Evan was very reasonable and up front with pricing ...no surprises My dishwasher and garbage disposal stopped working. He knew right away what the problem was. Evan was supposed to come out for a free estimate, he did not give me the estimate just went ahead and did the repair (guess I should have asked for the estimate before he replaced the breaker). With all the great reviews I was shocked at the cost $240. (later quoted 150 and 180 from 2 others) I got an estimate while he was there to add a GFCI outlet in my bathroom, he say I needed a new dedicated circuit (for a bidet) and cost would be 300 -400. I did not think that was true, so after getting more opinions hired another electrician. He added the outlet for less than half Evan's estimate, and had I got him first could have got both jobs for less than 240. Evan was supposed to send estimate and invoice for work done he did neither. Also charges 4.5 % CC charge. Think he prefers cash (think I know why, especially since he did not give receipt). I noticed the negative review mentioned use of jargon and being critical of previous wiring. I experienced some of that, was not bothered by the technical / jargon because I have done a fair amount of this type work, not a electrician but know enough to suspect BS and so I verify with other electricians. I would not recommend, I also did a review on an outstanding Electrician. I mostly only do reviews for outstanding service or extremely bad experiences like with Evan. read more

We needed several things done: Our custom ceiling fan and light were not working, lights in kitchen needed to be checked, lights in living room needed to be changed (20 ft ceiling) and estimates on floor plugs and several things on our wish list. Not pleased at all. He came looked in the breaker box and threw out a lot of electrical jargon. Talked about cutting holes in the wall. Negatively Critique the current installation and did nothing. Yet tried to make me feel special by charging the second visit rate of $65. First visit rate is $95. Bottom line-questionable integrity as a company. I Do Not Recommend Using This Service. read more

I used yelp to solicit some quote and EM got back to me, not with a quote, but with an offer to do a free estimate which to me was better and something the other respondents did not offer. He came the same day, and to the point that one reviewer made about jargon, he did that a bit but I took it as someone really into their work - and he answered all my questions until i didnt have any more. He came, asked me some questions, looked at my setup then gave me a quote which seemed reasonable (and was less than one of the other electricians quoted - albeit without seeing the issue). He told me what he thought it was, which was not too difficult to understand and it ended up he was right and was able to fix it immediately - he came, diagnosed, and fixed it in under 30minutes! Its a pity the one person had a poor experience because all other respondents gave him a 5 and i would agree with the majority, will use EM Electric again! read more
