Francis is One-of-a Kind!! He's honest, meticulous, considerate, professional, and knows his trade! I first met Francis over a decade ago as he was the go-to appliance repair guy for a client of mine. Francis went above and beyond on 3 separate occasions to meticulously repair various finicky appliances of my client's. He never cut corners, was patient, thorough, and above all honest. This was a repair guy I was keeping on my short list! Cut to 10 years later and my own 3-zone 20-year-old central air conditioning is failing, and I'm being told by 3 HVAC contractors that I must replace everything, which feels like a hard sell and doesn't sit right. I wondered if that "honest appliance repair guy" might have an HVAC company to recommend, so I called Francis. Turns out he does HVAC, and said he'd be happy to come have a look. Unlike the breeze through assessments of the other HVAC companies, Francis takes his time and checks EVERYTHING. I had been previously told that all three of my in-ceiling air handlers as well as all three of my rooftop compressors had leaks. I was pretty sure that one air handler might have a leak but was fairly certain the other two did not. Before beginning his inspection, Francis told me about certain things often done in the industry to "make business". Things like not fully tightening connections so that barely perceptible but persistent leaking occurs, creating an all-but-certain reason for a service call down the line. Sure enough, we found loose connections on the 2 compressors that most recently begun to lose cooling capacity. Francis was thoroughly systematic in his process of assessment. He explained each thing he did; why he was doing it, what it would show or eliminate, what the results mean, and if applicable, what options there are for proceeding. The initial complete assessment determined we absolutely needed to replace 2 rooftop units, and given the age and condition of the 3rd, should do that too while we're at it. No surprise there. Francis had confirmed through pressure tests that 2 out of the 3 air handler coils did NOT have leaks, and therefore neither did the in-wall lines to them (counter to what I'd been told previously). The third air handler likely had a leak somewhere, but where still needed to be determined. He said it could be possible that depending where the leak was, he could possibly repair it in place. I already knew that if not, the alternatives would require opening walls, re-framing, and a lot more $$$. Replacing the rooftop units came first. Living in a Brooklyn row house, getting anything to the back or to the roof is a challenge. Plus, we have a huge oak tree right in front. Francis could have just said a boom truck is the only way, and so added $$$ to the cost, but he was willing to literally work with me, so we carried them through the house and up the fire escape together. Francis confirmed 1 of our 3 in-ceiling air handlers had a leak. Luckily, it was in a place that could be repaired via the ceiling access panel, and no walls or framing had to be opened. It was not EASY to get to, but Francis got creative (and contorted) and made a flawless weld. Replacement condensate pans that would fit our units are no longer available, so Francis fabricated new ones for us. Francis documented every step of the job, from start to finish, met every challenge as something to solve, and left everything neat and tidy (his work and our home). I first contacted Fastech 2000 in early Spring 2017 to address a malfunctioning wine refrigerator. I tried and could not get it back on after a brief power failure. I worked on it unsuccessfully for a couple of days. Could not get it back on. I was getting frustrated and needed help but did not know who to call. There were good reviews on Yelp for Fastech 2000 so I gave them a try and scheduled for a visit. I figured that i would take a chance. Francis promptly responded and we scheduled for him to look at the fridge. He arrived on time on that day and diligently addressed the problem. He reprogramed the little fridge and got it working properly. It did take some time being that it had to be pulled out from under the kitchen counter - surrounded by built-ins. Also, the digital programing was a bit tricky. He was extremely careful not to damage the floor, etc. I was favorably impressed by his knowledge and understanding of machines in general. Fastech's fees were reasonable and more than fair. We discussed and decided to schedule a dryer vent clean-out and general maintenance upkeep of the 11 year old Whirlpool dryer. (Getting a bit squeaky.) Francis ordered new belts and wheels, etc., for the dryer. He returned a couple of weeks later and did the work on the dryer. It is working so much better now. Again, Francis took his time to explain things to me. He did not rush. He has a kind manner and is respectful. The parts and visit cost was fair and well worth it. I am very happy that it was done. Now, here comes my scary and complicated HVAC problem. Upon having the central AC serviced in the Spring, the HVAC company (that I have used for over a decade) announced that the entire system had to be replaced. (11 years old.) It was not blowing cold air. To make a very long story short, they said that the condenser box (outside) and the air handler (inside) had to be replaced being that the condenser box had a "leak." They disconnected the system when doing a "isolation" test ($1000) to absolutely determine where the leak was. They did not determine where the leak was. To replace the system was $10K. Really? Yikes. It got very hot (May, NY, 2017.) After much hand wringing,I decided to get some estimates. Again, I scoured Yelp and found some possibilities. This was a big problem and I was concerned about getting ripped off. But then, there on Yelp were pictures of Francis working on AC condenser boxes! I immediately gave Fastech a call. Francis came out that very evening and analyzed the problem. I assured him that it was not an emergency but he said that he had the time. He felt strongly that the system could be repaired. He carefully ran tests and considered reasons for the problem. He worked for 5 1/2 hours from 7pm to 12:30am. Hot and buggy! There was a part that needed to be replaced. We needed more refrigerant...some other stuff and... he fixed it! It has been working well ever since. (He came back, no charge, to check a week later.) The cost to repair was a fraction of the quote to replace. This seemed reasonable to me. So, so very happy. I am very pleased with Francis' abilities and hard work. He takes the time to explain everything. He patiently answered any questions that I had. Fastech's fees are reasonable. I am a careful and skeptical customer. Fastech 2000 is the real deal. Very impressive!!! Personally, I am putting Fastech 2000 on my speed dial and deleting all other home improvement #s I had before. These guys are true professionals: Efficient (turn around 1-2 business days with special parts To Be Ordered!), Knowledgeable (Technician found the issue quickly, was eager to walk me thru the entire process of repair) Flexible (came over on weekend and offered to work after 6pm on week day) Reasonable prices (he was trying to save me money by attempting to fix the cheapest issue first. Total bill came out according to quotes-no hidden cost). If you have any house appliance issue and value your time, do yourself a favor, stop reading these reviews and call Fastech 2000. Still reading? I guess it's not an emergency or you have nothing to read. In this case, this is my story: I live in a townhouse, my AC stopped working on all floors. I call Fastech on Friday and left a message. Be aware they have automated voice mail (Good. No Receptionist-Less to pay for). I stated in my msg the problem I had (in my case, not a true emergency). They texted me back within an hour. Be aware that majority of communication is done via texts (Love it!). Technician called me a little bit later to discuss the issue. Francis came over on Saturday and quickly identified several potential issues. He gave me quotes and ordered replacement parts the following business day-Monday. The same day he texted offering to stop by on Tuesday evening so that I wouldn't need to take time off from work (very thoughtful!). I didn't want to rush and ended up taking the day off on Wednesday. Francis came over with 3 boxes: 1- the part that has to be replaced, 2&3 parts that might need to be replaced. He had plan A, B and C before showing up (absolutely love it!). He replaced necessary parts and took the pain of taking (if you are guy-read) "Blower Motor" (if you are a girl-read) "huge dusty thingy" from the 3rd floor to the outside of my house to repair and clean it. So if you are a neat freak, these are your guys. I swear my house was cleaner after Francis left than before he came in, and my AC works now! Brief history: I met Francis F. about a month ago when he came to my home to buy some workout equipment I listed on Craig's List... We talked a bit at that time, where I learned he was in appliance repair and Heating, Ventilation, & Air Conditioning (HVAC). From that I kept is card, but didn't think a lot about it... A few days ago, my heat went out partially (one zone would not call on the Boiler) so I had an immediate need. My plumber did not respond to my messages, and my gas supplier did telling me that without a Service Agreement, just to walk in the door and diagnose my problem would cost $330 plus tax! Given that, I thought I had nothing to lose... I called Francis's number, left a message, and got a call back within 10-minutes. He had a full day or more of work already mapped out, but an hour later he was in my home shooting the problem... Once he had a repair plan in head, we made an appointment for the fix the next day. That was fine as I was not desperate as the 2nd zone was working and the house was still being partially heated... Quick aside: When Francis walks in your home as a repair man, he looks like an HVAC Super Hero... He's covered in tools, meters, flashlights, along with some basic parts, and knee pads already on, and even a hat with lights to shine on what he's working on... He's basically prepared for almost anything, based on years of experience... OK so back to my problem. Francis returned the next evening. Within 45-minutes he had fixed our problem. It turned out to be a small micro-switch that was part of the failing zone valve. I won't bore with the specific details, but here's my assessment of Francis and Fastech 2000: The work was done neatly, efficiently, and most