We've driven by this restaurant SO many times and have yet to come by until now. What a fun…read moreexperience we had! When you pull up to the plaza you would think anything of the restaurant but when you go inside it's a fun colorful experience. When we were seated we were brought waters and menus. We took some time to look at the menus but ultimately took our server's suggestions on drinks. I ended up having a virgin Rose Colored Glasses drink and absolutely loved it. The drinks were large and I felt they were worth the price. My husband got an old fashioned. To start we got the cheese curds, and when I tell you these cheese curds still live rent free in my mind I kid you not. They were so good, the cheese was battered in a tempura batter with a truffle cream sauce and it made for such an incredible dish! For our entrees we got the pork chop with the brown butter sauces and bavette with a red wine reduction. The pork chop was great with the brown butter you just gotta make sure you mix it up, and the red wine was a bit too salty for me but it was okay because I ended up loving the steak by itself! For our sides we got the grilled zucchini under the snacks option instead of the sides option because I wanted all the fixings. It was a great choice! The fixings really made and I could eat a plate of that and just be happy (with the cheese curds of course). The wiped potatoes were great as well. Now I was going to pass on dessert because I was SO full already, but twist my arm when you tell me the cookie dough ice cream is a must try. It had real cookie dough chunks on top and bottle and the vanilla ice cream was not boring vanilla, I ate almost half of that bowl and couldn't stop. The chocolate chip cookie dough was house made and it was the perfect blend of sweet and salty that tied the whole ice cream bowl together. Can't recommend that enough as well. All in all, we had a great experience! It was so fun to see so many regulars and so many new folks who came in to dine at the same time as us and we all peeked to see who ordered what before we ordered and got some great recs as you can see! Can't wait to come back to enjoy my favorites and more!

We did go a bit later in the day so the restaurant was very empty but our food came very quickly. The atmosphere is casual but well done and my mom loved the music they were playing. We started with the cheese curds which were so good and gluten free! This was my favorite part of the meal for sure. I haven't had a cheese curd in probably 10 years and these were fantastic, especially accompanied by the truffle ranch sauce. I got the arugula and grilled chicken salad as my main. It was good but nothing to write home about. The chicken was well seasoned and plentiful and the dried cherries were a nice touch. Overall, I enjoyed it but won't be left thinking about it again. My mom got the smoked ham, brie, and pears sandwich and had similar thoughts. She enjoyed it but wasn't blown away. She did note that she wished it had some sort of honey mustard or a sauce other than mayo. The portion for this sandwich was huge and could easily be two meals. All in all, we enjoyed Everett Farms and would come back. I appreciate how well they label their menu with gluten free options and the service.

Staff are friendly too! I've had both the gluten-free chocolate chip cookie ($4) and the banana nut bread with chocolate chips ($4). Other pastries (scones, muffins, tarts) ranged from $6-$10, which I thought was a bit high. The chocolate chip cookie was tasty and chewy and you couldn't tell that it's gluten-free. A bit sweeter than some other ones I've had. I liked it but it's not a chocolate chip cookie to go out of your way for. The banana bread was full of chocolate, which made it nice and gooey in certain areas on this hot day. Unfortunately, the parts without chocolate were a bit dry. Generally, the baked goods seemed a bit overpriced for the quality and taste, but maybe their savory items are better. I think I'd give it around a 3.5 for the food but bumped it up for the atmosphere. The area around is fun, with a hiking trail, goats, and a farm market on the weekends. Oh, and heads-up, there's a 3% credit card fee even though they're cashless.

We visited for tea with some adults and children this weekend…read more The room near the patio is gorgeous (the inner room is more on the cozy side). We were quickly seated with a reservation and the tables were lovely - gorgeous wedgewood china (even for the kids!). Greeted with prosecco for adults and sparkling juice for the kids. Service was really friendly and helpful with tea selections. There are about 4 options for children if they want tea as well. Food was good and there was a tower for the kids (their the older child at our table wanted the adult sandwiches...). Plenty of sandwiches and sweets. The scone actually was the standout though - orange cranberry - very soft and delicious. Customary lemon curd, jelly and cream - delicious. All in all, this was a nice, fancy time for tea but there were some negatives namely: no one ever asked if we wanted more drinks (I would have had a glass of champagne but no one returned or asked - I could have flagged someone down but was surprised at this level of hotel that service wasn't so helpful). We also felt rushed - I would have stayed longer to enjoy but get they were cleaning up our table quickly. Instead, we brought some of the treats to go. While the staff was friendly, they weren't really there a lot - I saw some tables get asked if they wanted more sandwiches - but we did not... and it wasn't because we had kids at the table because I'd say at the time we went, more than 50% of the tables had kids with them. We did get a nice little to go gift of tea, chocolate and a tea strainer. I'm conflicted upon returning just due to feeling rushed.... I always go for tea once a year at least and I've been to every fancy hotel in the city (and other restaurants) for tea and multiple hotels in Europe (Ireland, England) and this was the most European feeling but really felt less relaxed even though the surroundings were gorgeous.

Ordered the tomato bisque which was very tasty. Hubby ordered the French onion soup which is just ok per my hubby who has French onion everywhere we go. Ordered the Mushroom rosotto which was ok. Needed a little more liquid. Very tasty. Hubby had the duck which he said was tough. Will not be back. Too many wonderful restaurants in this city.

The main bar area and two more dining rooms offered a ton of space without feeling big and cold. Dan was THE MAN! He was so sweet and helpful. He was busy but not rushed at all. We also tried the homemade chili and it was tasty with a kick. The Lantern is a great choice for a casual meal or maybe just a cold beer.

Our burger club just visited The Lantern and it was pretty good…read more Apparently The Lantern has been around since 1934, but not in its current location. It's a smallish place with lots of street parking nearby. It was a cold night when we were there. We thought we would have eight-to-ten people in our group, but ended up with seven people. They don't take reservations, but if you call an hour before you arrive with your largish party, they will hold a table for you. And they did. When you walk in the front door, you immediately walk to the right for the bar or dining room seating to the left. They set our table up across from the door. Every time someone went in our out, we had a cold blast of air hit us and that was a bit unnerving. You just couldn't get warm. There was a wall behind us, but apparently another dining section on the other side, we should have sat there, it would have been more comfortable. Our party was debating about getting an appetizer as we saw someone else get the wings which were big and juicy looking. They couldn't make up their mind, so I got their soup of the day: cream of chicken soup. It was pretty good and much needed on a cold nice, but it was just okay and I can pass on it next time. The soup was warm, almost room temperature, so they'll have to heat it up next time. I ended up getting their 8oz Lantern burger. They have a junior option at 6oz and a Tiffany at 10oz. The middle was fine. I got it medium rare with American cheese, lettuce, pickles, and mustard and a side of tots. They have a lot of options and the server recommended the tots. They were good, but no better than anywhere else. The burger was juicy and good, but the meat is not seasoned. Though if it is, I couldn't taste it. However, the bun held up really well despite how juicy the burger was and the burger was cooked to perfection. Others in our party thought the burgers were just okay. Over all, we had an average score of 4.00/5.00. The burgers were good, but I bet there are better items on the menu which boasts the best burgers in town. Not sure about that, but decent enough.
