When I checked in at FastMed Urgent Care in Candler, NC for a drug screen, I let the front desk guy know that I was running late for a meeting and needed to get in and out. The place was completely empty. I should have been in and out, snap-snap. Instead, I sat in an empty waiting room and waited and waited and waited for over 30 minutes while an overweight nurse took her sweet time in back. When she finally called my name, she had an attitude. Apparently, the front desk guy told her that I had complained about the wait. By then, I was running so late that I forgot not to flush. Although I had emptied my pockets and put all my stuff in a container before I peed in the cup, she gave me a hard time and made sure I knew that she put that information in my record. I had to go back into the toilet and try again, which caused me to miss my meeting. Perhaps I should mention that I'm 72-years-old and this drug screen was for a part-time retirement job. While a young pill popper might go to the trouble of smuggling something into the bathroom with them, it isn't likely than on old lady in her 70's would consider doing anything that stupid. It also isn't likely that I will return to that FastMed again after such a bad experience. read more

I have been to FastMed Candler in the past and on "those visits" would have given a high rating. One in particular I had an asthma attack and the Dr really made sure I got healthy by trying steroids first then moving to a pneumonia antibiotic that finally cured the breathing problem out of bronchitis. I only went in once and did not need to be re evaluated to get the right meds to work. This past visit I went in with horrible ear pain and was told, "you need an appointment there are 27 people in front of you." Wow, did I deserve that comment? In terrible pain I made the appt and waited hours in pain to see the Dr. Took me in and got blood pressure oxygen but not temperature. I thought odd but again was in terrific pain. The Dr saw me for literally a minute. Put the thing in my ear said, "you have outer ear infection I'll call you in ear drops". Also asked me if I used swab in my ear. Two days later in pain and getting worse I tried to use portal to message but did not work. This is when I see there is a temp on my visit (no one took my temp) and a note that I denied putting things in my ear. Sounds like Dr thinks I am lying and what does it's even matter I have a serious infection I need to I be treated accurately. So drove down to leave the Dr a message. A different lady at the desk asked me 3 times Dr's name which I repeated over and over I did not remember. Then slapped a clipboard at me and told me to fill it out which when I handed it to her with message to the Dr to please prescribe antibiotics. She said, "when I have time I will review this but you will have to stay here to see if you need another appointment". Over a 1/2 hour passes (only 2 people in this waiting room) and she finally says "He will have to re evaluate you you'll need an appointment". Very rude disrespectful for both encounters. I thought about it. Cancelled the 2nd appt for my ear infection and will never go back to FastMed as long as this Toxic Staff is working there. They won't miss me and I won't miss them. I ended up going to Mercy where the staff was "super nice" even said I hope you feel better. The Dr took his time and said the drops could not help as I have an inner ear infection. Those drops are only if there is an infection on your skin on outer part of ear not in the canal. He prescribed antibiotics. Thank goodness I switched. He did not rush and told me to call him if I was not significantly better in 2 days. What a much better experience!!! read more

Nothing Fast or Urgent about this place. Waited for over an hour in an empty waiting room while my wife's vomiting in a bag. Don't waste your time, go somewhere else. It's not URGENT care when you're booked up with non-URGENT appointments. That's called a doctor's office. Prioritize your patient's based on acuity! read more

Danger! Go somewhere else if you value your health. Had my wife sit in the office after a reaction from the flu vaccine. They told her a provider would see her when she walked in. While she waited for someone to see her she was told they were booked until closing, that the provider could not see her. If they couldn't see her they should have told her right away so she could have gone somewhere else. To finish the saga, went to Mercy Urgent Care down the road, met with a doctor. They gave her a steroid shot, called in oral steroids and an epipen. That is what good medicine is about. read more

4 hours plus to get Covid test. Only 4 patients in waiting area upon arrival. Reception was quick, no wait, sign in with "communal" pen, have a seat. 1 hour later, handed a communal iPad for patient sign in...we were watching her in this process of handing out ipod...SHE NEVER ONCE SANITIZED it between patients. Receptionist sang, "oh, it's beginning to look a lot like Covid..." continually pulled her hair, touched her face, stated computers are out like 30 times, chatted it up on the phone and w patients about anything other than signing people in. When I asked her at hour 3 why she wasn't sending patients in her response was we only have one nurse and one assistant. By hour 4 I'd guess they had served 5 or 6 total patients... When I finally got in room #3 the young nurse was rude and obviously stressed...at that point I wasn't looking for pleasantries...just get my test and get out...SHE DID NOT FOAM IN OR FOAM OUT, no sanitizer in exam room. When the PA came in HE DID NOT FOAM IN OR OUT... PLACE IS UNSAFE, a joke. read more

I got sick, super fast. From 6am to 4pm, I found my self struggling to breath. I went to Mission ER, unbelievable wait. We left. Fast med got me in as soon as I finished my paperwork, Dave and Stephany are wonderful. Stephany took my vitals, health info, covid test negative, and chest x-rays. Dave told me the diagnosis, prescribed meds, I was out of there in 1 hour 15 minutes. The lady at front desk, I wish would have caught her name, she was great too. While I was checking out she was up front we people about the wait. Sometimes you gotta wait, or you sometimes you don't. I would go back and highly recommend. read more

