Stopped in for my favorite hot turkey sandwich and chili. It one of my best visits but the portions were still great. The gravy tasted watered down or something. No bread served extra with meal. Waitress more interested in talking behind the counter then dealing with the customer. Brought our food and never returned until she was bringing the check. Wife had an omelette and the only thing wrong with it as well was the watered down gravy. Sad this had always even my go to place for this meal. read more

Foods good enough for a small town. But their downfall is the service. Waitstaff may be attentive and respectful to your face and the shorter waitress whose birthday was on 8/10 (tonight) was an absolute pleasure to deal with! However, it's bad when I can hear the other staff members (young guy specifically, with roughly shoulder length hair this time, but I'm in here occasionally and most of the waitresses are usually talking bad about their customers WHILE ON THE FLOOR) talking badly about me... my sunglasses are prescription, bud. And I work night shift so MOST lighting is enough to give me a migraine. Overall good food, and a couple good people... but the majority of staff has NO concept of the fact we can hear ya from 20 ft away when it's not exactly busy.... A tip from someone else in the restaurant industry, go back into the kitchen if you're going to talk shit about your customers... or at least whisper if it's quiet and you're 20ft away. This hidden gem be the place to eat in Carleton packed with regulars enjoying a Saturday afternoon brunch. The owner says going on 12 years now and our superstar waitress Zelda been in house 9 years slinging comfort food's. Zelda say you gotta have our famous Chicken Pot Pie which sells out early every Saturday, ,, damn she's right on stuffed with Veggies, Potatoes and house made Dumplings outstanding Wows. Had a mega bowl Chili smothered with Cheese we shared and appetizers combo platter truly a winner on the super cheap. She had a Prime Rib just the way she Loved. A order of spot on Southern Biscuits and Gravy with nice big bowl of Sausage Gravy rules. Now the biggest bestest Greek Gyro Feta Spinach Maters Onions and Peppers I've ever eaten OMG FABULOUS WOWED, I'm going back for that really soon and try a couple more mega Omelets only 6 fifty each with house shredded Hash brown's topped with grilled onions. I stopped after dropping a friend off at the airport before getting back on the highway and I am ohhh so glad I did. A giant omelette with fresh mushrooms, cheese and loaded with bacon and a heap of shredded potatoes -but then I thought why not try the pancakes? Trying something new and local, first impression driving up was Oh no. This place is not your newly renovated or chic dining establishment, and I don't think it is what they are going for. Lunch time, server was very nice attentive and helpful. Meal included mini tacos and fried green beans. Both were good. Next was homemade chili, blueberry pancakes, a hot dog and the farmers skillet. Skillet was huge, could only eat half. But what a flavorful mix of sausage, bacon, potatoes, cheese and top it off with country gravy and two ver easy eggs! The food was good.......the service was terrible. We have a family of eight. We were seated right away, but when our appetizers came, we were not given plates or utensils. We were left to hold our food and eat it........yes it was finger food, but to have someplace to set it down while I was assisting my younger children would have been helpful. When we received our food, we needed to get up and get our own napkins and utensils. We will not be returning, unfortunately. It is a cute little place with good food. read more

Ate lunch here the other day...had the seafood platter...cod...lake perch and shrimp along with normal fries and a side salad. At 2pm the place was pretty much packed with people eating. The seafood was good...the fries were normal frozen fries not those nasty things with coating all over them. A they have a large selection of food. I will be back again. read more

Just wanted to add: I am NOT hateful. I have no grudge against the owner, the help, or some prior order. I genuinely enjoyed the food and the overall experience. AND I agree: I never had any complaints about the cleanliness. BUT: roaches come in inside crates, bags, and boxes, and they reproduce rapidly even in the cleanest restaurants. C'mon: if you've got to spray 7 times, and long sprays, NOT short bursts, that is a bigger problem than a can of Raid is going to repair. Get a pro in there. The owner and the help are all very nice people, the food is terrific, and I'd love to change my mind and give you guys another try! Please fix the problem. read more

Meeting a friend 1/2 way between Farmington Hills, MI and Toledo, OH. Found this place in between, on Yelp. Read the reviews and decided to try it. The place is in a little town about 2 miles off of the expressway. Easy to find. It is located in a Plaza. We got there about 1/2 hour before the lunch crowd hit. The place was pretty packed and I only saw 2 tables that weren't taken. I guess there's a reason why. I had the Double burger. I wasn't expecting it to be as big as it was for the inexpensive price it showed. It was way bigger than I expected. It's a good thing I brought my appetite, or I wouldn't have finished it with the fries! We ordered a Double Burger with Fries and a Single Burger (no Fries), and 1 coffee...the bill was only $14. Great prices, tasty food, great service! I would definitely recommend this place. read more
