Purple Care has done a fantastic job of caring for our lawn. They've always been professional and very accommodating & I really enjoyed chatting with the techs on their visit. We've had what we thought was good business relationship. Unfortunately, we decided to cancel our business with them, which is something we really did not want to do. We bought our house new in 1987 and raised our daughter here. We've never had an irrigation system & since my wife is blind and I'm an old man, currently recovering from spinal fusion surgery, it's been a bit challenging watering our small, postage stamp yard. I asked Purple Care if they would give us an estimate for an irrigation system and, again, they were very accommodating. I later asked, via email, if they offered any senior or veteran discounts. There was bit of miscommunication initially, but that was all ironed out. I then told them that we would like to move forward with program. I received no response. I followed up with a second request to move forward with the project. Crickets. I then emailed them asking why they no longer wished to do business with us, CCing several associates within the organization. We were ghosted. I called Purple Care and said we no longer require their services, and when politely asked why, I stated that everything is documented in email correspondence, wished them a good day, said goodbye and hung up. ~ Purple Care showed up at my house at 10:24 am vs btwn 2& 4 pm as I had asked..... Did not ring the door bell& then proceeded to spray in the FRONT of the house without asking. Had to go out side& ask the guy to move his truck, which he kept running, because I was getting a grocery order& he refused because he said he was 'talking to another customer, the lady next door,who has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO SPRAY!! I asked to move his truck to HER side of the duplex& he refused. She just looked on& Siad nothing. SO IRRITATING!! I will call someone else. I had already had to call them yesterday because they called me with a set appointment, but they HAD set an appointment, the very next day, but they hadn't bothered to even text or call me. We requested cancellation of services after a pregnancy-related medical concern regarding pesticide exposure and informed the company that a physician note was forthcoming. We communicated the expected timeline, but before that timeframe elapsed, the company attempted one phone call and then charged us a $500 cancellation fee. I wanted to order a specific sod, have the ground prepped, and the sod installed. They had to reschedule my original appointment 3 times. The salesman was very interested in selling me an irrigation system. Don't need it. They were VERY interested in selling me their ongoing services, where I was told they would test to make sure I didn't mess up their chemicals... for real?? They were interested in selling me his special dirt... okay, whatever. They needed 3 days to lay sod... really? They don't do any jobs less than $1500.00... no problem. 1 Star. updated review.. Regarding the comments from Lola G... We do not know who this person is, but she never engaged with us while we were attempting to resolve the improper billing and late fees. We tried to work with customer service rep. Felicia Holmes for weeks trying to resolve this issue. She failed to satisfactorily respond to our dispute over these charges. In this end she said to take it up with the collection agency. Lola states they value open, respectful communication and remain available to discuss. I have been using Purple Care for approximately 3 years. I have had the "regular" yard stuff done but also a very large flower bed with crape myrtles and liriope grass surrounding it. I have had all my grass in the back yard replaced due to a fungus that for some reason was not noticed. Anyway, the flower bed was great. As far as the yard in general, it looks great from afar. The problem with the back is that they split the yard in half putting half Bermuda and half St. Augustine. The reason I was told is that I have a shade tree which causes an issue. As I said, it looks great from afar. But funky when up close or when it needs to be mowed. The one grows faster than the other. Then there is the Bremuda grass that was replaced in part of the front yard. It was put in as sod so the height is higher than the other and it is a different type. I wanted to buy some seed to add to make the grasses match. Can't do it. It is only sold in sod which is an expense I do not need to incur at this time. But in general, I always have prompt responses to any questions I might have. All the ladies who answer the phone are top notch. I was introduced to my new tech (TONY), who was being trained by GUS, when they came to my house this week. Both of them were very friendly, courteous, responsive to my questions and made sure to explain what they were doing any why. I am giving the company a 4 stars because all of the work done has not been perfect as I listed above but the guys who show up are great. read more

