I called in advance because it's a 40 minute drive from our air b&b. They said yes they do gel x fills. Got an acrylic fill on gel x nails. She cut them too short then charged me 5$ extra because they "use more product on long nails". Including 10$ for cat eye. From out of town. Difficult to find builder gel nails. My tech was difficult to communicate with. I did get what I came for but quality is very poor. I had lifting so she took off the old gel on all nails which is never pleasant but this experience was much more tough. My nails were left as nubs in terms of length and sore. The gel fill is so bad - lumpy surface and nail shape is more random than round. Her application brush was in poor condition with frayed fibers. It showed her lack of care and attention to quality. Polish is sloppy. A young man did my pedicure and he did a good job. Neither tech appeared to clean their tools which was concerning. I would recommend pedi but not gel polish. The place was packed. I wish I knew the name of a good nail tech there because I like how fast it was. 60 mins for both. Expensive $95 for both. read more

Very dirty! Nail dust and grime everywhere. I sat down to start my manicure and the hand towel in front of me was full of some one else's nail clippings. The manicurist just shook the clippings onto the floor and tried to use the same towel. None of the tools appeared to be cleaned between clients. read more

My friend and I decided to try Fashion Nails while in Rhinelander. We don't normally go here for our nail salon. We were walk-ins and we were able to pick out our colors right away. We were also seated after we picked out our colors. We didn't have to wait at all. Both of the nail techs that we had were both amazing. I had Lee and my friend had Hana. Both were amazing! They spent a lot of time making sure our nails were cleaned from our old color. They also made sure our nails were neatly trimmed and shaped. They also make sure our nails were completely covered with the powder to avoid any nail not having color. We were highly impressed by their work. We do plan on going here again when we are in the area. They are a little on the pricey side. The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because the nail tech I had forgot to wash her hands in-between clients. But she could have used hand sanitizer, I am just not sure. But I would highly recommend this place. Give them a try! read more

Was not busy when I arrived for my appointment. Gel fill in and a pedicure. started with the pedicure, VERY rushed, she kept looking at the door instead of focusing on me. I had decided to pamper myself and get gel polish, the, upgraded scrubs and lotion and paraffin wax. The leg massage was a joke, all she did was rub the top of my shins for about 1 minute, rushed thru everything. Then onto the nails. Wanted pink and white ombré, they turned out pretty well after I went home and smooth out the rough edges she left. As more people came in the faster she went. I understand quantity to make more money, but shouldn't you take care of the client in your chair first to keep them coming back? Don't think I will be going back. Looking for a new place now. Such a disappointment! Had an appointment and had maybe a 30 minute wait; which was okay, it happens. Had my pedicure first. Then my manicure. Totally inept ... no clipping the cuticles on your fingernails or toe nails; I had a darker color on my toenails and went with a lighter color... not all the previous polish was removed so there were areas around the outside of the toenail that still had the darker color. Then with my manicure... same thing. Only one cotton swab of cotton was used for my toenails. And the same with my fingernails; only one cotton swab used, even though color being removed was darker. For my fingernails I went from a dark color to a French manicure. When my manicure was completed... there were streaks of the previous color. And it was the darkest french manicure I ever had with the mixture of the gel and the previous color. I had mentioned I was concerned about the previous color still being on when they started with the new polish color; but was told it wouldn't show. After that I didn't comment other than during my manicure I asked if they could please trim and file my fingernails before putting on new polish. No way will I ever return to this salon. Later when mentioning to someone that had recommended this salon, I was told the manager was on vacation in Mexico for the week. Perhaps with a manager there It would have been different. Amy did a supurb job. In 30 minutes I got a full set of tips plus 5 layers of dip powder finished off with base and Top coat clear gel. All for $50 and last minute appointment. It's been a week and my nails are still perfect and no cuticle problems. read more

Do not recommend. Went in for a full set with gel. Very uneven, sloppy, and the fastest manicures I've ever had. Didn't clean up cuticles. Polish isn't even. There was polish on the underside of my fingers and glue. Shape is uneven. Here is a picture of what I requested along with what I got. Upon returning for a 2nd manicure, I was serviced by a male manicurist. I don't know his name, however it was one of the worse manicures I've received. You name it, everything was wrong, uneven nails, French was crooked and uneven, left hangnails, jagged edges. I'd like to find a positive, but unfortunately, I can't. I initially recommended this establishment. The 2nd visit was a different technician and he was terrible. I got a fill on my nails that I had gotten elsewhere, they were burned as they went under the light and you can still see the color from the previous nails I had. Update: went again to this place today and I'm sooo not impressed. They upcharged me and my friend and did a shitty job. Will never return again. I definitely do not recommend this place. Went there today and the male who worked on my nails was more focused on incoming customers, his phone, the television, anything besides my nails. When taking off my old acrylics my nail started to bleed and the put my new set on without cleaning it off so I have blood underneath that nail. He didn't work on my cuticles at all. Also, instead of taking the time to remove my old set he pried them off causing me excruciating pain. Had I not said something I would have had terribly uneven nails because instead of correcting them he was just going t carry on. All in all- I don't recommend. I honestly wish I could put a negative star. On a different note: I went with a friend and her manicurist was very nice and actually spoke to her unlike the guy who did mine however her lady neglected to make sure her nails were completely dry so after spending money on a set of acrylics they were smudged by the time we got to our next destination three minutes away. Not impressed at all. Second time I went with my daughter and grandaughter. When I called I specified that we had a younger one with us. We got there and every pedi chair was empty except for the one next to the kids chair. You would have thought they would have done this pedi away from the kids chair so we could sit together. Nope, second time taking my gradaughter and she sat at the other end by a stranger while they sat my daughter and I on the opposite end. This is supposed to be a fun experience for her to do with us. Not sit by a stranger. My daughter's pedi started 10 minutes before mine by a gentleman that took his time with her. I went there Friday and paid $75 for the worst Mani and pedi i have ever had! The water was freezing and the guy that did my nails couldn't even do a French manicure neatly, it was slanted and he painted the whole toes on my pinky and fourth toe. I got the gel polish and its already coming off but I still have nail polish on the skin around my fingers and toes and after the guy announced that I had a lot of dead skin on my feet (its freaking winter! I know this! Hence why I went there!) to the whole salon he still didn't get 50% of it off. I could have done a better job myself, but I was looking to have a relaxing pedi with my bestie. I have been going to Fashion Nails for several years and have never had a problem. They take very good care of your nails making sure there is no "fungus" going on especially with gels. They do beautiful work and I have recommended them to my friends. I always get compliments on my gel nails. I usually go to the same gentleman who does a great job. He is very artistic. All in all I have problems. My Gels and mani are always dry and if I have a problem with a nail (which is seldom) they are quite accommodating. read more