important accurately. Based on my experience Fastech 2000 will be the first call I make for any future appliance or HVAC problems we encounter. This goes for any upgrades or installations as well. My final word is that the price I paid was more than fair, and my wife and I were very happy, and so glad that a chance meeting, provided a tremendous resource. Fastech 2000 and Francis - the BEST repair guy I can imagine! This is what happened last week. The 30-year-old gas stove heated to temp but it made an intermittent huffing whomping sound that was scary (it's gas after all). I called someone else highly recommended but she wouldn't even give me a ballpark price range on the phone for what it might be, as much as I pressed, although her "diagnostic" fee for a visit was clearly set at something like $85. Next I called Francis from Fastech 2000, who came over that night (he asked for a 6-9pm window). He diagnosed the igniter as the problem, happened to have the right thing in his truck, and proceeded to do the repair (which entailed moving the stove away from the wall). Seeing the accumulated years of dust and dirt, I brought out a rag and a vacuum cleaner, and Francis insisted on doing the cleaning for me -- that was not my intention! Then, seeing a piece of felt bumper that was hanging off the vacuum cleaner, he whipped a tube of glue out of his tool belt and fixed the vacuum too. Repaired stove, repaired vacuum cleaner, cleaned floor. I mentioned to Francis that the also-30-year-old dishwasher had stopped spraying the top rack, but I'd kind of given up on that after the repair guy from Ardsley that I HAD been using for 20 years charged me $70-something for a diagnostic visit, and told me that the part I need to repair the spray arm was no longer available. (Even for a 20-year-long customer, my former repairman insisted on charging me to tell me there was nothing he could do!) Anyway, Francis from Fastech 2000 inspected the dishwasher, took a few things in the bottom apart, cleaned out some plastic and an old straw that had slipped into the drain area, scrubbed off some accumulated gunk, and turned it on. It worked - washed all the dishes, bottom AND top rack. He charges a fair price, and, oh joy!, his business card states (and he reiterated) that if he doesn't fix something, the customer doesn't pay. He said he also does HVAC, and I haven't had my winter inspection yet, so I'll be calling him again shortly. What a find! read more

Without question, I could reiterate all the accolades Francis of Fastech 2000 has received through the years: his incredible talents, kindness, responsiveness, professionalism, etc. All of that is true. Our situation was different. We had recently moved into an older house & found ourselves faced with a very unusual & challenging problem with a convoluted space housing a decayed washer/dryer, to say nothing of the associated, basically non-existent duct work. Francis agreed to take-on the project. Little did any of us know that new, complicated issues awaited us at every turn. I can't imagine anyone else could have untangled the intricate puzzle which included installation of very creative duct work. Francis was able to figure out how to remove the old washer dryer trapped in a non-forgiving closet, & installed new machines into an extremely tight space, including new duct work, safety measures, & recommendations for additional electrical outlets, in addition to other very creative & thoughtful vital improvements necessary to the success & integrity of the project. It took patience, perseverance, an advanced level of out-of-the-box thinking, extensive, solid, & varied experience & time, but Francis got it done! And .... along the way we met someone who possesses a high degree of honesty, integrity & ethics. I cannot recommend Fastech 2000 enough. After our refrigerator was no longer staying cold, we first called another appliance repair company for service. The technician arrived and determined that the refrigerator needed a new compressor. Because the cost to replace the compressor was $500, the technician recommended we buy a new refrigerator. After some research, we decided to replace the compressor and left a message for the technician to do the repair, but a week later he had not returned our call. This worked to our advantage because our next call was to Fastech 2000. Francis, the owner, answered the phone and immediately pinpointed that the problem was most likely the relay based on the age of the refrigerator. He stopped by later that same day, determined that the relay and capacitator needed replacing (total cost for parts were only about $70 ), and got the refrigerator working again by installing temporary parts until the new parts came in. I am so thankful to Francis for doing this because it allowed us to begin using the refrigerator again as it took a few weeks for one of the parts to come in. AND, I'm especially grateful for the money he saved us. Another nice plus is the system Francis uses of keeping the customer informed of appointments and arrival times by text message. Not knowing and being new to the area we called Sears home maintenance to repair our broken refrigerator. Big mistake! The technician diagnosed us as having a broken fan and needing a new one. 5 weeks later we finally