Fast Lane is an honest, great, and fast (like their name suggests) place to take your car for an oil change. I came in for an oil change with two people ahead of me and was told it would take about 30 minutes. I went across the street to Starbucks and chilled until my car was done. I came back 25 minutes later, and my car was done. The guy was nice enough to let me know of something things that needed servicing soon, but never PUSHED any extra services one me. Coming from the Bay Area I was amazed (in the worst way possible) of how expensive oil changes were in the Goleta/Santa Barbara Area. I was called multiple oil change spots in Goleta and was quoted anywhere from $45-$80 JUST for an oil change. In the Bay the average cost is $20, but the mechanic joked and said everything in Goleta/SB is expensive, which is true. Overall, I thought they were nice, honest, and efficient. IF I ever forget to get my oil change while I'm home (highly unlikely with these prices) then I would definitely come back to Fast Lane. PRO-TIP: Show them the coupon off their site and your standard oil change comes out to ~$40 (which is GREAT for the SB area). read more

Terry and his team are amazing. My family and I have been coming for years for oil changes. Great service and when calling ahead to check how busy they are, you'll be sure to be in and out very fast (under 30mins). Oil changes come with a list of checks on the car for things to watch out for and some basic cleaning is a bonus! Rates are great value for the area. Always very friendly and happy to help! read more

I needed an oil change and have been going here for years. The service level has slowly been eroding over the years. I stopped in last weekend to get my oil changed and the oil pump was "broken". They offered me synthetic for my vehicle which uses "regular" oil at double the cost. I declined and said I would come back. I went today only to be told they had just serviced their last car. I was there 20 minutes before closing and there was no other cars! I said "you close at 3pm". His response was "the pumps are shut off and we need to mop". They've lost another longtime client with multiple vehicles. It's unfortunate how terrible the service has become over the years. It's not like this was the first time. However it will be my last. read more

I always go to Fastlane oil change The owner Terry has a good mechanic named Danny he's awesome they don't try to upsell me or push me away. They are reasonably priced read more

I brought my extremely reliable Tacoma in for a simple coolant flush before a 200-mile trip. I'd never had any overheating issues, and I even asked the head mechanic to check that the cooling system looked good before I left the shop -- he said it was in great shape. I've made the drive Santa Barbara to LA drive hundreds of times without any problems. But about 100 miles into this trip, my truck suddenly overheated. I had to get it towed home. Now I might be facing a blown head gasket -- a major, expensive repair -- all because of this service. Maybe they used the wrong coolant, didn't refill it properly, or somehow clogged the system. I don't know what they did, but it was something seriously wrong. Bottom line: go somewhere else. Their negligence may have permanently damaged my engine. read more

So decided to try this as opposed to go to the dealer. Saw that they advertised fast service and that they vacuum out the car in addition to some other services such as topping off fluids. So service was fast, all were courteous but..... No vacuuming as on their advertisement. Asked why and was told it was broken. Asked how long broken, answer years. Asked why then do they still advertise that service and it is even on the invoice but in my case said No/Owner. They need to remove that service from their advertisements and signage, or fix it or get a darn portable vacuum. Its minor but really irritating and frankly sloppy and deceptive. read more

This place was awesome. Had an oil change a week ago before our trip. We had an issue with the undercarriage we thought that might have been something done/not done during oil change. When my husband went to inquire about it upon our return. He was more than satisfied with management not only listening to him but following up on it and correcting all issues. I/We recommend them whole heartedly. read more

Outright dangerous. Had my car in for an oil change. That includes also a tire pressure check. I checked my tires at home after they were cold. Instead of the factory spec 29PSI, all for tires were at 45PSI!!!! I verified with two different dial gauges. I appreciate the fast service but with that lack of attention to detail, I cannot recommend them for anything. read more

The worker here was very rude and not helpful at all. I had the list of services included with the oil change pulled up on my phone, and he told me they were all completed even though only about half were done. He also very loudly took an unprofessional call. I recommend going somewhere else, and if you do go here, make sure you ask about every single service included to make sure they're done. read more

Rude customer service and very willing to take advantage of customers with little car knowledge. I was helping a friend get her car smogged after fixing a problem, and was unaware of needing to drive it for a certain number of miles post-service. When they checked the car codes, they knew it would fail, not because the car was malfunctioning, but that not enough time had elapsed. Instead of informing me, they ran the whole test anyway and I had to pay $70 for a failed test. I was then told that I would have had to ask beforehand to check to see if the car was ready to smog, in order not to get an expensive failed test. An honest, reputable mechanic would have realized that a customer with little car knowledge would not know to ask that. My guess is that there are very few repeat customers at this location, with good reason. read more

I had never had any service here other than smog checks but last month brought in my car for an oil change. The staff were all respectful, quick and efficient. They didn't try to upsell me on anything. Got me in and out in less than 30 minutes and were very reasonably priced. I appreciate not having my time and money wasted. read more