*update- the purple care response is not accurate. They talked to my husband twice yesterday about not showing up. They didn't have GPS of how long they were at the house, they didn't have proof except for a picture of our house from the road. I was in my backyard with my dogs when said service was completed and none of our outside cameras had motion from purple care. They are still lying! Gross company practices. 2nd update- the picture they used to tell us they came and sprayed yesterday had our old rose bushes and didn't haven't my American flags that are currently out. They used an old picture to say they came by. Scammers. I sent the below review on Facebook and then I was blocked so it wouldn't show up on their page. It is NOT a honest company at all!!! 2 no shows that I caught.. who knows how many I didn't. We have been using Purple Care since we bought our house in 2017. For a while, we were happy with our service, but over the past few years the service has down downhill and I have grown dissatisfied. We have more and more weeds despite paying for a service that is supposed to deal with them. The weeds appear in the back yard and along the edge of the front. My front yard is half-dirt, and my backyard has a lot of yellow spots. I pay $100/month for my yard to look like this? And yes we water our yard during the summer. Every time the service technician arrives at my house and he sits in his truck for at least 5 minutes. Then he gets out and spreads some white pellets around the yard. After that, he takes a bottle of some liquid, goes to the side of my house, and reappears after about 90 seconds. Not sure what he did here there. Have been using this company since 2021. They have gone downhill since then. I had scheduled a tech to come out 2 weeks ago to fix a sprinkler leak, he came out and determined that we needed to turn the water back on to find the leak. He noted that he would be back in a few days. I agreed to this and turned the water on. When a few days came, he did not come back out, so I called the office and they had no idea what was going on. The office then scheduled him to come out 4-5 days later. After this the water leak has been ongoing for over 10 days now. I got tired of them doing the run-around game and hired another company. I suggest you avoid this company. I had to backcharge them for that service call as nothing was completed, I asked for a refund and it went on deaf ears. AVOID AVOID AVOID! ***UPDATED REVIEW TO RESPONSE BELOW*** You are firing me as a customer? You do realize I already fired YOU first from your incompetence to be able to properly schedule and keep your word to come back to fix the leak. That reply is pretty funny though, not going to lie. We had purple lawn care come out and give an estimate of what we wanted done to the front yard. We wanted it till and leveled out and the side built up and put down grass seed. The quote was for 2500. We agreed and had them out on March 29th. They did not till our yard that just put top soil down and did the grass seed. They didn't have enough top soil to build up the sides We called Cindy when they were not tilling the yard and she said that ATT did not give them permission to dig. Which was a lie as we just had sprinkler system installed in October and they had to trench it out. They still charged us 2500 and the top soil washed out after the first big rain we had. My husband then send Cindy an email and she never responded. Edit to add: funny how we reach out via email once from my self and once from my husband and had no response from you but you are quick to respond to reviews. My wife signed us up for purplecare over a year ago, after a few months we did not notice any difference we decided to cancel the service. Apparently they kept coming out to spray our lawn without us paying for it and racked up a $500 bill they eventually sent my wife to collections. Her credit just got hit because she refused to pay for a service we canceled. These are scam tactics pure and simple, even if we had not canceled they should have stopped coming out when we stopped paying like any other recurring service. read more

Horrible. Do not waste your time. I waited weeks for a service. They canceled multiple times and then would never reach out to reschedule. I got an email stating that I would be getting treatment this week (Finally, after weeks of waiting) so I called to cancel as they likely would just cancel again. The receptionist woman argued with me about me wanting to cancel my services and eventually she hung up on me and refused to answer my calls again about canceling my services. The quality of the work done on my pots with plants installed was the worst. They brought me plants that I could have bought at a flea market. Next to the pots was a water line to be put in the pots on a timer to water them. They were left out I called the company to complain, and all I got was you should have said something. Common sense would tell you the water lines need to be installed. Their response was I we will come back and put the water lines in the pots for a fee. The workers were watering the pots with water bottles when there was a water hose near by. I finally talked to Justin about what happened, told him I was disappointed and his response was No problem! We signed up with Purple Care in March, 2024 for fertilization and weed control. The first 5 months of service was great. Our St. Augustine lawn became lush and thick with most weeds gone. Then new service tech sprayed weed control that was not recommended for St. Augustine grass and it severely damaged a large portion of the front yard. After a couple months of very little response from the company, a rep finally came out to inspect the damage. He confirmed that he herbicide used was wrong but did not offer any solution. We then cancelled further service. The damage is still in place and I have attempted again to get someone to come out and review the situation, emailed photos of the damage, all with no further response. I would have liked to start service again if they only had some customer service, but apparently they don't. Ironically, the weeds were not damaged. I am in Bedford, TX, not San Francisco read more

My service set up with Purple Care was easy. However I was misled/lied to. I was signing up for lawn care and the sales rep asked if I wanted pest control. Since we just moved in I wasn't sure if I needed it, but he assured me I could cancel it anytime. So I went ahead and told him to set up the service. After a couple of treatments (at $118 per treatment) I tried to cancel it and was told there was a $219, plus tax, fee to cancel. I was NEVER told there would be a fee to cancel and I specifically asked the sales rep when he was selling me the service. That is why I agreed to take the service when I wasn't sure if I even needed it. I was misled and lied to. I also used Purple for my lawn treatment (fertilize/weed control). I will cancel my pest control services, be forced to pay the $219 (ROBBERY) and I will now also cancel my lawn service as well. I'll go with another local, well known lawn company for my lawn care. I will not continue to give Purple $ for my lawn care when they feel the need to lie to me so I can get roped into other services with them. read more

