2025 at 11:51 AM I am deeply disappointed and disturbed by the treatment I received at MedAccess Urgent Care - Youngsville during my recent visit. After my evaluation, I respectfully provided verbal feedback to the Physician Assistant while waiting for a copy of my treatment summary. During this time, I was unexpectedly approached by a man who identified himself as the 'Manager of Physician Practices.' He projected an immediately unapproachable and authoritarian attitude. He escorted me just a few feet away from the front desk to a semi-private area, where he began questioning me in a harsh, condescending tone. I felt intimidated and repeatedly asked him to return to his station and to leave me alone--requests he blatantly ignored. Without my consent, he took possession of my personal identification and medical documents, stating that he had the authority to make copies for his records, despite my lack of authorization. When I objected and asked for my treatment summary--a standard patient right--he refused. I attempted to rationalize this by mentioning "insurance fraud," which made no logical sense in the context. Instead of resolving the issue, he raised his voice, ordered me to leave the premises, and stated that my treatment statement would be mailed. This level of hostility and lack of professionalism is absolutely unacceptable, especially in a medical setting. Under fundamental Patient Rights, his behavior appears to violate the following standards: - Right to respectful and dignified treatment - Right to receive a complete explanation and copy of your treatment plan and discharge documents - Right to privacy and protection of personal health information (HIPAA) - Right to refuse any unauthorized use or copying of your personal documentation Regardless of his position or education (as advertised on his business card), his behavior was intimidating, unethical, and in clear violation of professional medical conduct. No one seeking medical attention should be treated with such disregard. I hope MedAccess leadership addresses this situation immediately. Until then, I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this facility to anyone in need of respectful, secure, and professional urgent care. Respectfully, Proud U.S. Veteran | 30 Years of Military Service