The time had come. The powers that be demanded a smog check. I appreciated the "walk-in" nature of this auto mechanic shop. I was greeted kindly by a helpful mechanic who performed my smog check very quickly and efficiently. He was the only employee there, yet he expertly juggled everything "wheely well"! The other customers there told me of the fabled reliability of the establishment. It's always encouraging to hear other locals proclaim their loyalty to a business's good service. Forewarning: the parking lot is quite chaotic at times as Fast Lane is located at a very busy gas station on Fairview. read more

I uses to take my car for oil change and smoke control and everything was good , but today I have the worst experience in my life Technician was un respectful and rude to me since the beginning until the end I will never bring my car's here anymore not recommend ever if prices are good, No worked thanks . read more

I do NOT recommend this business to anyone. Today I stopped by for an oil change. I waited in my car for over 5 minutes before a man came over and asked what I wanted. He did not welcome me to the business or say hello. I seemed to be a bother to him for asking for an oil change. The advertised price for an oil change is $56.95. Because of added fees the cost was $60.84. The check list of items to be checked were not done. He did fill the window washer and he checked the tire pressure. I hate Jiffy Lube because of all the extras they try and sell you. But at least they say hello and welcome you before they try and rip you off. I am not going back to Fast Lane. I don't want to be a bother to the people working there. They could care less if I was there or Jiffy Lube. Since that is how Fast Lane wants to treat costumers I will go back to Jiffy Lube. read more

Friendly service and reasonable prices, these guys are quick and reliable. Got my oil/radiator fluid changed before at other places *cough* Jiffy Lube *cough* and they never actually refilled the fluids. Never had a problem or doubt here though. Highly recommend read more

Came in for an oil change, which went fine. They told me that my brakes really needed to be replaced and that they could see they were already grinding. I had something else that I already knew I needed done though, so I took my car to Airport Motors and asked them to do the brakes while they were at it. The result? "Nah, I didn't touch your brakes. There's nothing wrong with them." So yeah. Won't be walking through Fast Lane's door again. read more

Avoid fastlane: -Extremely slow - $$$ ($100 for synthetic oil change) - they didn't tighten the filter prooperly which caused leak. Better off at Big Brand or Jiffy Lube (or anywhere else). read more

My parents came into town to visit and my engineerical dad took my car here and proclaimed their awesomeness. I've brought my car here for the past year and a half. I love this place. Not 10 minutes! Maybe if there was no wait, but every time I've come it's been 45 minutes of more, but the location is good for walking around to random stores while you wait. I know nothing about cars but the oil change was fine and the service was friendly. They didn't vacuum or wash my car as another reviewer said. I didn't see this offered or mentioned anywhere. read more

Want to INCREASE you carbon footprint and create unnecessary pollution And get ripe off This place will do it for you. My 19 y.o. granddaughter took her Kia here for an oil change. Car has only 30k original miles. The manager tried to up sell her with an "Oil Flush." Told her that the engine would be damaged with out. There was only about 6200 mile from the last oil change at the dealer. Just plain B/S that they use scare tactics to recommended un-needed service. Next they put a sticker on the wind shield to say next oil change is due in only 3,000 miles. Kia says normal is 7,500 mile. (and 5,000 if stop&go LA driving) Kia also says flush is never recommended. CalRecycle's new motor oil campaign says : "The old standard of 3,000 miles is woefully out of date and no longer applies to most cars. Many cars, even older models, can be driven up to 5,000, 7,500, 10,000, and even 15,000 miles before needing an oil change. By volume, used motor oil is one of the largest hazardous waste streams in California: Almost 115 million gallons are sold in the state each year. While about 70 percent is collected after use, it continues to be a serious environmental problem because it is insoluble and contains heavy metals and toxic chemicals. It makes its way into lakes, streams, and oceans via the storm water system and endangers fish, waterfowl, insects, and other aquatic life. In addition, one gallon of used motor oil can foul the taste of 1 million gallons of water. Drivers can do their part to help the environment by simply looking up the recommended oil change intervals for their cars and changing their habits accordingly. Advances in modern engines and improved oil formulas have made the 3,000-mile oil change obsolete. Under normal driving conditions, cutting back to the automaker's recommended intervals will not affect your car's engine, its performance, or your warranty." So, Fast lane you get 1 star. read more

Fast Lane Oil Change - Oil Chang on the Acura!! - Oil Change Stations Near Me - Goleta, California

Tried out this place for an oil change for the first time recently. About a week later, my brakes stopped working - super scary by the way! This had never happened before. I had to get my car towed to my mechanic in Goleta from Carp. He told me the hose on my brake booster looked like it had been pulled out and then put back in real shoddily with a clamp that doesn't belong there, therefore, it did not hold the hose in place for very long. I spoke to a friend about my car problems today and she said her car also broke down after having gotten an oil change done at Fast Lane. She said a hose had also been pulled out in her car, though not for her brakes. Coincidence? read more

