Tag and title businesses are supposed to streamline the process of registering a vehicle in the state of Maryland but unfortunately that was not my experience with Fast Track. I made four visits over the course of six days in an attempt to register a low speed vehicle - a legally recognized class of vehicle not only in Maryland but across the country.
After providing the necessary paperwork and VIN #, I was told that everything would be ready the following day. But when I returned, nothing had been done and I was told to come back again. This happened twice more. On my last visit, which was a Saturday, I was again told nothing was ready. At my insistence that something be done while I waited, paperwork was processed and I was handed an Off Road Vehicle sticker to put on my vehicle - NOT the LSV license plate and title that I needed. Pointing out the error, a call was made to the manager, who did not know how to process my request so I was told that "someone" would have to go to DMV in person - either Fast Track or me - but they would not be able to do anything until the following week. At this point I took my paperwork and left. I downloaded the proper LSV forms from the DMV website - easily located had anyone at Fast Track looked - and finally got the title and registration processed myself.
My biggest frustration was not that the two women who I dealt with at Fast Track were initially unaware of the proper procedure to register an LSV but that over the course of SIX DAYS, neither of them made any attempt to find out. Very discouraging and a real lack of customer service.
Even with a basic car title and tag transfer, there are too many other more professional places to take your business. Or make the time to go to DMV yourself. It certainly would have saved me a lot of time and frustration over dealing with Fast Track. read more
