Decided it was time for a new set of golf clubs. Made an appointment with Owen for a fitting. He…read morelistening carefully to what I was looking for. He was attentive, and professional. I tried out several clubs and irons. After an hour, many, many swings, and analysis of all. We were able to determine which clubs would suit me best. I was able to purchase them from their store stock. My husband had also gone for a fitting a few weeks earlier. We were both pleased, and would recommend highly.

Where to begin?…read more Let's start with the process. Easy-peasy to use their scheduler, make a change in date. Done. Then the fitting itself. Connor Murray was assigned to me. The boy knows his stuff! Whether it was the latest equipment, using the Tracer to analyze my swing mechanics, or giving a couple of tips on swing path (without giving instruction, since he doesn't yet have his credential and I don't want to get him in trouble, haha), he knows what he's doing and talking about. And last, there's the Ethics and Integrity thing. After spending sufficient time watching me, Connor's suggestion was to work a bit on my swing and maybe take a couple of lessons, rather than buying expensive new equipment. He said he could sell me something, but Chris's (Cote, the owner, I presume) philosophy (and his, Connor's, as a credentialed PGM club fitter) is to only sell equipment if it's going to improve what's in the bag. Connor said the clubs I have are excellent, fitted to me, and there's no newer technology that he could sell me that would be an upgrade to what I already own. He gave me a big bucket of balls, his card, and the card of their head pro instructor with a suggestion to set up a couple of lessons. Call me jaded, but in an age where someone's always trying to sell me something I don't really need, this not only impressed me but has now turned me into a raving fan of his and Chris Cote's Golf!

Whether she's making the rounds as the cart girl or serving drinks at the bar, Sydney goes above and beyond to make every member feel welcome and taken care of. But that is not why I am willing to drive long distances to play the wonderful game of Golf. It's because I enjoy playing on a golf course that are difficult to get on unless you're a member. And if a family or friend invites to you to play, I never say no. The Vineyards Golf Course is a beautifully designed course that easily blends in with its surroundings. The course has three set of tee boxes which we chose to play the back tees of course. Why??, well because the young men I was playing with can drive ball 300 yards plus and sometimes on the fairway. It sure did not help my game when I attempted to drive the ball the distances they seem capable. I found the Vineyards golf course challenging with its rolling fairways, protected by large meandering sand bunkers, false fronts and hazards. We had a windy day that played in our favor on some holes and others which easily challenged us. The par-3 holes were a variety in length, direction and difficulty. The secondary roughs had fescue grasses and in some cases we were lined up along a corn field farm. Vineyards was much more challenging than I anticipated, but I very much enjoyed the course and would love to play there again before the season ends.

Its buried in the woods in my home town of South Hadley, MA. The course is private, so you'll need to know a member to get on. Its fairly expensive even if you do. If you end up playing here, though, you'll be treated to one of the best 18 holes you can play in Massachusetts. This course is very well maintained, and very challenging. There are almost no holes that you can survive with an innacurate tee shot. The course itself is very long, and has difficult shots around its very protected greens. The course was designed by Donald Ross, and you can see some of his trademark elements still in the design. If you' have enough money to become a member here, I would seriously consider it.