Terrible customer's service. Their website says that they are open 7 days a week from 8am-6pm. After seeing this online, I showed up on a Sunday at 8:15am and the place was deserted and closed. I called the following Monday morning to ask about it and the guy who answered just said, "Yeah, we sometimes close early if it's not busy." Umm...the place had never opened that day in the first place! I even called to see what was up with the Goleta location being closed and the phone line just kept ringing until it made a horrible screeching sound--no answer. I let that answer slide...Next, I politely expressed my frustration that their hours are not what their website says. He just said, "Yeah, well the owner controls the hours so there's nothing I can do about it."So basically they are just open whenever they feel like it... If you're not going to be open 7 days a week, 8am-6pm, DON'T put that on your website. Beyond that, when a customer asks when they can rely on you to be open so they can come by, the answer shouldn't be "well, I don't know because sometimes we close early." Do NOT recommend. read more

Friendly service team. Good location. No appt required! Get the coupon from the Fast Lane web site so the price is VERY COMETITIVE. I had the smog check done and they met my expectations. The "sign" for the shop is too hidden because the gas station obscures the view from the street. I highly recommend them. read more

Why does the oil change on my 1997 Cadillac always costs more than $100.00. At 3000 miles my wife always takes our car for an oil change. 3000 miles ???. In my younger days we always just added oil if needed. most of the time it wasn't needed. if this trend continues, you will be using more oil than gasoline. and $100.00 per oil change ??? Not only that. I took my 1999 chevy in for an oil change and a week later my warning light goes on."Change oil soon." I believe Fast oil change is too fast for me. I went in for a full synthetic oil change today for a Mercedes Benz SL500 and was very pleased with the service that I recieved from David and Daniel, not sure what's up with the negative reviews! The oil change took about 30 minutes because they only have two people working but they fit me right in. They use Mobil 1 oil which is my preference of oil. My car takes about 8.5 bottles of oil and there was no upcharge for it. The total price for a full synthetic oil change is only $99.00 which is a huge steal in Santa Barbara as everyone else quoted me $150+. While I was there I even got a new windshield wiper for 10 dollars. These are usually $25 online PLUS shipping, once again another good deal. To top it off I had a $15 dollar coupon so my grand total was $103.00. They were very professional and courteous and answered all of my questions. They topped off all of my fluids. My filter was a special order (They didn't have one on hand) and they had it within 30 minutes. I recommend that if you have a european car, call in so they can get the filter for you in advance. They give free oil top offs for 5,000 miles. They said you can get it checked every couple of weeks and if you're low on oil, they'll top it off with no charge. Anyway, I think I found my oil change shop. NO upsells whatsoever (Which is way rare for me). Just honest guys. Super pleased with the excellent service that I received today. read more

Ed and Danny took great care of me at Fast Lane! Went in for an oil change and asked them to check for any urgent issues. Fast Lane was handy and able to take my car for an oil change one day. Afterwards, it dripped oil in the driveway. The oil filter did not fit my car perfectly, leaking oil on the engine. I had to get the engine cleaned and detailed to discover if it had a leak as it continued to drip oil. I went to a new place to get the proper oil filter. There was no leak, it had all dripped down from the first mistake. This became time consuming and expensive. I tried to meet the Fast Lane owner on several occasions, but was always told he was not there. Finally one day I did approach him and he stated he never serviced my car there! They kept no records from my first visit and told me my form was false. This is not an honest place to do business with and I do not recommend it. read more

Great service. Not pushy but most mechanics are like that in Goleta. They recommend each other too if you notice. Quality is great and they do little extras here and the there like inflating tires, filling water resovoir, etc etc for free. Hightly recommended. Most visits are 10 minutes but some are a little more. A quick flush and oil change is 30 minutes. Very friendly!! read more

I am coming back here for any future car services! I came in looking for help with my car's oil situation and they were super helpful and informative. They checked and filled all of my fluids, pumped up my tires, and cleaned my windshield. One of the mechanics took the time to show me my dirty air filter and gave me advice on how to fix it cheaply. I am not very car-savvy, but they patiently answered all my questions and showed me how to take car of my vehicle. And this all took 10 minutes at the very most! Like I said, I am coming back here again and recommending them to my friends. read more

These guys are great, friendly and all around excellent customer service. They def have my business!

This place is great. I got there at 510, they close at six, they checked me in immediately and told me it would be ready in 20 minutes. I went and ate something disgusting at Taco Bell down the street, came back and it was ready exactly 20 minutes later. With the 10 dollar coupon you can print off their website, it was a little bit under 50 dollars which is totally reasonable for this area. They checked and topped off all my fluids and checked my tire pressure, but BY FAR the best part was that they didn't try and high pressure upsell me on any shit I didn't need like they do at Jiffy Lube (and a lot of other places but it's really bad there). He asked me what kind of oil I wanted, I said the cheap stuff and that was that. Real solid experience, would recommend highly. read more

Completely useless mechanic. and kinda pervy too. I will never go back nor will i recommend to my worst enemy.

I went to Yelp for reviews on Smog shops and the sidebar offered a coupon for Fast Lane. They said they could get me in this afternoon and that was the most important feature I was looking for. As they said, I was in and out in 20 minutes even though there were two cars on racks when I pulled in. And they honored the coupon. Completely satisfied with the service I received. read more