had the service appointment only for him not to show up or for Sears to give us a courtesy call letting us know we didn't have to spend the entire day waiting. One week later we had a second appointment for the repair (took another day off work) he did not show once again. Hours upon hours on the phone with Sears, They were not accommodating nor did they have any answers. Fed up I had them cancel our warranty as I could not imagine dealing with this company for one more minute. I found Fastech here on Yelp and prayed we would have a better experience. Finding Francis was a blessing! He came that night, late, working with my boyfriends schedule. He was such a professional that he insisted on covering his shoes in our home when I told him it wasn't necessary. He fixed the issue with the fridge which the tech from Sears misdiagnosed. He even showed my boyfriend how to fix the problem if it reoccurs. We were so happy with his service we are using him to do our heating and AC which are in need of repair. I can't say enough about this company, and its owner, Francis. Called him from NC during the 1st heatwave of the summer; the only couple-of-years-old thru the wall unit wasn't working. Got a super-quick call back. Francis said he was swamped, but asked for more info. When I told him it was for my 96-year-old dad, he was there extra early, before the rest of his scheduled calls THE VERY NEXT DAY!! Who does that these days?!?! He tried a number of repairs (the unit wasn't old) until we agreed it needed to be replaced. In the meantime, he lent my dad a unit. Francis and his crew installed it, rebuilding the enclosure to end=sure a snug fit. They were there several hours and weren't done until after dark. In addition to the repair business, I really liked how well Francis communicated with me throughout the whole process; I got a text at every arrival/departure with status updates. If he ever leaves the HVAC business, he should run an airline! Many business would surely taken advantage of the fact that a) we were dealing remotely and b) he had an elderly person as a client. In a world where you see and hear so many stories of such abuses, it was beyond refreshing to be treated as if we were family. Makes you feel there's hope for humanity after all. read more

My dishwasher broke and water was leaking all over the floor. I researched yelp to see which company has good reviews and chose Fastech2000 given the good ratings. I am so happy I chose Fastech which far exceeded all of our expectations. Francis is a true gem; he is one of these people who are hard to find these days. He called back promptly and walked me through over the phone how to turn off the water valve; then he did some troubleshooting over the phone. Subsequently Francis scheduled an appointment asap (he actually offered to come the same day in the afternoon but my schedule was so full, so he came first thing the next morning. He fixed the motor and made sure the dishwasher was clean then he took plenty of time to show me how to maintain it and what to do if something gets stuck. He even polished the outside so my dishwasher now looks brand new. The price was reasonable I would say average, but the service is truly unparalleled. Can't say enough good things about this company and especially about Francis. Yes, it was a bit tricky getting in touch with him at first, but when I spoke with him, he showed great concern about getting my mother's AC fixed, as it was very hot, and she's a senior. The company who worked and maintained that unit for years kept telling my mother that she'd need a new unit. The moment that I knew Francis was the real deal was when I told him we were open to getting a new unit, and he said, 'let me look at it-I can fix anything'. And this wasn't said in a bragging manner, just matter of fact. Well, it turned out that the old company completely messed up the wiring, and Francis correctly assessed the problem and, as promised, fixed it. His charge for the services were quite reasonable. Most of all, my mother felt completely comfortable with him, and mentioned to me several times about how focused, how meticulous, and how polite he was. In an ideal world all repair services would be as good as Fastech. When we had a problem with a Viking microwave I first called Viking, got the name of a repair guy who came out and said we needed new part. He returned a week later with a replacement but realized he had mis-diagnosed; it was a different part that was broken. Weeks went by and Viking guy reported the new part was on back order. More weeks and he stopped returning calls so we cancelled Viking guy and called Fastech for rescue. Francis arrived exactly when he said he would, he diagnosed the problem (faulty micro-switch) in less time than Viking guy took to remove and open the microwave cover. Francis even had a replacement micro-switch with him. No back orders, no waiting, no leaving messages: In half an hour the microwave that had been broken for months was fixed. After struggling with a boiler and a wash machine for a few months, I came to realize how difficult it was to find someone who can clearly communicate what the problem was. I had two other boiler repair services over and both gave me differing explanations and left behind a mess. Francis