4 stars for service, 2 stars for the price of services…read more After reading the prior reviews on Yelp, which were all 5 Stars, I thought this would be a good company to call to repair our sprinkler system. Before the start of the Spring watering season, I wanted to have the heads checked and get a couple of sprinkler heads replaced that were gushing and leaking. I requested service on their website and was promptly called back to set up an appointment. I also noticed that Seniors automatically get a discount, I liked that. I was told my service technician would be Jim. He called around 30 minutes before he was scheduled to ensure I was home. He assessed the situation told me I had two heads that needed replacing and proceeded to finish testing the zones and repair the defective sprinkler heads. He finished up in less than 30 minutes. Jim was very nice but seemed very much in a hurry. This is my fault, but I was really surprised that he didn't come in to give me an estimate. I figured he was still out there checking the system. The bill was under $200 which I felt was excessive due to the time he spent working on the system. Oh well, live and learn, live and learn.

Lazy Work and Horrible Customer Service…read more Last October I had a zone go out and Discount Sprinkler repaired it to get my system up and running. When I turned my system back on in late May I noticed the zones were not working again. At that same time I noticed an exposed low voltage wire in our sloped side bed so we made a point to mention to the tech when he came out on Friday, May 31. He told my wife the wire had become disconnected and to be very careful as the connection is very sensitive. Furthermore he charged us for labor when I called originally the receptionist noted it would be a warranty visit. When I came home that same wire was still exposed and in the process of doing the right thing of burying the wire the zones once again lost power. I called first thing Monday AM and spoke to the receptionist and she said she would let the owner know. I explained to her we just planted $800 worth of plants and were leaving town on Thursday PM so getting our system up and running was vital. After no call back I left a message Tuesday early afternoon. I then called another vendor Wednesday AM after I still did not get a call back. The new vendor was able to come out on Thursday. He ran a new line to be efficient with time, and this time buried it in the grass as he said he avoids beds since they are susceptible to erosion so not the best area to bury wire. After I returned from my trip I was finally able to connect with the owner (Richard) on June 12 (I called him BTW...still no call back from my outreach). He said he would connect with his tech. After no reply I texted Richard on June 17 and he replied the tech was not familiar with the job. To help expedite I texted pics of my house plus the 2 Discount Sprinkler invoices and the 2nd vendor's invoice (so he could see I hired someone to fix their poor workmanship). Still nothing. Fast forward to July 19 after numerous follow ups on my end and Richard finally said the May 31 visit was not in fact a warranty visit and that he would not reimburse for the labor from that visit. Oh, he offered a credit for a tune up in the future, but clearly having Discount Sprinkler come work on my system was not anything I would consider. All that said it is beyond crazy how poor of a service Discount Sprinkler provided. The lazy job back in October is one thing, but to not fix that wrong on the May 31 visit (if a wire is so sensitive why on earth leave it exposed in a bed where there is obvious foot traffic?), and still charge me is absurd. In the end I would have been content if he credited back the $148 in labor for the May 31 visit to help offset the 2nd vendor's labor, but alas he did not. Perhaps Richard will one day care about customer service and doing the right thing when issues arise. Until then I would think twice before using Discount Sprinkler.

I had them remove 3 large oak trees. One of them had a trunk approximately 24-inches wide. It was a beast. Not to mention it hung over my swimming pool. I was expecting this huge mess around and inside my pool. I took a picture of what my pool looked like just after they left. It looked like they never were there. The guys at Frontier are extremely nice, knowledgable, and their prices can't be beat. In fact. For this service call. They were $200 cheaper than the quotes I was getting. There is no question for me. Frontier is the ONLY one I'll use for my future tree service needs.

Maybe Jonathan is better when doing landscaping, but don't bother with his Christmas lighting…read moreservice. He was super-responsive and quick to respond to every text message regarding getting my lights installed, up to the point where I paid his deposit. He even texted me the day after he sent the invoice to make sure I got it, reminding me to pay the invoice, which I did. He promised installation on Nov 17th, 2016. Nov 17 came and went, no installation. I contacted him and he said they were a little behind, will probably start that evening and finish on the 18th. By the end of the day on the 18th when nobody showed up, I texted him again and this time he promised they would be installed by Tuesday Nov 22nd, the exact words he used were "I can guarantee them by Tuesday". Tuesday came and went, no installation. The installer finally came on Saturday Nov 26th, but didn't have enough lights or the promised timer, but came back on Sunday morning to finish up. Jonathan proceeded to text me that same evening, asking me to pay the balance. Yup, he is REAL responsive when he wants to get paid. I looked over my invoice and couldn't see if the price (which was more expensive than what my neighbor paid) included removal of the lights after Christmas. By this point his lighting website was now offline (which I asked him about a couple times, and he ignored me) so I emailed him my question about taking them down - no response. 2 days later he texts me again asking for me to pay the balance, and so I ask again if the total includes taking them down. He says it generally does not, normally another $175.00, but since he didn't specify it on my original invoice he will include taking them down. I thank him and promptly pay the balance. I ask him when the lights will be taken down and he informs me it will be early January. The month of January came and went, no contact from Jonathan. Fast forward to February 4th 2017 and my wife asks me if the Christmas lights are ever going to come down, so I text Jonathan and ask when he can take the lights down and he tells me Tuesday Feb 7th. Tuesday comes and goes, nobody shows up. I text him again the following Monday Feb 13th to ask if anyone will be coming this week and I get no reply. I call and leave a voicemail a couple days later, no reply. It's now been another 10 days since he said they would be taken down and he is completely incommunicado. At this point I guess I'm going to have to hire someone else to remove my lights, or risk injury getting up on a tall ladder to get my lights down myself (which is why I wanted to pay a "professional" in the first place). Look elsewhere for someone that can keep their promises and cares about customer service.
