Below is a fact based review with anonymity guaranteed. This statement will be legally compliant with rules and regulations that necessitate and allow a review to stay up on the internet.
I have lived at Farm Haus for approximately 3 months, and it has been a mostly unpleasant experience due to the following facts:
1. Amenities were advertised to us, like smart locks, smart thermostat etc. These were falsely advertised and not available. There is an app called Stratis for the lock system. The apartment management sent me an invite to this app, as well as gloated about it on our tour. However, upon realizing the app doesn't work, on site staff advised that the system is terrible and they will be getting a new one soon. This turned out to be a lie and a trend, unfortunately.
2. There has been buzz in this community about construction mishaps and traps set by construction workers who were apparently disgruntled about something. There was a tiktok video outlining this, but it was scrubbed. I have a copy of it however. I can vouch for this, as our unit had a fully inflated coke bottle jammed into the bottom of one of the toilet drains. This apartment was leased out for 2 years before we took posession, yet the apartment claims there has never been an issue with the bathroom prior to us. The maintenance man admitted the issue once there was no denying it anymore, and the crew was figuring out how to extract a coca cola bottle from a toilet drain without digging up the floor.
3. Breakers pop on this unit all the time. I have asked if there is a safety concern. As with all of my communications with FarmHaus, the level of care or concern is seemingly subterranean. If you do get a response, it will be whatever can be said to get you to shut up. There is one particular staff member who loves to give you the customer service walk and dance, and say all the right things, and then proceed to do literally nothing. After this is repeated a few times, it starts to feel like gas lighting, because it is.
4. It doesn't get any better as you go up the chain of Bell. I asked to speak to a district manager, who proceeded to put me off for a week+ without an answer because "she forgot and was at a conference". We finally got a phone call scheduled a few weeks later, and she proceeded with the phone call as if she didn't even read my thoughtful and long/descriptive e-mail that described the issues we were having.
5. Maintenance guys are nice enough, but they love to close your tickets before speaking with you. They make up things like that your voicemail is full, or their number is blocked on your phone. They don't try to e-mail or text. Upon approaching this situation, they immediately put the blame on me. I work in IT and my phone is critical, it works great. This is unfortunately another integrity issue.
6. Things like what has happened today, where with only a couple hours notice, we are told that we won't have water for nearly an hour because of a "scheduling conflict".
At the end of the day, my main expectation is that the folks who manage my place of safety have at least a little bit of integrity, have my safety in mind, and will follow through on the things they say they will do.
I have decided to write this review after an e-mail to the "district manager" has gone unanswered for nearly a week. I have asked if there is anyone there that cares or can speak to the safety of my unit, but until then, I can't say it's even safe to live here. That is just my opinion however and not a fact that I can prove. The video I have only proves intent of the construction crews, unfortunately.
I will continue to update this review as things play out. This is a beautiful property in terms of location, and the people that live here are nice. They deserve better from this company who has made it more than clear that caring about people is not in their DNA (my opinion). read more