I rarely write reviews but thought an honest review would help other customers. First of all, the company has great customer service when you call in with any problems; they're extremely helpful and kind. My technician Anthony on the other hand does not provide good customer service and is not providing complete value to Purple Care's customers. I have cameras completely around my house and I watch his every service. He sprints across my yard with the fertilization spreader, which goes against the product label and the amount of fertilization that should be applied to my yard. How do I know this? I'm a CA in his same industry and I go through all the same State certified training. Anthony also leaves a paper with a list of everything he completed before he even starts the job. I have a large yard and there has not been one time he's used multiple bags of fertilizer on my yard (I have it all on camera). I've fertilized my yard for years and with the proper application rate, two full bags at minimum is required. I'm not getting what I paid for, even though he indicates he used the proper amount on the paper left before service. The paper always indicates he uses multiple bags, which he does not. Back to the company... They have a terrible problem with scheduling, in 2023 I had to call them 3 times to figure out why I have not been serviced in the 8 week time frame. This is a big deal, especially when turf is exiting its dormancy period; the weeds are growing out of control meaning you have to start mowing earlier than usual. If their system worked like clockwork, I shouldn't have to deal with a large amount of tall weeds early in the season. I have also kept a record of how many times they have rescheduled me, which has been 3 times. So out of 8 treatments in a year, 6 treatments I had to call and request (because it was 12 weeks since they've been there) or I have been rescheduled. I gave this company almost two years of my business, but no more. I hired this company as a luxury so I no longer had to treat my yard. Unlucky for them I have camera's everywhere and I'm in the same career field, trained the same way, certified in the same categories with the State. Anthony is doing his company a disservice and unfortunately customers are not getting what they could be with another company. Update and response to owner, wow this owner has very thin skin. I have only called to complain when your scheduling system fails to give me a notification and I have to come home from work to open the gate. Or I call to complain after 12 weeks of no one showing up to my house. I have had your manager come out to my house on one occasion to show him the video of not treating 1/3 of my yard. After viewing the video, he apologized for Anthony not doing his job. If you really look at my review, I'm not questioning the results of my beautiful well irrigated yard. I'm questioning VALUE. I work on my yard weekly, hand pulling weeds (which I shouldn't have to, but actually enjoy doing it). The final straw of cancelling was due to getting an email saying my service was cancelled, but yet I had no notification Anthony was coming. I called the office and they couldn't figure out why I didn't get a notification. I have never refused to give you videos, no one has ever asked me; it's a click of a button to send them. I'll be happy to post the last video from November on Google where Anthony only used one bag of fertilizer on my lawn, and the one where he sprints across the yard; or I can send them to you. I will also be happy to post the paper left behind showing Anthony used equivalent of two bags of fertilizer. Customers beware, this is how the owner of this business responds to valid complaints towards his business that could be easily resolved. Maybe a phone call or send your manager over to look and see what your technician is doing. From what I gather, you don't care about value of what the customer is paying for if the lawn looks nice; I never indicated it does not look nice. read more

we should have listened to the reviews below. My experience with purple care has been anything but positive. I had sod install service scheduled with them. In the end, the service they provided was very sub par as the crew is VERY inexperienced and was told they had many years of experience. i had to correct so many errors and issues. the crew didnt even have the proper tools to do the job. majority of them this was their first time. The crew head stayed for a few minutes then left. In addition, i paid for additional service for the sod install that was not fully provided. PC refused to prorate or provide a refund. Instead they refused to reply back to emails to rectify this issue. I will not be recommending them to anyone as they are a very unethical business. they care very little about making things right or correcting issues. stay away from them and find a better lawn care company in DFW read more

I wouldn't give this company even 1 star if I could help it. We hired Purple Care for our lawn care after a salesperson came to the door of our new home. The day the guy showed up to put fertilizer and weed killer down, I was home and watched him through the back window. He literally walked across our very large backyard once with the fertilizer, then went back out the gate, got into his truck, and drove away. I WATCHED him do it -- he was not in our backyard for 10 minutes. My husband called to complain, and the woman answering the phone was very rude and accused him of lying. He told them to cancel the service immediately. Not only did we get charged for a service we didn't even receive, but they charged us even more for the 1st time "discount" we'd been given. This is a shady business with terrible customer service. I suspect they have to send sales people out to knock on doors so they can rope in new customers to make up for all the people who cancel. After spending time at site and discussion of goal of designs and plants wanted for site to the man...he does not produce visual design as promised, yet sends proposal by email for costs of project without a visual! You would think on the 1st lawn care service they would have gone the extra mile to make a 1st good impression . Well the lawn service was horrendous and basically sucked. Hired Purple Care back in June of 2021 after purchasing a new home. Tyrus has been my tech this entire time and has been wonderful to work with! He is great at communicating, very prompt, and wastes no time getting the job done. Very happy with my experience with Purple Care! They were over quite a bit when we had an infestation of army worms last fall. He was super quick spraying and treating all areas and I'm looking forward to not having to deal with ants and everything els my self this summer. Hired Purple Care to redesign and re-landscape my front beds, and lay new mulch throughout. They did a great job designing, quick to respond and good customer service, but installation and actual work needs improvement. We had all our previous plants removed and replaced with new bushes. Prior to planting, they replaced some of the soil where the bushes would go, but the bed was not leveled back out, creating high and low spots throughout and some of the bushes were planted so shallow that the roots were exposed after the first good rain. Also, instead of removing the old brown mulch, they laid a very thin layer of the new black mulch on top. I had to request that they add more mulch to the areas that either had no mulch or it was so thin you could see dirt through it. They filled the spots with a minimal amount but after it rained you could see dirt and brown mulch again. We ended up having to get more to cover some areas. Also, during installation they put a few cracks in our sprinkler system, but fortunately they told us about it and had them repaired. Unfortunately, I don't think I would use Purple Care again. read more