I went to this office Saturday afternoon. I was never asked why I was coming in, but I was coughing my fool head off. I was brought back and a woman took my temperature, blood pressure and pulse. The PA came in and immediately asked if I needed a work note, I was a bit confused as to why he would have asked that but we went forward. He auscultated my posterior lung fields and then said my lungs were clear, and since my pulse oximetry was 90 I was fine. He said he would prescribe a cough syrup and sent me on my way. I had no discharge paperwork and he did not call in a prescription. I must say that I am a Respiratory Therapist and I'm quite aware of how to evaluate a respiratory problem, and this professional has absolutely no clue. After I left the office I went to the emergency room and was diagnosed with pneumonia. Maybe y'all should get some qualified staff read more

Fast Med in Candler by Pizza Hut; I rushed home to pick up my daughter at 7pm so she could get a drug screen for the new job she needed very badly. We were there by 7:10 pm. At 7:20 she was back in car saying that she couldn't urinate and they wouldn't let her try again for 30 minutes and they were closing in 20 minutes. Hmmm, went in to ask what the rationale was for that rule . Very unmotivated receptionist didn't get up but yelled David! They have a question! David comes to counter eventually and says that if you don't wait 30 minutes after drinking your urine gets "watered down" and will be sent back. Stated it was in the policy. So daughter asks to see the policy so she will know the rules next time. He really tried to avoid that. I told her not to make him do it as that might create an enemy. We were back home at 730 pm and I guess David and his sluggish receptionist were as well since clearly that was their goal......to close up! And not at 8pm as advertised! Very poor service. In fact a disservice to someone who needed help to get back on their feet. You never know how your actions affect the lives of others. Shame on you for your poor customer service! read more

I have been ywofastmed twice in the last year, once for my husband's tooth absess and this time for my own lower respiratory infxn and both times the staff there has been fast, caring , professional, and thorough. Excellent customer service. Front desk employee, Adam, was incredibly friendly. The nurse and PA we saw were also very nice. I must say the staff here are a group of very young fit males. Very unusual to see all handsome smiling faces at one of these places. Definitely coming back here in case needed! I might just have to fake an injury to say hello! Jk. read more

Staff is very friendly and helpful. I go to the family practice part of Fastmed. The hours are much better for me since I have blood work done every 3 months. They explain results and make changes as needed to my medications. read more

Staff was nice and well manner. I like how it was quick when it comes to not waiting in the waiting room long However, what I didn't like about it was the doctor just talking at me not with me. It's a lot of medical language that I didn't understand and she said it so fast that I didn't have time to process it and ask questions. It was overwhelming. I just really wish they take the time to actually show that they care about you, not until the end when I was about to leave, they said, "Hope you feel better". Anyways that's just my two cents. Care is great & customer service at facility but when their billing department processes your claim they bill incorrectly so its not paid by the insurance company even when they are in network. We have been to their facility 3x's in the past year & a half. The first 2 times they billed it billed per the facility doctor which is a on network doctor the last time they billed the facility instead of the doctor. Aetna has called their billing department & I have as well telling the company billing department how to bill the claim correctly so they can be paid. The thing is they don't care because if the insurance company doesn't pay they send you a email saying they will automatically bill the credit card on file in 2 business days. So they don't care because they are paid regardless. Buyer Beware!! The bottom line is their billing department is unethical they don't care to resolve a claim denial error when told how to fix the claim so it will be paid because they have been paid already by automatically charging the credit card on file. This is seriously a unethical way to function in business & after this experience I highly recommend against anyone going to any of the facilities in the future. read more

Always a kind and friendly staff. I've visited this location twice and each time I've always felt like the doctors and NP on staff listened intently and diagnosed correctly. I've never waited longer than 20 minutes in the waiting room to be seen. Having a medication dispensary on site is also a plus. read more

I brought my 13 month old son in on a Sunday because his pediatrician was closed and he was misdiagnosed. I ended up having to go to the ER to get a second opinion. I would not recommend urgent care you're better off going to the hospital and waiting the extra time. read more

The worst possible care and service all around. For those of us with serious medical issues or injuries, the smiling, handsome faces of FastMed did nothing but insult and overcharge for 15 minutes of measly and incompetent medical services. Unfortunately, the young PA whom I had the misfortune of seeing, treated me with the same respect one would exhibit towards the average, annoying household fly. If you are reading this review and you need to be seen QUICKLY and by someone who doesn't undermine a patient's intelligence, redirect yourself immediately to Sisters of Mercy urgent care centers. You will be seen much faster that "FASTMed" and treated with kindness and respect. You will also save yourself a good deal of money. My nearly 3 hour wait equated to a 220.00 bill for some of the worst treatment by a medical professional I've seen in my nearly 15 year career as a certified nurse anesthetist. I am the first one to stand up and defend the long hours and demands this profession can put on anyone under any circumstances. This particular individual does not deserve the benefit of the doubt. Appearances can be deceiving folks. Remember, this is your health, time and money. Don't waste it on someone who doesn't give a damn. read more