not only quickly diagnosed the situation but explained it in detail and in terms that made sense to me. While he was over, he disassembled my washer and was able to change the requisite sensors as the machine was constantly out of balance. Even before he showed up, he sent a link to show where he was on GPS as he arrived to my home. He left a detailed receipt of the work he performed and the parts used and sent follow up text messages regarding next steps such as ordering parts and scheduling a follow up. A+++++++++. I've never had a better experience. A tenant was complaining about lack of heat in the apartment, so called Fastech to come take a look. I also wanted to install a Nest thermostat but wasn't sure if my house was compatible given I have two wires and its a wall furnace. Francis showed up the same day I called, and was very prompt (down to the minute of 4:04pm). Francis worked diligently to re-wire (adding in a c-wire), and set up the thermostat to be up and running. He also discovered a leak in the boiler room which could have been disastrous if not caught in time. Francis stayed until 2 in the morning to fix the issue and came back the next morning to finish up at 8am. Truly feel Francis went above and beyond with his services, and was fully transparent with what he was doing and how much it would cost. Francis is the real thing. I've been managing property for 45+ years and I've dealt with countless HVAC people. Francis has been servicing my 6-unit building for three years and it's now time for a review: 1) Francis knows his trade backward and forward. He is way above most people out there. 2) He will not try and up-sell you on additional work that there is no need for. 3) Francis will never pad the bill by adding on additional work that others will tell are part of the job. 4) He will get to you as soon as he can. He's a one man show, so he has a lot of work to do. It took him until 6:00pm on a Saturday to get to me, he was tired, but he fixed my three ton a.c. and went home. He could have pushed me off until Monday, but he didn't. He is worth the wait. 5) Francis has heart. Having Francis from Fastech provide a pre-winter checkup of our 2-year old boiler was a revelation! Even though we told him it was not urgent, he still managed to fit us in the same day that we called. He was courteous, personable, knowledgeable, and thorough, patiently explaining everything as he went along. He gave our heating system a top to bottom examination. In addition to cleaning off each of the boiler's burners, he checked and corrected a number of issues that the unit's installers had left us with, including sloppy wiring and an inaccurately set pressure gauge. He tested out every aspect of the system, taking photos with his cell phone to have a record of model numbers and the setup for future reference should any problems arise. He even got the hot water circulation going on our basement heaters so that they are functional now for the first time in 30 years! read more

Francis is our continuous life saver! We had a reputable westchester hvac company service our system when we first moved into our house a year ago. They didn't know how to handle our system and told us it definitely needed to be replaced. I called up Fastech and Francis was here the next day (took 2 weeks to get a quote from the other place). He literally said, "I don't mean to be rude, but why would you replace a working system?". The other company was going to try to take us for 16 grand. Francis has been taking care of us ever since. He has always gone above and beyond. He even came and worked until midnight when our heat went out and we had a newborn at home. My experience with Fastech is quite possibly the finest experience I have had with any contractor, ever! I feel that Francis would be better served rappeling to the jobsite from a huey to remedy the the situation at hand. My unit, A Goodman of 1 year was installed improperly by the subcontractor. The contractor bound the electrical line to the copper refrigerant housing. Over time the vibration of the fan wore away the casing of the wires and one day the entire house lost power when said unit was activated. We lost our compressor, the refrigerant and much more. Francis was relentless in his time and effort to not only repair the problem, but in his efforts to teach the underlying cause of the situation and what remedy would be undertaken. My only regret is that Fastech does not do Masonry, Carpetry or Law. read more

Francis knows his stuff. My central A/C unit shutdown and I'd been trying to get it fixed with a local, trustworthy and highly reviewed HVAC company. After filling the freon several times and being out the better part of a thousand bucks, I searched around and called Francis. He quickly diagnosed the leak and found it. No wasted freon/money. Knowing that the leak is in the coil, but that the unit is at the end of (actually a bit past) it's theoretical lifespan, I've decided to instead get a quote on a replacement unit rather than repairing it. Will update the review once it is sorted out but in the meantime, I highly recommend this company! And on a side note, I've tried several firms in this area with my prior technician the best that I'd found with Francis obviously a step above. read more
