When the outlet behind my coffee maker started making alarming noises, we shut off the breaker and called our regular electrician. After two hours with no response, we tried another. Still no reply. Meanwhile, the refrigerator was off too, and we were not about to lose all our food. We turned to Yelp. The reviews looked solid, so we called. They answered right away. A few minutes later, we got a text saying Daniel was on his way and would arrive in 16 minutes. And he did. We described the issue, he inspected the outlet, and removed the cover. The receptacle was cracked in five places, with melted and burned plastic. It was a dangerous mess that could have turned into a serious problem. Daniel replaced it, flipped the breaker, and everything came back to life. No more crackling. Coffee maker working. Fridge humming again. We are very happy with the service and have added Johnathon Brown Electric to our go-to list. If we have another electrical issue, they will be our first call. ** 1-Star Review: Rise Electrical Service Company - Dishonest, Overpriced, and Shoddy Work **…read more **$1,800 for a Basic Outlet Install - Plus Faulty Wiring & False Promises!** I am beyond disappointed with Rise Electrical Service Company. Their pricing is outrageously inflated, their work is substandard, and their customer service is dishonest. Here's why: 1. **Highway Robbery Pricing** - They charged me $1,800 to install a $160 attic fan from Lowe's. - The actual electrical work? Just installing a single outlet 4 feet from the sub-panel in an open, easily accessible attic--a job that should cost a few hundred dollars max. - They offered a $400 "discount" only if I used their roofer, who then claimed the fan "wasn't right" and tried to upsell me. Now, they only offered to refund me another $400 (which I did not receive), leaving me $1,400 out of pocket for a simple outlet install! 2. **Failed Inspection & Incorrect Subpanel Wiring** - Their subpanel installation in my main panel was done incorrectly and won't pass inspection. A problem I pointed out, yet they still haven't fixed it! - This is not just incompetence, it's a safety hazard. 3. **False Claims About Wiring Interference** - They lied to me, claiming the high-voltage wire they installed wouldn't interfere with the existing low-voltage wiring in the same conduit. This is completely false and could cause serious issues. After all of the above, all attempts to contact them have gone unanswered and the message received from calling the main number suddenly says "Rise Electric is no longer servicing customers. Sorry for the inconvenience." **Avoid This Company at All Costs!** Rise Electrical Service Company overcharges, cuts corners, and refuses to take responsibility for their mistakes. Their work is unsafe, their pricing is predatory, and their promises are worthless. ** DO NOT HIRE THEM--YOU WILL REGRET IT! **

The technician got there and walked through the house and then presented me with "good, better, best" solutions as follows: Best: whole house surge protector, diagnostic check & tune up, replace all outlets in kitchen (where original problem was): $1575 Better: Whole house surge protector, diagnostic & replace just the affected outlets in kitchen (where original problem was): $850 Good: Diagnostic & replace the affected outlets in kitchen (where original problem was): $225 I asked what about the free estimate, to which he said this is the estimate. This struck me as a bait & switch at best, or outright dirty at worst. I declined to have them do anything. As the technician was leaving we heard him muttering, "guy won't pay". So, I found a more reputable electrician who went out for $125 service call, that he told me about up front. He fixed the problem and left the place clean. Draw your own conclusions but I didn't use Rise for the service.

We had a panel upgrade done by them and after just two years the conduit they installed through my roof is starting to bend because it is not properly supported which will eventually lead to a roof leak if it hasn't started already and has pulled the bracket holding it out of the wall because they used very small and short screws with washers to attach it to the house. The owner immediately became a jerk and tried to blame it on things that don't even make sense instead of just admitting it was not done properly and fixing it. This was poor workmanship and the installer rushing to get the job done with whatever he had on the truck instead of getting the proper screws and doing the job correctly. This is simply poor workmanship and lack of accountability from the owner and then he starts throwing insults like a child because I called him out on his BS excuses. STAY AWAY! This company doesn't care about their customers or the quality of their work!

I got in touch with B&B via Dry Pro, the company that will be sealing my crawlspace. B&B's service…read morewas incredibly fast and high quality. They came in to install a dedicated 20 AMP circuit and receptacle in my crawlspace and I also asked them to install a switch and two additional light fixtures to brighten the place up a bit. They were able to come out within two days and finish the job in just a couple hours. They explained everything they did and answered all of my, sometimes off-topic, questions about electrical. Prices may have been a bit high, not sure. Quality of work-wise I'm not complaining. The dedicated circuit and receptacle cost $400 and the two lights and switch were installed for a total of $150. There are still a few things to be done around the house with my electrical, including aspirations for an EV charger. I will definitely be contacting them again in the future when I need work done.
