Shady Business Practices and Hidden Fees Galore
My experience at "Fast Cash" pawn shop was nothing short of a disaster. I walked into the shop with high hopes, but what I encountered left me feeling scammed and deceived.
I initially spotted a firearm I was interested in and inquired about their layaway process. The employee assured me that I could put down any amount of money with no minimum requirements, and changing guns or selecting a different item was no problem at all. With this information in mind, I placed $50 down on a handgun, fully expecting a hassle-free experience. Little did I know, I was in for a rude awakening.
What the pawn shop worker conveniently omitted to mention was the jaw-dropping 20% restocking fee for changing guns, as well as their unspoken rule that required customers to put down a third of the gun's price and pay in increments of one-third of the price. Clearly, the "salesman" either lied to me or had no idea about the actual store policies.
When I returned to add more money to the layaway and noticed another firearm that better suited my needs, I asked if I could switch to the new item and make an additional payment. This is when a short, old individual, whom I won't hold back from describing as rude, laid out a laundry list of rules and fees that I was never made aware of. I was told that I could switch guns, but I'd be slapped with a 20% fee or a minimum of $20, whichever was higher. In other words, they'd rather steal $20 from me than sell me a more expensive gun, which defies all logic and common sense in business.
Adding to this infuriating experience is the fact that these rules are not posted anywhere within the store, nor are they communicated to customers during the transaction. Instead, they conveniently tuck them away on the receipt, only revealing their hidden fees after you've parted with your hard-earned money. This lack of transparency is not only unprofessional but also highly deceptive.
Customers should be able to make informed decisions about their purchases and layaway options, but "Fast Cash" seems to prefer keeping their customers in the dark until it's too late. It's a blatant disregard for ethical business practices and a stark reminder to steer clear of this establishment. The fact that they rely on concealed rules and fees to extract more money from their clientele is a clear indication of their dubious intentions.
"Fast Cash" pawn shop, with its shady business practices and hidden fees, has left a sour taste in my mouth. They seem more interested in making a quick buck by deceiving their customers and piling on unexpected charges than in providing a fair and honest service. I had been a repeat customer in the past, but after this experience, I can confidently say that I won't be back, and I'll make sure to spread the word about their unscrupulous tactics to anyone who will listen.
