Coming from the north is way easier. Great fuel prices! After fueling up, you can shop to your hearts content in the Costco warehouse. There are a lot of businesses around to check out! The only one we managed to stop in is Starbucks for a quick sip. Will return to checkout the other businesses in the future.

I've been doing a lot of driving between and Edmonton and Calgary lately and Gasoline Alley is a…read moregreat stopping point for gas, food and just a break to stretch. The West side of Gasoline Alley is the the most developed, used and crowded. Peter's Drive-In just opened on that side and there is now a Costco and even a huge theatre complex. Lots of choice for restaurants/snacks/gas. This side is more convenient if you are travelling North to South. If you are travelling from the South then accessing and getting back onto the highway is a bit of pain as you have to back-track a bit and sometimes the traffic can get backed up if it is a busy part of the day. The East side of Gasoline Alley has seen some development but nothing compared to the West side. I would hope that more things start popping up on this side to take away some of the congestion from the West side of the highway. On the plus side the bathrooms are usually much better on the East side because they don't see the same number of people using them!
