I wanted to hear from someone who knew my struggle, man. The struggle of owning a dog that everyone else thinks is a bad animal. The struggle of a dog who gets spooked by strangers, strange dogs, strange sounds, strange places. It's not her fault, it's how she's wired, and as Amanda explained, I could, over time, rewire her. That's what we've been doing over the last five lessons; No shock collars, no strict scolding, just a slow reintroduction to the world she'd learned to fear. Lots of teensy, tiny treats, plenty of praise, and an easing of the natural world around her.
